How about the female productive organs? since the women have to go through the same amount of radiation. In the case of the mice they injected damaged sperm into healthy eggs. But in case of space colonisation both the sperm and the egg could potentially be damaged.
They injected the sperm into eggs that were healthy, yes but they're controlling variables. Later on the tests will probably be with damaged eggs and then both.
