This video is a sign from the stationary gods. I was actually planning on getting a plain hobonichi and cherry picking parts that I enjoy from the BuJo method and the techo into something that is wholly mine. Ann took the words right out of my mouth. Eliminate as much friction as possible so you actually want to write in your journal/planner. It took a lot of trial and error but these videos, the giant assortment of items you carry, along with the in-depth guides have been instrumental in getting me to my eventual goal.
I always thought, oh, I'm not a "planner person," but recent life events and especially *this video* have led to me buying the Kokuyo Jibun Techo First Start kit, and the Midori Chiratto tabs. I've watched this video (multiple times, lol), and the one with Connie from 4 years ago, and the one with Ann, from 2.5 years ago. Jetpens, and these three generous employees, you have rocked my world!
I thought I was going back to the Hobonichi Techo Cousin. But seeing the Kokuyo Jibun Techo has an A5--and Anna's right, I don't need daily pages. Maybe I should have a separate memory keeping journal instead--has me rethinking. Great video. Planner Season is truly upon us.
I love the Jibun techo lite so cool that it's available in A5. It's an underrated planner that doesn't get too much love on RUclips. Thanks for sharing!
The idea to use the squares as 10min blocks is so brilliant. I got so excited to use it to time log my tasks for work since I was having trouble trying to figure out a simple way to do in my planner without taking so much room. Thank you!
Ann, you are my new planning HERO. I’m entering a period when I’m working, doing personal projects, taking skills courses AND preparing to apply for more work - so this planning style looks absolutely perfect. I always thought the Hobonichi was more artistic and the Kokuyo was more focused. That Gantt chart in the monthlies is genius!
Love the detailed way to use this planner! I discovered the Jibun Techo in 2021, and have been in love with it ever since. It's the only planner that works for me. I got the Lite version this year and loved how it doesn't contain all the other components of the regular diary. Just perfect for my daily activity tracking at work and my personal life :)
Loved watching your video and seeing how you, as someone keen to all stationary possibilities, choses which products to use and why ;) Super interesting, and a few new products went into my cart as well as an innovative new technique for using the grids to track my time: GENIUS ! Thank you!
Thank you, Anh for sharing how you use your planner. When my son's ADHD medicine is finally giving him more control, I'm going to try your method. He needs help with executive skills and time management.
As an adult with ADHD (only diagnosed 10 years ago) I'm happy to see a parent involved in problem solving! I'm curious about the comment of meds giving more control. Mine help my ability to focus, but where I direct my focus is not controlled by meds. I even stopped taking my meds for a few years because the control factor was more about undoing old habits and rewiring new ones. I finally sought therapy to help with underlying habits/issues and resumed the meds. All that aside, the right planner can feel like a magic wand! 😁 But it only works if it is used and using a planner, like anything, takes practice and learning, especially for kids. If your son is young he may be more compelled to use a planner if he can decorate it with fun stickers, use a favorite pen/pencil, etc. And again depending on age, keeping the pencil/pen attached to the planner will increase its effectiveness. (can't find pencil, goes looking for pencil, finds distraction thing, planner forgotten). I'm a huge proponent of planners and frixion pens (I should be a JetPens spokesperson for frixion products!) but my child with ADHD prefers the Pentel Twist Erase. How can I not persuade my own kid to join the frixion revolution?! Wishing you and your amazing neurodivergent child all the best!
Really awesome system! There are so many different templates and layouts out there, but seeing one used in practice helps tremendously. I'm inspired to try it for myself! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you, Ann! I am trying to pick a planner for the New Year and I am sorely tempted by this one! I like the set up a lot! I will definitely be ordering the sticky notes today. I need a daily to do but I don’t want it in a planner and if it’s fountain pen friendly all the better.
