A great demo of its amphibious capability. I’ve not been able to fly my PowerEgg X much due to the lockdown in the UK, and I haven’t had chance to even open the waterproof kit yet. Some info on the APP... I had an email from my Powervision Deep Throat Source and informed that an update will be released on the 19th June. This is mainly to address compatibility issues with European Samsung devices. As for the maps not showing up. I’m not sure if this could be a Google Versus Huawei issue (I use a P30) but if you download the APP from the Powervision site and side load it the maps work fine, though there’s still an issue getting the maps to full screen by tapping the icon multiple times. The last update they did (end of May) improved the camera performance and I’ve not experienced any frame drops in 4K@60fps since.

It appears that the drone knows when it is using the waterproof case, so the message you're getting about not using the waterproof case is a bug in the software. When you pop on the case it disables the sensors because the front sensors are blocked, and this how it knows the case is being used. Man, that water looks amazing!

With the enclosure on, the sides are terribly blurry. Unless you are cropping down, the image really suffers.

Nice video! Due to the drone may flip over the water...it is required for Additional water equipment: Snorkeling equipment, Kayak, etc. It seems that they need to do a little more work on the drone. Additional to that the plastic case is not allowing the camera to record a clear video, is kind of a little blurry. Overall is a nice fun drone to fly. Thank you for taking your time of doing this review, may good bless you.

It's a cool drone. I loved it. If the case was all clear without those lines that would be way better but hey it went into the water..you saved it and it worked perfectly. The video I think was really good. Your definitely the best at doing all the tricky stuff that other reviewers will not do. Yeah awesome loved it. Plus it's beautiful where you live.. You could take small rubber bands and put them on the legs to stop the velcro straps from getting close to the motors
or they just make the legs lock in,

I think that Power vision is trying to say that owners MUST use the pontoons and the waterproof shell together every time you fly over water.... can't fly with one accessory without the other.
I lost my Drone with pontoons but not the shell .... it flipped , stayed afloat , and got water damaged beyond repair.
Sorry for your loss. yes I'd think you'd want both on when flying over water 🍻
And the motors are supposed to survive the contact with salt water?
So far as long as you flush well with freshwater then power blow dry

Please do a Mavic 2 range test again. There is a firmware update that increased the range to 10km.
Looks like the case really messes with the focus, seems outta focus sometimes. When the camera is pointed way down can deff see a bit of distortion. Very kul to be able to fly around and in the water without too much risk though. Another great video review, thanks again!
First time to watch your video and discover this egg drone! Amazing to know actually there's so many choices in the market beside DJI before gettin my own. Awesome review anyway and just to let you know the footage with the waterproof kit is merely acceptable for just the sake of getting a drone footage, with some limitation like blurry edges and blocking down view. I wonder how the footage without the kit.. checking out on your other video later. Anyway I still enjoyed your review and keep it flowing Bro! 👊😎

Great video but I wouldnt be buying one of those. The camera footage recorded within the waterproof shell gives everything a blue tint which isn't good. Battery life not great, flaws with the drone not detecting the waterproof shell etc...nah, not for me. Great video though, really enjoyed it

The video from inside that clear plastic case looks blurry (a bit more perhaps after the dunk), varying over the screen, and distorted in places. As a photographer it's not really of usable quality. If I wanted to do some shots over water I'd probably take my chances with a Mavic Mini or something. :)

I don't think it would be. Another drone is too small to focus on. I've tried to follow another drone with mine it's almost impossible

Now that upgraded to the mavic Air 2, I've often thought about strapping on 1L empty bottles to the bottom of my old holy Stone hs700 see if I can use it as a seaplane lol.
That's some waterproof drone, but wouldn't the seawater damage the unprotected brushless motors?
Giving them a rinse with tap water and blowing them dry, they're ok. Letting water sit and evaporate in them is bad.

another entertaining and educational video in a beautiful setting ! thank you for that dustin ! the video quality looks terrible in the case.. maybe the quality of the plastic and waviness of it didn't help... how were the motors able to handle ocean salt water? i wonder if things would deteriorate in a few days from corrosion... also what app are you using for screen recording on android ? is it built into the os ? thanks.
Washing with freshwater thoroughly and blowing them out to dry seems to keep them working. AZ screen recorder 🍻

SwellPro can be immersed in water (including seawater environment), and can shoot underwater pictures

Brushless motors don’t care much about water... just rinse them afterwards.
I really want to like this drone. I love the innovation of the Poweregg X. It seems to fly well. It's intelligent flight modes work decent enough. The camera is the downfall. I have the same comment from your other video. The video it produces looks soft from a distance. Sometimes the fpv looked better. At first I thought it was the the case. At the times when you're close to the rocks it's very clear. A different youtube reviewer made a similar statement. Flight video was ok. When he used it as a camcorder it was great.
Tpe picture quality from inside the case is horrible compared to what I saw from the swellpro.
Funny how you tried to arm the propellers when the drone was upside down in the water.. lol
To try and get it to flip over.
@@DustinDunnill Even if the drone could arm the propellers upside down., the motors only spin in one direction. It would just try to go deeper into the water
Unless you put some roll in to make one side thrust more and flip

So I live on the Oregon coast. And I enjoy sitting out on my deck watching you (with binoculars of course) live doing your dronies... I can see Maui! Haha! Just kidding.
Anyway, like Hawaii, it is often wet here. Obviously if it's an actual rain storm then there's no flying to be had, but we often get those really bright days that are overcast with a tad of drizzle. Those are some of the best days to film and I think the Power Egg X would be the one for this. However I feel like the video is quite out of focus. I have seen this with videos without the waterproof case but it certainly seems to be much fuzzier than is tolerable, even for RUclips videos. I was getting a headache watching the video and it was a relief when you switch back to your head cam. I seem to see that other people are reporting the same thing. Obviously the case gives some distortion and blurriness and that is to be expected and I feel it could be mitigated with careful choreography, but the out of focus blurriness is practically unusable. It's most clear directly in the center. I also noticed that the gimbal is quite jerky.
It seems that PowerVision nailed the waterproof case. Now if they can just get the flight characteristics up to snuff they could have a contender to battle DJI. Unfortunately I don't see PowerVision getting the Power Egg X to that level.
At some point when you have a chance, it would be great to see a comparison between the Power Egg X and the Splash Drone 3 and the SpryDrone.

Seems like they should have made stoppers or something so those floater straps don't move up against the motors, I'd think vibration would cause that.

Why the video is out of focus? Because of waterproof housing? Or you forget to focus? Or it's just problem with camera?
It's a cool drone but the tech isn't there yet to move me to the waterproof drone corner. I'll get my wallet out when it can land on water, turn into a mini sub and then back to a drone :)
It has a blurry ring about 2 inches out of the center. How were the Props after having the salty water on it ? Is it easy to clean ? Or you just sprayed it with a water hose ?

You have to download off line maps on android for my HolyStone being there is no internet connection I would think Apple probably has a forced offline maps storage.
