  • After 5 months my adventure through Scandinavia comes to an end, as I take the ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn. I continue through the Baltic countries, where I follow large stretches of the Trans Euro Trail (TET). Long endless gravel roads took me to the far south-east corner of Estonia. I cycled up Suur Munamagi, the highest point in the Baltic countries and took a 1km detour through Russia. On bumpy washboard roads I found my way to the capital of Latvia, Riga, where I stocked up on fruits and vegetables at Europe's largest market. In Lithuania I saw the hill of crosses and I got invited to stay with Lithuanians. The Baltic countries may not be the most spectacular, but they are beautiful to cycle if you love nature and quiet dirt roads.
