She is an artist. Her whole life could be chaotic and claustrophobic. That seems to look her art style. She lives in downtown NYC too, very out there and a unique place to create art. To each their own eh? I’m a full time artist and I prefer minimalistic design with bare minimal finishes and decor. I live in the woods. To each their own!💯💪
Hey Erik, that is one strange Carriage/Townhouse. Would have been interesting to see how it was arranged as a Carriagehouse for horses 🐎 or a Garage for an automobile. That chair in the bedroom is made out of cattle horns not tusks and it looks like someone has lived there since the 70's. Great presentation and nice suit, buddy.
This was a very cool episode. I think there's something to be said about the craftmanship of that era. All the wood work and brick is so beautiful. We have older architecture where I'm from, and one of the biggest crimes is tearing it all down to put a modern monstrosity in it's place. You can tell that whoever owns this home has a mind that's a historical treasure chest. She likely knows something about everything. I think a sit down conversation with her could blow anybody away. A+ episode, can't wait to see the next one.
This was awe-inspiring. Thank you for the tour. That said, you really need to bone up a little on a lot of things in that place. I can't even remember all the things I shook my head over. "Tusks"/horns. "Samurai"/bullfighter. Etc. Etc. But incredible.
I think my favorite is the backyard that room that looks out to the backyard and the rooftop. I think those are my favorite areas. The wet bars and the kitchen as well
New York City is beautiful 😍 with all kinds of cute tucked away places I am delighted to find trotting around there. This is the same with other interesting Cities I like here.
That house is hideous, since the car is inside the house and when you turn it on the fumes will fill the whole house. In addition to the obvious overpricing of the property, there is the inconsequential mix of Diogenes syndrome and maximalism, with the desire to fill every millimeter with something in a house that is already very small. There is such a quantity of things in that place that I don't know whether to call an antique collector or an EXORCIST. You can't take a shower without a haunted mask watching you.👹
Loved the outside, but as you said in a comment it would need a full reno, looks likes it’s stuck in the 70s and I won’t even mention the art, way too eclectic for my taste
Incredibly interesting home and you can tell, her taste is vast. As you said, would love to hear her backstory for so many of the unique pieces. Well done
that's actually the best part of it! (anyone who can afford this could also afford an EV to solve this "problem.") you just gotta pull in front first; the door is wide open when you start up to leave and I highly doubt that this will give any real world issues.
Unfortunately that cesspool of a city is lost beyond saving. I worked in that neighborhood back in the 90’s when NYC was at its peak. It has since descended into an abyss that cannot be recovered. That particular property will never sell.
Very much not my style, but I would like to have the ability to make my place into a place where it has my personality like this, so I admire her for that.
I liked the house, but I feel like the art stuff was too much, I mean there was too much of it, I'm not a minimalist, but if I had that house I would keep it probably more classical and modest, also for a place like NYC I would probably have a steel gate or something in front the garage door for security

Amazing residence, I agree people want to be inspired. Some of the artwork is not my aesthetic, but having a garage and backyard plus rooftop level is awesome. The roof top area would be great to entertain in.
The house is a cluster-F. It speaks to the crazy of the owner. Whew skinny halls. Hopelly when she dies and the place is sold someone can come in and do this thing justice. Otherwise it’s a nightmare. I completely agree with the need for an exorcism
This is such a cool home!! Personally not my taste but I love that it is set apart by its character and art. I do love old and historic homes and the outdoor space is great for being in the city. I love this series
Great building. Great lot. The home is hideous. $28 million is laughable !!! Stop playing us like fools. This place needs a several million dollar renovation, perhaps a gut renovation. This place is $10 million tops.

Love it all! The suit of lights is not a samurai outfit, but the suit of a matador , bullfighter. Called suit of light due to all the bright embroidery n sequins on suit.

