How to Reset a Fire Alarm Pull Station
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 сен 2024
- Every day, hundreds of firefighters, maintenance personnel, and other workers in the fire safety industry are put to the task of figuring out how to reset a pulled fire alarm pull station. With dozens of different types, brands, and models of pull stations this process can be difficult for those with little experience with this equipment. This video goes over some of the most common, and uncommon fire alarm pull stations and shows how each is pulled and reset.
To save time in the video, I did not show every single model of pull station I have (we'd probably be here a while) but after watching 17 minutes of this, I'd imagine the process becomes self-explanatory. Thank you for viewing!

Fun fact for those who didn’t know: the BG-10 was released in 1983, and the BG-12 was released in 1999.
Another fun fact: The BG12 series has been in production longer then the BG10 series.

I knew that as well-these alarms never get old! I personally thought the Fire-Lite BG-12 came out in the late-2000s after I was born…
Thank you! An alarm station at our Makerspace was knocked open last year, and we couldn't figure out how to reset it. We just taped it shut and that's been ok. Today someone accidentally pulled one, and I found this reset video, and you had one of ours (the Simplex at 5:10) and I got them both fixed today.
At my moms shop there is a fire riser room with a wheelock alarm outside
Keep in mind, Do not tape it again that's illegal.
Bg 10 I actually have one of those to my hand right now as I speak

I recognize the notifier pull. They used it in the elementary and middle schools in my old district. The simplex “push in and pull down” they had in the middle school when I moved to a new district, and then the T pull they used in the junior high and high school.

Great video. FYI, the Gamewell/FCI pull station at 10:48 is actually made by Signal Communications (SigCom) in Woburn, MA. These can be branded under many different names as is the one you have, and can be single or dual action, toggle or momentary switch and can include a glass bar visible through the open window below the T-handle.
14:04 that is the model they use in my church.

If you want more fire alarms run through the fire alarm store to buy your own fire alarms so I'm going to get an FCI MS2 it's dual action okay you need a lift it just said left pole fire alarm and it's a life safety Ms 51 and it's just so far like bg6 and it's because it's just an f c i m s 6 and it's a Notifier obituaries it's a Notifier bg12lx it's because they have a game well I'm 69 that's a game well M60 9 it's because that's how you need to hold down too hard and use a little hex can just push it and it just slide to cover down and otherwise all of them has any buttons and this one at the Starbucks Legend This one sure doesn't this one does and this one

Remember to never pull the fire alarm unless there's a fire
Or if you have permission to do it for a fire drill
@@jamesmccrackyn9160nope. Not even then. Pulling a fire alarm pull station will notify the fire department. Drills use a command that only sets off the fire bell.

Getting to emergencies is very important
Hey! Your an amazing youtuber, after i watched a few of your videos, now im obbsesed with them! I so far have a wheelock fire alarm strobe, and a simplex. Im pretty young, but still this is an amazing hobby, you taught we a lot!
6:37 i have that at my elementary school and its the same brand and the same look so its kind of cool to hear the words “its becoming pretty uncommon” and i can see
The west wing at my middle school has these 2:31, i believe its an addressable system. And the east wing has these 6:34, its a conventional system. Fun Fact: The west wing has Seimens (I believe rebranded) LED horn/strobes, and the east wing has Vibratone horn onlys and a grey 7002 horn. Seimens system is on code 3 and the FCI system is on continuous. Funny enough the east wing doesent have many smokies given its unsprinklered, though the 2 kitchens have Edwards recalled heat detectors every like 5 feet, XD. West campus has smoke detectors virtually EVERYWHERE which is actually suprising given that its sprinklered. Althoug the east campus was built in 1962 and was originally used as a high school, and the west campus was built in I believe 2014 maybe 2015, could be entirely different years for as far as i know. Just has to be within 2010 - 2020. One of the MS-2's at the front door is in the dual action variant but is missing the lift part, XD. Unsure what happened to it, it probably got stolen or something. (TO RUclips: I DO NOT COMMIT CRIMES, DO NOT COME AFTER ME.) Not so suprising that the pull at the entrance got accidentally pulled TWICE, its a crowded area, they put an STI Stopper on it, after they did it it WENT OFF AGAIN. Either a duct smoke or the stopper did no good.
I feel this should be made known. I recognize this Gamewell-FCI Pull Station. About 7 years ago I had got one similar to this brand new in box for christmas. (Ademco branded with Model number 5140-MPS1) The inside was different in which mine had a button. Please be observant about the pull station. It could be a button or it could be a switch (as seen here).
These videos have to be loved
Thanks for these tutorials grant I think they are important for people new to learning fire alarm systems

When you realize you watched a 20 minute video about resetting fire alarm pull stations: 👁️ 👄 👁️
I've never seen the STI push stations in buildings before, so I guess we can say those things a pretty rare to find in a building.
The brand “SIEMENS” gets me every time 😂
Without the "i" and The last "S" in SIEMENS, I'll give the comment a like.
I think you are the better fire alarm collector
That alarm that is in the cover is actually not nearly as loud as you think. The one in my school next to the classroom which is near an exit door is always coming loose for some reason, but It just sounds like a faint siren in the background.
As a junior firefighter myself our high school has had a few situations where kids, some I know have pulled the fire alarm. I was at our firehouse because I can’t run with them yet but a friend of mine got himself in huge trouble
Nice Video 🙂
14:01 those are very common here, but they’re going out. All my schools currently use them, but they’re going to BG12s
hi from the uk i have a kac callpoint
In the music building at MTSU, I found BG-6's still in use.
Quick question for you show me the storm chasing One time this is just a question .
I know this is not a topic on the video, but the older Radionics fire alarm system at my Walmart had Edwards Integerties, but the system got upgraded and now they are all L-Series. However, there is one General Notification integerty by an employee door, but I’m not sure what it’s for. It has a blue strobe btw.
Probably for notifying police as yellow strobes would be used to notify hospital staff while blue strobes would notify police.
@@brinegamersproductionsmedia yellow strobe is amber/alert
notifier is my favorite
10:51 they should call it the gamewell T-bar!
I actually have seen a sti push station in a building my mom used to work at a YMCA and in the indoor pool room there was a general emergency button on the wall
I don't know why but this is really cool
I have simplex 4903 alarms at my school. We also have 2 truealerts. And a few vintage horns. Pull stations: Simplex t bar. Every area of your school you see simplex t bars. In the first grade area there is a simplex chevron. It may or may not work. Also at our firehouse subs there is a vintage pull box.