What uncanny timing for this video to appear just as I was pondering getting a planner to organize my story-writing! I'm a seasoned procrastinator when it comes to writing and uploading chapters. In my curiosity, I looked to the Jibun Techo Lite's weekly vertical format as a possible way to allot or block out composition, editing, and chapter release times. Adding one to my basket is now more likely than I think. Personal experience with the Uni-ball One: it's the only gel pen whose ink *doesn't* transfer to another page if I wrote too hard on the surface opposite where the ink was. (And yeah, I tend to press pen tips hard on paper, especially ballpoint pens.)
Hi Ann!! I am so similar, aaaa this was so cool!! Thank you for sharing, I’m definitely going to consider the Jibun Techo for my planner next year and I’ll pick up that MD block memo pad LOL. I function on random scraps of paper and every time I try to start a notebook it never works for me. 😂 It’s so nice to see my planner style represented!! Side note - syllabus week was my favorite in college because it meant I got to put together my master list of assignments, readings, and due dates. 🤣
I never considered each square to be 10mins Ann you're a genius I feel you tho, I also leave work stuff at work cause I'm forgetting things ALL the time xD
Anne: I leave all my writing stuff at work, Nothing Comes Home With Me, and I Won’t Forget Anything!😃 Me: I sometimes leave stuff at work But Then The Minute I Get Home, I’ve Forgotten About Almost Everything And Need Reminder Notes!😓
Hi, Im returning back to school (college) an Im changing my carrier, I have been in the closet for my secret love for stationary. Now that Im older I embrace my love for this an other thing in my life. Im writing to say thank you for making this channel. The chips you all give are helpful with awesome items to buy. It’s hard for me to decide so I rely on my niece to keep me focused. But as a person with dyslexia I need a little more info on how to with my planer, I got everything thing you suggested here. For if there is away I can get someone to talk with on some more details with my new planer I would really appreciate. An is there away I can just pick up my Items I order form you guys. I live in the east bay an see it goes from the south then to where I’m at over to SF back to me. I sure this requires cant be done but never hurts to ask. Thank you guys for doing this Ann, I’m sure its going to help me with my next semester.
Embracing -- great term! -- physical paper and pen is statistically very helpful for dyslexia, even more so with cursive or joined-up handwriting. Best wishes in your new phase of life! Your comment is encouraging to me to take the plunge of using a planner.
:O can I just get all this put in my cart now? as a JetPens set/sampler thingy? that would be great ;_; next year's gonna be ROUGH for me in grad school. So many dates etc. . . but you also said you made your own schedule for college. Do you have your own YT that talks about that, Ms. Ann? :O College Kids Need To Know! :D
Love! Love! Love!! I tried the Midori small tab stickers. I loved the shape and feel of them but had to double stack them to stick out far enough to use them by touch. Will the metal tab slide around on one page? Will it slip off when I try flipping to that section?
Are there any correction tapes that actually WORK? I can't remember where I bought it, but I got a Tombow (?) because it had good ratings. I figured it would be a bit better quality than some cheapie thing bought at a dollar store. I think I used it twice. It got tangled up, tore, and I could not fix it for anything. I couldn't remember or find the receipt of where I bought it because I really don't use them very often. When I actually did need it, it was useless. What a waste of money! It's not like I was abusing it or anything. I take good care of my things. I was using it properly.
Every other planner that I've seen just is missing something... Vertical weeks are way more intuitive than horizontal. I'm not a big journaller, so I feel like the Hobonichi Techo Cousin would be a bit of a waste. Kokuyo's solution is one of a kind!
I'm not sure how she is actually any sort of procrastinator. . . I know that may be hard to talk about on camera, but the less organized among us would appreciate more details, even if made up! Ahem, that is, even if fictitious. As someone whose children diagnosed her as adhd in her midlife years, contemplating choosing and *using* a planner seems overwhelming. This is the first video that makes it seem helpful! The accessories all have a purpose and hit that Goldilocks spot: not too many, not too few, just right. Also the smaller size sounds more manageable.
Ann, from these videos, it appears I operate a lot like you: I strive for perfection in my calendar, but I'm a procrastinator. Is there any way you could fit in some time for a JP video that translates the how-to instructional pages of this planner? TIA!
How do you use YOUR Jibun Techo Planner? Let us know in the comments! 😊
See I am a jetpens addict. The video was uploaded 2 min ago and i am already watching it. ❤❤❤
Me too 😂😂