The pottery with the head that is just one of the coolest art pieces I've ever seen
I would buy it and get rid of EVERYTHING inside!
Tasteless prick
Get all the 80s modernisation stuff out, and start afresh
I would only do that once I had my own stuff to fill the area.
The art definetly fits the NYC atmosphere. Thats a really nice pad for NYC.
I like the art, but was confused why you keep focusing on it until you mentioned it comes with the house. Nice.
they are getting rid of the trash
@@johansjournal This art is worth millions. It just takes a lot of time and energy to sell it. The owners are getting older, and just want to move somewhere else to spend their last years.
@@FabledGentleman i bet they used palestinian children bones and skulls.
A magnificent display of eclectic maximalism after my own heart. A few art history courses would serve Eric quite well, indeed.
2nd video!!! Grab the owner and explain the art!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
She is 86 years old, living in Israel.
Just stumbled across your work after deep diving on unbuilt old-world designs. I love your production quality and the fact that you see these structures for what they really are, and the symbolism and connection to beauty found within. Fantastic stuff Erik.
I would donate the art to museums. And try to restore the house to its former glory of when it was originally built.
Sell and then you can pay the house off.
I love this house! It is like a museum! No kids to leave it all to? I'll happily step in if they need someone to inherit the home and maintain it for posterity! I absolutely love it!!❤❤❤❤
8:25 those are amphorae. They were used in Ancient Greece and other parts of Mediterranean at the time. Used mainly to store/transport wine and olive oil.
still being used to produce wine in some places.
Most unique and cool home i have ever seen on youtube. Not only because it has a pool table…but from bottom to top floor. It was so unique and cool. So thank for the tour 🙏👍
This house is very chaotic and claustrophobic
In New York, that’s the starting point 😂
She is an artist. Her whole life could be chaotic and claustrophobic. That seems to look her art style. She lives in downtown NYC too, very out there and a unique place to create art. To each their own eh?
I’m a full time artist and I prefer minimalistic design with bare minimal finishes and decor. I live in the woods. To each their own!💯💪
This is a great townhouse - could be the setting for the next Ghostbusters movie. Thank you Erik. You always outdo yourself
I feel the historical info on the home might be a bit off. I tried looking through property records and I feel the home is older than what is listed.
@erikvanconover Thanks buddy, you are always ❤️ a pleasure to watch.
More is MORE! SO claustrophobic. Imagine the sellers having to empty that place if someone actually bought it.
it will prb get a full gut reno
@@erikvanconover It needs it, Im not a big fan of their decorations.
It's not the sellers, it's the buyers! Everything in the house stays, including the Bentley. I can't believe someone actually lives there
I mean, the buyers would probably get a VERY nice payday for some of the historical items 👀
@ravenvelvet69 I'm sure
This was awe-inspiring. Thank you for the tour. That said, you really need to bone up a little on a lot of things in that place. I can't even remember all the things I shook my head over. "Tusks"/horns. "Samurai"/bullfighter. Etc. Etc.
But incredible.
If I had the money I would buy with everything inside, wouldn't change a thing. I simply loved this.
I think my favorite is the backyard that room that looks out to the backyard and the rooftop. I think those are my favorite areas.
The wet bars and the kitchen as well
I am terrified 😮 will never live there with all those creepy art piece
All I can say is Wow! Love this place.
Most artists are so out of their minds.
I love this series the old-world gems are truly inspiring I dont know how you keep finding these spots but keep it up.
13:20 Diddy was here
No doubt.....LOL. He sure is "making a name for himself" these days, isn't he???
That's all anyone is talking about. 😂😂😂😂
You can't take a shower without a haunted mask watching you.👹
I said the "same thing." You would definitely need an EXORCIST!!!
Ridiculously phenomenal!!! Absolutely stunning and keep it going!!!!!
Loved the outside, but as you said in a comment it would need a full reno, looks likes it’s stuck in the 70s and I won’t even mention the art, way too eclectic for my taste
I love your excitement in your work, very mesmerizing
Absolutely beautiful.
Incredibly interesting home and you can tell, her taste is vast. As you said, would love to hear her backstory for so many of the unique pieces. Well done
I love when you start up your car and get fumes into your home! Genius! ! this will not sell anywhere near asking
that's actually the best part of it!
(anyone who can afford this could also afford an EV to solve this "problem.")
you just gotta pull in front first; the door is wide open when you start up to leave and I highly doubt that this will give any real world issues.
Unfortunately that cesspool of a city is lost beyond saving.
I worked in that neighborhood back in the 90’s when NYC was at its peak. It has since descended into an abyss that cannot be recovered.
That particular property will never sell.
You such a pathetic person 💯 get a life
Crime? or what?
Breathtaking..awesome face jugs/pottery derived from South, they're amazing
I think the art chooses you.
This was SO stunning..more!
Very much not my style, but I would like to have the ability to make my place into a place where it has my personality like this, so I admire her for that.
Wow awesome I love it 💜
Gargoyle dogs very cool as well as the peacock fireplace! Statues of the owners are very cute
I liked the house, but I feel like the art stuff was too much, I mean there was too much of it, I'm not a minimalist, but if I had that house I would keep it probably more classical and modest, also for a place like NYC I would probably have a steel gate or something in front the garage door for security
❤I'm quite happy I just found your channel - You've got a friend with me!! I'm such a nerd for all the old details - thumbs up for your attention to detail and good camera work and caring about things few people notice.
So it’s 28 million does that include all the art and if so, can I get a discount if I don’t want any of the art or masks?
Amazing residence, I agree people want to be inspired. Some of the artwork is not my aesthetic, but having a garage and backyard plus rooftop level is awesome. The roof top area would be great to entertain in.
17:07 Rolls Royce, not Bentley. But other than that, overall an efficient layout and good use of space for such a tall but narrow property.
same same but different. Big old boat!
@@erikvanconover They really are.
@@erikvanconover It's the same as saying New York is New Jersey.
Wowee wowee woo woo. This has to be my favorite home ive seen with all the greenery and the incredible art work
I couldn't stop crying over this beauty. I know if I stuck to my dreams, I would've lived like this.
never too late
What a place, so much feeling and atmosphere. Would love to live in this amazing home
11:54 i was scared that he will hit that blue pot and break it
thank god !!!
This place is crazy.. a normal person can’t even imagine a place like this existing 😮😮
The house is a cluster-F. It speaks to the crazy of the owner. Whew skinny halls. Hopelly when she dies and the place is sold someone can come in and do this thing justice. Otherwise it’s a nightmare. I completely agree with the need for an exorcism
Yup. Completely agree.
You nailed it, when people go nuts and super personalize, it only decreases potential resale market value...it also is about 10 ft too narrow, for true comfort
Love it all!
The suit of lights is not a samurai outfit, but the suit of a matador , bullfighter. Called suit of light due to all the bright embroidery n sequins on suit.
