      Megan this!!!! ⬆️ i have 0 strength in my hands and since moving to my own apartment i’ve had to come up with different ways to do stuff to be able to cook. my kitchen is also full of tools i’ve gotten from the hospital but also everyday ’gadgets’ like these to make things easier!

    • @trekadouble757
      @trekadouble757 4 года назад +351

      Disabled people, children, old people too. Some gadgets can help children to be interested in cooking, some can prevent them from making a big mess in the kitchen, some can help them if they lack strength or dexterity. Same with old people, my grandma cooked all her life, but she didn't have the energy to clean everything afterward anymore. Anything that would help her keep the kitchen clean was wanted.

    Batter Dispenser: It works but isn't worth the money, you can just pour it.
    Spreader: This is actually a professional tool for crepes. It works great.
    Sushi Machine: Helpful for beginners, but once you get the hang of hand made sushi you won't need it. Also it's pretty small, and confusing at first.
    Pattern Roller: It's very fun if you get a decent one that cuts better.
    Ice Cream Sandwich Maker: Looks like a lot of fun and a good project for beginners at cooking and baking.
    I'm not experienced with any of this by the way, but this is what I thought from the video :)

      Yah. Calling the pancake tool a gadget is like calling a spoon a gadget. Pattern roller is also not exactly a gadget, it's a professional decorating tool - so like calling piping bag a gadget... but the real ones would rather be metal or ba a whole decorated rolling pin, not just a plastic knock-off.

    wouldn't it be easier to make ice cream sandwiches by making two big sheets of the cookie and then layering ice cream on one of them and putting the second cookie on top, freezing it, then cut it into rectangles? You wouldn't have to go through the struggle of making sure none of the batter or ice cream went outside of the edges, and popping it out? And you can make it as thick as you want.

      I've never seen one of those before but I'd love to have one. I have to tilt my pan to spread the batter. It depends on whether you live in a country/area where crepes are commonly made - I'm the only person among my friends and family who ever makes crepes so no one I know would have idea what that was for or would ever use it.

    I've used a ladle for crepe batter for over 30 years, just like my mom. Always works perfectly.:) So while that batter dispenser seems to work well, I would say never. A ladle I can wash in the washing machine and it's easy to store.
    For the sushi roller also never. A bamboo mat is easy enough for even beginners. I started with that and everything went just fine.
    The ice cream sandwhich thing is clever.:) I could see myself using it. I can't have cocoa due to allergies, so I could make my own sandwhich batter without cocoa powder.

      Those batter dispensers are in use in professional and mass production environments everywhere you find pancakes in the US. But they are designed to dispense a measured amount and made of stainless steel. One person can lay out a line of 20-30 pancakes on a griddle in a few seconds and they will all be ready to flip in the same order just as fast. No returning to a bowl to refill a ladle.

    Interesting medical fact! The device shown for making the lattice design pie top is the same kind of device that is used for burn victims and the skin that will be used to heal the badly burned areas. Instead of rolling the tool over the skin (that's being used to help heal the burned areas), the skin goes through the machine. It allows the skin to be stretched over larger areas and also provides more elasticity for range of motion during healing and PT! It's interesting how so many kitchen gadgets look like medical gadgets! 🥰💖
