Awkward parts entwined
fingers tracing lines
We followed misfit creek
like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein
In dark damp unknown
hearts lightning sparked love’s crime
becoming tender monster
hateful mob would chase through time
We joined our true thin difference
Didn’t ask each other why
We rode stitched bloody waves
in angry paisley sky
We dreamed as one
Gazing down on endless lies
We dreamed as one sharing paisley eyes
We dreamed as one sharing paisley eyes
Some day sad mob will catch us
blame us for their fate
Torches raised on high
jealous minds wide and rye
But they'll never admit their chasing
their greed, jealousy and hate
Born inside unhappiness
cruel choices that they make
We joined our true thin difference
didn’t ask each other why
We rode stitched bloody waves
In angry paisley sky
We dreamed as one
gazing down on endless lies
We dreamed as one
sharing paisley eyes
We dreamed as one
sharing paisley eyes
Our gift to hateful mob
Quixote space eternal
awkward imperfections
Prometheus connection
Fine company we’ll keep
soft lips, cool summer nights
Mary Shelly truth mute and blind
tracing lines entwined
We dreamed as one
gazing down on endless lies
We dreamed as one
sharing paisley eyes
sharing paisley eyes

Empty Crown
or
Huck Finn Ain’t Got No Fear
Tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
The night’s been long 400 years
World’s drunk too many prophet tears
Morning sun burns our eyes
and our pirate alibis
So, Tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
They’re burning books they’re banning songs
Theres no more fun drag sing alongs
Little children chopping sides of beef
In Upton’s Jungle so that we can eat
Black history’s a magic trick
Great public schools sold to hedge fund pricks
A million gods a million faiths
Only your’s is true if you scrunch your face
So, tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
Tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
We’re all Strangers in a Strange Land
Heinlein Smith sharing water with Gillian
No freedom for me none for ewes
They stole the right for us ewes to choose
I tilt my head at Twain and frown
I say, “Damn their worthless empty crowns”
Twain sits on down and stares at me
His eyes say, “What?” his mind says, “Free”
So, tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
Jim, you and me talk and smile
walking quiet mile by mile
When we get there we’ll dive and be
in river wide brown Mississippi
No expectations, no real relations
no names, just celebrations
Without the hate, faith and guns
Without the Yahtzee rhyme
Jim, you and me sinking in
into cool water we’re born again
into our dreams brand new unknown
swept up and floating life’s sweet groan
So, tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
Tip us over take our phones
We’re Mark Twain’s rolling stones
Or take us anywhere like here
We’re all Huck Finn ain’t got no fear
