This has been one of my favourite videos from this channel! was one of the first videos that I watched when I started to get into more advanced F2L tricks. keep up the great work!
I have recently started the intuitive F2L to speed up my timings, currently at sub 30, hopefully will get sub 20 in a couple of months, I got really excited to see that you come up with the same way of solving that 2.09 as I did. Currently using my Yuxin little magic, hoping to win that Gan 356 Air M.
Came here from the giveaway video of the GAN 356 air M. I didn't know this video existed. The tip that slowing down the solves to get better, is actually really helpful. I just tried to spam the algs and therefore did not see the next pairs that you explained. Thanks!
Hey, Shawn. This is my favourite video because it helped me make my times go down a lot. I like how your tutorials aren't just based on what to do but also how to think about it.
I'm here from the giveaway video but I found this video really useful I started cubing just a year ago and I don't even know about it. It's a really great video.👍👍
didnt bother to leave a review before but am always subscribed and always like this video actually helped me get my times a bit faster slow learner here
Came here from your giveaway video and I didn’t see this video before. I will definitely use it as I’m trying to improve on my f2l to try to get to sub-20!
For the case at 3:40 you can also do R2 U' R' U R2 but only if there is nothing in the back. If there is you can do a B' at the beginning then the algorithm then a B to put it back.
My number 1 Tipp for F2L is: be confident! After some practice, most of the f2l cases will be in your muscle memory. Use that and actively look for the next pair while creating and inserting the current pair. At some extend this is also possible for last pair -> OLL and OLL -> PLL. After some time you will have a "feel" which pieces are going to stay in place and which are going to move around. From that you can already reduce the possible OLLs / PLLs you might get.
Came here beacause of the GAN 356 AIR M GIVEAWAY and i think this F2L tips are so advance for me can't imagine if i can practice this within a short time
Thanks for this video! It helped me a lot with making F2L, but can you also make a video about how to find your corner and edge fastest for your F2L pair? And could you also tell me how long you do about your F2L.
It is easier to identify corner so often those will appear first bite there is not one specific color you want to look for. When you insert pairs make sure to do them in the back first if possible that way it'll be easier to spot other pieces in the front. I have been doing a different method for the past couple months but the first two layers are usually finished in seven or eight seconds on average.
@@SpeedCubeReview Thanks for the help. During my PB (27.36 seconds) I did 14 seconds on my F2L, so I still have some practice to do. By the way, like you, I also started to learn a little bit about Roux.I also have a question about that. If you're busy with the first step and you make for example the block on the blue side. How can you know that you have to insert the blue and red corner and edge at the front or the orange and blue? In CFOP you can look at the centers but not in Roux.
It's being comfortable with knowing the colors without the centers. I often have to look at a corner and see how it will be in relation to the DL edge to remember how it is placed currently. An edge can be placed backwards, but if let's say white is down the corner will always be oriented.
Came from giveaway video. But I remember once you replied to FB post by noobie that there is nothing called advanced F2L, and U said it's just bunch of algorithms and you prefer the intuitive way. Just recalled that with the video title.
Correct. I say that algorithms are not "advanced" and there is no one specific things called "advanced F2L." These tips are for people who want more than what is in the beginner one.
+Brendan Hayter Nice. I started violin in 6th grade and now making a living doing it. Just have fun. I have a bunch of free music and reference charts on my personal site (no pop music though, I don't want to get sued). Feel free to check it out at ShawnBoucke.com
Thanks for the tips ! I’m sub 40 seconds and I’m struggling with improving my f2l time, but this will really help me a lot. (Btw your violin skills are really cool and good) Edit: and I’m here for the giveaway
at 2:20, I do that alg when I have a pair in back, and then just cancel into inserting that other pair xD just like you did there. No rotations that way.

Tip at 2:39 is the best
Hi. I’m still improving my f2l. Nice video. I learned about the sledge hammer that will preserve the pair :) also the rotationless tips :)