I find it very helpful to see these actual use cases for the products! This one in particular struck a chord with me. Thanks for the video!

This is a very satisfying video! It's wonderful seeing the specific ways you're using things. Thank you! 🎉
The idea to use the squares as 10min blocks is so brilliant. I got so excited to use it to time log my tasks for work since I was having trouble trying to figure out a simple way to do in my planner without taking so much room. Thank you!

This is my 2nd or 3rd time watching this and I really appreciate the "find a planner you'll actually use. the less friction the better" tip! So true!
Love the detailed way to use this planner! I discovered the Jibun Techo in 2021, and have been in love with it ever since. It's the only planner that works for me. I love her reviews. She’s so petty and smart.
Thanks for this vid! Now I'm convinced to try a Jibun Techo. I have been using a TN Weekly Vertical as my work planner.
Loved watching your video and seeing how you, as someone keen to all stationary possibilities, choses which products to use and why ;) Super interesting, and a few new products went into my cart as well as an innovative new technique for using the grids to track my time: GENIUS ! Thank you!
I love Ann's videos. I have never seen this planner before but I live the lay out and will definitely be looking into it.
ironic that i watch this while im procrastinating 😂 But thank you! definitely looking to implement some of the tips here!
The uni-ball one gel pen has become my new favorite non-fountain pen, of all time
I've been looking for a good task-oriented scheduler for aaaaages and this looks PERFECT, thank you!
I love love my Jibun Techo ❤ Trying out the lite for 2024 and I couldn’t be happier. I keep it as both my work and personal planner.
I really enjoyed seeing how you use these different products to stay productive!❤
I love Ann videos! I always overcomplicate my planner solutions 😅 but the stationery fomo is real

@@penelopefpthank you for this comment! Thought-provoking and timely!
Thank you for posting this excellent video. I get the sense that a videographer's life is most difficult.

Love these vids! I don’t have a jibun but I loved all the accessories esp the memo block that is GRID!
Thank you, Ann! I am trying to pick a planner for the New Year and I am sorely tempted by this one! I like the set up a lot! I will definitely be ordering the sticky notes today. I need a daily to do but I don’t want it in a planner and if it’s fountain pen friendly all the better.
Thanks Anh - I also love bubble tea, lol, so I love that you track it.
Bubble Tea is life 🧋😍😂
Thank you for this video! I bought a Jibun Techo lite after watching and I love it so much!

yay so nice to see videos about the jibun techo!! it's hard when the hobonichi (which I also love!) is more popular
I’d like to see a video where a group of Japanese students get together and discuss their favourite pens and stationary items with each other!😊
Great presentation. I love your relaxed and natural style. Xx

Awesome 🎉
Thank you
I love her master task list. Does she have a template for sale?
Love! Love! Love!!
I tried the Midori small tab stickers. I loved the shape and feel of them but had to double stack them to stick out far enough to use them by touch. Will the metal tab slide around on one page? Will it slip off when I try flipping to that section?
Hi there! The metal clip won't slide around on one page, it'll stay put!
@@JetPens hello Christmas list!!
Is there anything like this planner but also with daily pages? I'm almost going to the Hobonichi Cousin, but I like this monthly and weekly better
Hi there! The Jibun Techo also comes in a daily option: www.jetpens.com/Kokuyo-Jibun-Techo-DAYs-Diary/ct/6081
Just curious what program you were using before to make your schedule/task list? (the minimalist typed one at around 1:33)

Hi there! Translations are available here: www.jetpens.com/blog/Kokuyo-Jibun-Techo-English-Translations/pt/266
So why not use a digital planner and not waste paper
Because there is a difference between planning digitally and physically
As well as not having to worry about your phone crapping out or emps 😂.
