This is a wonderfully designed home. It looks simple yet very detailed. You can tell the architects involved are truly incredible. The structural engineering is fabulous. I love the roofing material, the buried gutters, the interior kitchen design, the use of white oak, the tall ceiling in the foyer, the smart use of attic space to create secret rooms, and the outdoor space. It has a lot going for it. It's a lovely home for a family. The only thing I winked at was the gas stove. I was also curious if it had a basement and an HVAC system. 9.8 out of 10!
Did you not like the gas stove? I thought the induction/gas combo was pretty unique! No basement in this one and the house has a heat pump system for both heating and cooling - there are hidden vents in the ceilings throughout!
I like the ceiling heights and hidden vents. For Gas, It’s just a personal preference. They’ve designed a wonderful home. Could be an eco friendly house without gas and all the respiratory stuff that comes with it inside a house. Not a deal breaker. Just preference. It’s a gorgeous home and speak volumes.
Wow, some pretty tough comments! Fantastic home, albeit on this tiny exposed lot. Not sure how it is designed, permitted and built on that piece of somewhat prime (from a zip code perspective) real estate for less than 3.9 at that quality, and from scratch, with a pool, but kudos to someone who can make money on that aspect of it. The lack of street facade glazing belies the overall exposure issues mentioned by most, and a missed opportunity for ambient north light. You know it took a long time to build if they have an outlet on the end of the island, since that has been not allowed for 22 months. High quality project for sure.
100%. I saw the zoom-out, double yellow lines, and a corner lot; who pays that kind of money for a location like that, cars constantly. Beautiful house - cringe location. It probably would have been better to combine lots with a adjoining lot.
People from the street can see straight into your backyard, like in the video I can clearly see cars passing by...that's a no no, especially for 4 millions.
Busy corner... that seems shoehorned into this lot... (there used to be a single home on this property that was demolished to accompany 2 - 3 homes) (Note aerial view at 1:56) I think when buying in Dunthorpe people want privacy and space... this offers neither, sadly.
Agreed, might have been a better plan to orient the home towards the lower traffic side street and place a privacy fence or natural barrier on the busier side (per street view of the old arrangement it looks like part of that property used a hedge to act as that buffer). Nice home, but that asking price seems quite steep for how the property is laid out.
It seems as though all the negative comments are correct. I just looked up the sale history and it looks like it’s not sold and they removed it from the market. I think somebody made a huge error, they actually had it listed for 4.29 million at first I can’t imagine anybody spending the money they’re asking as this is in such a poor location. It’s funny every window you look out there is no privacy, but I guess there is one person who will buy anything.
barn... what about public restrooms - doesn't it stir imagination of any decent architect? Artisan lettering M and F... lavatory theme in pediment decor...
The house seems like a small foot print but so open and spacious. Wonderful design.

Finally, someone takes off their shoes! It drives me insane when people tour house with their shoes on.
A 4/4 on that tiny corner lot with overhead power lines for 4 million?? I get that it’s dunthorpe, but LO or West Linn seems like a much better buy
Agreed and for me personally i think it is kinda ugly but that is just me

I think is only the location value for this 4m you can build 5x bigger and patio too.

It will be interesting to see what it ends up trading for!
Beautiful house but overbuilt for that lot and at a price point of $1,000 per foot. That cabinet budget is $$$$$$$$$$$
Absolutely, the window package was incredible too!
you literally would have to pay me to live in this faceless, boring space on a corner of two busy, noise roads lol
Do you know what floors those are?

I wanted to see the garage. What's upstairs?

Seth , I'm not angry I'm just disappointed. The video just wasn't the same without you. Must try harder😉
He’ll be back next week we hope!
I like the skylights but not the overall design. But wow that's a lot of money to be in Portland, a very risky place to park any assets
That bar in the mudroom is dumb
The Norwegian Navy have started to put barcodes on their ships.
So they can scan da navy in.
I see what you did there!
who is the window suppliers?
I'll see if I can track down!

this home is wedged into one of the worst lots out there. case study in spec builder over developing
Surrounded by overhead power lines, on a small corner lot. Could there be a worse location? Big boring box with no character.
Exactly. Cheap AF. Scandinavian design is simple, affordable… This is overpriced Super Trash. Good job.👍🏽
This a zero for me.
fair enough!
Ridiculously overpriced, JFC. Pathetic.🤣
Worth more than $3M in your opinion?
Portland? Insaneland
