I am going to Madeira for the first time next August for a week, I am Portuguese but never been to Madeira so this video was amazing for tips of things to do and places to go, and your house looks amazing!! Congrats everything looks perfect, can I stay in your house?' ... just kidding!! Not :)))
Hello Joen and Amelia... My son and I have been following you since a long time ago. He was the one who introduced me to this channel, because I'm Portuguese born in Funchal, and when I was just 3 months old my parents decided to move to Brazil (Sao Paulo). My mother is from São Roque and my father is from Santo Antonio in Alamos. They use to date eatch other at "Pico dos Barcelos" under a Tree that is still there! . I grew up in love with my Island. It couldn't be any different, because my father was photographer at "Photo Perestrellos" at that time (whose photos are in the Atelier Vicente's Photography Museum there on the island. I was born in Madeira but I never lived there... however, it has lived inside me since forever. I look forward to the day when I can live there. I grew up in Brazil (Sao Paulo) but throughout my childhood I wrote letters to "Bazar do Povo", to my grandfather who worked there. I went to see my beautiful Island in person when I was an adult woman, and I recognized every place I was there because I remembered the photos my father showed me when I came And... because I worked for many years at Brazilian Arlines, I went there some more times. Then....18 years ago, my son (a teenager at the time) and I came to the England.. and we hope to return to Madeira one day and have the joy of meeting you two and the sweet Bela somewhere. It will be simply magical, as we are your great admirers. We greatly appreciate all your work. Your house is so beautiful! You deserve it! You deserve to be living in Madeira. You two add a lot to this Island. We love vices so much! ✿•♡•✿ (*•.♡.•*´) ✿•♡•✿ PS- Sorry for the long comment. Impossible to write less lol

I have been enjoying your posts for a while. Always very entertaining and informative. Thank you for that. I love Madeira and I’m probably going to move there. Upcoming election is pretty scary. 😮 At any rate. I wondered if you guys were connected to Jeff at hit the road Madeira?
and since we are talking about pine trees, and if I were in your place... I would consider planting pine trees, I would want those roots deep in the ground to sustain the earth and rocks, they are the best trees for that job. you don´t want that water running loose underground making Caverns and pathways.
Hey Joen, I had a sword EXACTLY like yours but it was stolen some time back. Now I only have the short one and my display is incomplete. Where did you get your sword?

I would like to see Maderia manage its invasive plants and trees better, ultimately the non-native tree forests are incredibly flammable, so not only in the interest of endemic species but also for fire/fuel management.
@stayclassyvlog I respectfully disagree. When it goes up in flames it will cost an awful lot more to manage the fire and property damage, etc, than to tackle the problem right now on and ongoing basis. The last thing anyone on the island wants it to lose their homes, pets, or loved ones from fire. As huge island influences and people who are interested in nature you could spearhead this effort.🥰😍🤩
