I am on a Corne layout keyboard, the Piantor Pro. And I love the minimalistic design. I absolutely love the three thumb keys and find it amazing that you adopted keyboards with just two thumb keys.

To halcyon my friend (great song. It ties nicely with your keyboard journey).

Haven't tried splits, yet, but my journey started with Model M (AZERTY), then Model F XT (QWERTY), then M0110 (60% QWERTY) and next will be a Reviung34 (unibody). Moved from AZERTY to ANSI US Intl when I started my software engineer career. Will move to Seniply (Colemak-DH based) on the Reviung (once soldered).

How do your last keyboard's communicate with each other without trrs cable? Are they two independent ble keebs? If so, can you still change layers from the other half?

Yeah ZMK boards can sync wirelessly using the nice!nanos. They behave as if they’re connected via trrs - no perceivable lag.

Ben, which keycaps are you using with chocs? Also which size are thumb keys on your piano keyboards?

    • @BenVallacksKeyboards

      mkultra.click/mbk-choc-keycaps/ - 1.5u on the thumbs.

If you are into POM (I am) mkultra has mbk chocs in POM and also mbk convex in POM which are supposed to be good for thumbs (no sharp edges_)
I think there may be mbk convex in PBT (or maybe ABS or both?) at some point in the near-ish future.

      @@BenVallacksKeyboards Please clarify the measurement used: 1.5 u = 1 5 'mu'? mm? cm?
Any idea if these work with small hands, small fingers? Because I certainly don't have large/men's hands, yet the world is made for them....

@@ggad1899 1u stands for one unit, there unit is size of regular alpha key. Choc keycaps and spacing are more compact in comparison to regular MX style.

Are those last few keyboards all using Choco switches?

      Yep

@@BenVallacksKeyboards Thanks. I'm thinking of building a split Ortho keyboard with thumbsticks on both sides to control the mouse cursor and arrow keys, but to be more versatile and swappable (commands) to still with a few thumb buttons. I'm trying to decide if I should go dactyl with mx switches or flat with Choco.