hi s.e.r. safety this helps so much and i love your videos iv have seen almost all your videos
Who're ya
I’m starting my fire alarm collection pretty soon I just got my first pull station now I need a fire alarm
For some reason I like the bg 12 notifier and the push one
10:23 those fire alarm pull stations are in the apartment building my sister and grandma live in. The notification appliances are a large Faraday bell (I don't know the model number). What's interesting is it's a 3 story building, one pull station and one bell on each floor, no panel either. The pull stations serve as simple on/off switches for the system
That doesn’t seem up to code to me
Ive seen some waterparks repurpose the push station as a launch button
Like that pull from top pull station
This was helpful fire alarm collecting is my hobby I just got a simplex t-bar
0:46 pull, reset it and run was funny
14:48 My school has that but it says lockdown and it’s blue with a cover
Great vid Grant!!! I found the pull station at 6:00 really interesting and really neat tbh!
I saw a BG 6 in a warehouse and in a dentist office today. They both had the weelock 7002t's.
For the STI push station ive seen them at my local gas station for the emergency shutoff and they are yellow
Yeah ive seen those too
@Silvia Centeno Same here but I seen a yellow stopper over it
@@wcentralflweather the ones i see also have a yellow stopper over them

Hello I’m a 11 year old kid and I wanted your opinion on something so I love fire alarms and I’m going to be buying a pull station here soon and I wanted to know what you think would be better so these are the 2 I like
The Honeywell FireLite BG-12S
And
The 2099-9759 SIMPLEX
What do you think is better out of those two??
Could you show the reset procedure for on of the prison fire pull stations that are key activated?
Just open it with the key or tool and flip the switch and close it. If it’s a button then just close it again. Kinda like a simplex t bar
I'm upsest of the simplex push pull down and simplex pull down and the lift then pull handle and lift and pull push in pull down
I seen one of those fire stop sign Push before
some of the simplex T-Bar pull stations use a hex key
I know a building near me with Fire-Lite BG-6 pull stations
This is my fav video
14:02 I’ve seen this in my local Applebee’s a lot of times (since my family goes there almost every Monday)
Lucky!!!
I just got like 30 Siemens rebranded zns / zrs and unboxing it felt like one of your massive unboxing vids lol
1:00 oh I love that pull station
I saw the Edwards 278B 1120 at BJ’s in Massachusetts
Nice video! But you forgot the 270 spo
14:48 They have these in Blue in my district with a "Lockdown" label And they close all of the fire shutters and locks them to isolate a threat and set off blue flashing lights in the loud environments like the gym, music, and vocational classrooms.
I have seen the sti push station before but only on a specific building I used to go to
I love fire alarms
Way back i saw the rare to find one
On the MS-2, you’re not supposed to just open it and then close it because it can cause damage to the pull station. That’s why it’s recommended at all times to just open it, manually flip the switch, and then close it.
Billy already know that he scream like everybody wake up it's Christmas morning and there's a ton of presents and Tommy said whoa that is a lot of presents Billy is Michael said I'm so excited I can't believe what Santa brought me and his mom said whoa hold up RUclips all those presents are Billy's presents you two made a naughty list this year
Also, the MS-6 you showed actually is much more like a BG-8, and I think you should have demonstrated that.
On another note, I think the Gamewell-FCI t-bar you showed is an MS-95T. I do know they're originally made by SigCom, marketed as the Sentry series. Most of those I've seen are branded by Bosch.
Great video! Keep up the great work and thanks for your service to the community!

Where can I get a BG10 pull Station with a key? For whatever reason I cannot find it on the Internet.
Good morning. We have 3 Fire-Lite BG12LO manual fire alarm boxes. The locks cannot open because of corrosion. Our alarm company wants $700.00 to replace them. Is there any way we could use something to loosen the lock? Thank you.
You missed the one next to the gamewell FCI, single action pull station and NBG 12 LX
I seen a sti push station but it was used as a emergency shut off
My favorite is BG 6
Does the Bg-10 have a special key hex key? I've tried both standard and metric and it's bigger than 3mm but smaller than 4
Fun fact Grant I saw the yes EST FX - 278BAnd also an EST genesis at
BJ’s at Massachusetts
does fire light have the same model as notifier or did notifier company later rebrand, also for the cover are you saying the pull station itself makes noise too or is it just cause an alarm is close to it typically
Excellent
Is it sad that I know more about fire alarms than the fire alarm/security system technicians? I swear some “qualified” technician couldn’t reset a pull station, and I literally just said “let me try it” and I got it reset instantly.
WAIT! You forgot the Edwards 270-SPO

When she was a kid, my great aunt mistook a pull station for a gum ball machine and woke up everyone in a hotel early in the morning. The fire marshal was not happy to hear what had happened!
