- This Intamin megacoaster opened in 2001 and has consistently been ranked as one of the top steel coasters on the planet. What sets it apart from similar coasters is its 82° drop that makes a 74° right-hand turn at the top of the 184 foot (56 m) plunge to start the ride.
Check out the other on-ride video we posted to see what it's like to be in the front seat of this thrilling coaster: • Expedition GeForce fro...

Backseat on GeForce is awesome the first drop makes you fly so hard
The restraints must really pin you down in your seats because nobody was lifting up on the airtime hills.

What is your favorite Intamin mega coaster
You should do typhoon at santa cruz
Sometimes I´m wondering if there is any real reason why the track twists back a bit to the left at the end of the drop or if that was some sort of mistake.
I think it's because it keeps its momentum a little bit longer than the usual (allowing the twist to reach a higher acceleration value, thus a more intense twisting motion). This is probably why this particular twisted drop feels snappier and stronger than most of the other ones that have been built since. IMO it's also the reason EGF's first drop is still one of the best in the world, even after all these years.
(it's something you can find on other maneuvers, such as Maverick's second stengel dive or some of Taron's twists during its second half. I believe this momentum phenomenon is also the reason why Wodan's fly-through is oddly shaped.)
