You created another miracle! Thanks a million for the thorough review and the comparison, so glad to know you have a great experience with FIFINE K688.😇
Another excellent review ... The good news is I've already ordered the k688 from your suggestions in Amazon ❤️ ❤❤🎉 .. waiting to receive... Thnkxx dude! ❤️😊 And waiting for am8 vs k688
Does the dual output (USB & XLR) of K688 operate alternately or can they be used simultaneously? If they can be used simultaneously, is it possible as a backup in case one of them encounters an issue? How about AM8? Can the USB & XLR be used simultaneously? I appreciate your assistance.
The Elgato may have a slightly better sound over xlr. However its only an xlr and that's it. no bells and whistles. No shock mount. No usb. really depends if that's all you're going to us it for.
This mic doesn’t need phantom power. It could do damage over time if used and may not make much of a difference. This is one of the more quiet dynamic mics.
@@TekToyzGaming I was just wondering about the dynamic Microphones. isn't the sm7b a dynamic microphone? That is very quiet. I had to get a booster for that
@@joshuagood4237 yes the sm7b is dynamic. One of the more expensive ones. It doesn’t need phantom, but yea would need to get a gain booster for it. Means spending more.
I already used this for streaming yesterday and my background noise is so loud like there's construction around 50 meters fromm my house. I used Noise supp. from OBS and Noise cancel from Nvidia Broadcast and no more noise yet sound crisp and clear just add EQ and Compressor from OBS. Very good mic for it's price.
Great video, I am sitting here messing with my SC3 mixer and K688 as I type this. I was curious if the Audio Mixer filters within stream labs work when the mic is in XLR mode? I am using mine via XLR and can't tell a bit of difference with the noise suppression filter applied.
I believe if you apply the filters to the mixer in something like OBS it should work. However you can hear the filter applied if you’re listening to it via the monitoring over the mixer.
Thank you for the response. I have another question regarding the SC3 Mixer that you might be able to help me out with. I saw a couple videos on RUclips to where you could use a splitter to connect the line in and line out together out of the mixer with a splitter and then plug into your phone (it was a different mixer than the SC3 in the videos) I purchased a 3.5mm splitter to connect my line in and line out into and then connected the single end of my splitter into my iPhone with a dongle but when I do that nothing from the mixer goes into my phone (XLR mic audio or SFX from the custom buttons). Is the line in port shutting down the line out port or is it because im using a double ended TRRS cord from the mixer into the splitter (its the cord from my Beats Studio Pro headphones) or is the SC3 not capable of doing this at all with a splitter? @@TekToyzGaming
@@TheRandallArgo good question here. I can’t say for sure if this will work with the sc3. Haven’t tried this one yet. It’s possible it may be getting cancelled out or it’s not possible on the device you’re trying it on. The sc3 may have the same results. You can try hitting up @fifine youtube.com/@FIFINE?si=YB5ZE15ZhCFaHFOP They can probably tell you for sure what’s that particular capability.
Hi, Im torn between the K688 and the AM8, i know this is a K688 video but with the AM8 using the plastic stand that came with it, does it reject keyboard sound well? I dont mean completely but to an extent since it doesnt have a shock mount.
Any mic that is on a table that the keyboard is on is going to pick up some keyboard and table noise. Either one of these on a boom arm is the quietest way to go.

@@TekToyzGaming Thanks again. The point therfore is for the general users would it be worth adding a decent XLR cable + an audio interface for perhaps little benefit, as opposed to simply using USB connectivity...just my own opinion.

Thanks 🙏🏼 and Nice! I’m still using the k688. I’m really liking it. That vs battle will be coming soon 👍🏽
ive been using this mic for a while its a great mic esp for the price
I can’t agree more 👍🏽
Nice review man. Do you know how this compares to the Fifine AM8?
Hey thanks for the visit. I know exactly how this fares against the am8. Check it out ruclips.net/video/Z8Xw6Y3zaPU/видео.htmlsi=dn0VzqCajEEIPMOs

You can use them simultaneously. I record both at the same time as well and get 2 separate audio tracks to work with.
Can you compare it to the Elgato DX or tell if you think the Fifine K688 is better than the Elgato Wave DX
The Elgato may have a slightly better sound over xlr. However its only an xlr and that's it. no bells and whistles. No shock mount. No usb. really depends if that's all you're going to us it for.
Wait so , if your connected with xlr the controls on the mic don’t work you have to go through the audio interface to make changes ?
That is 100% correct. That’s the case with all xlr/usb mics.
Can you use phantom power for the mic.? is it even needed. It just seems a bit quiet and I wondered whether it would do it any damage
