I see you have recorded in the Whailing wells of Vindasel, I have read much about these ancient ruins, and work hard to reshape them in a mod, as they were a bit boring for the ruins of an advanced society that has existed for so long yet so far ago.
We’ve all be so exposed to Tolkien that his elves have sort of become the standard. Elder Scrolls elves are very, very different. It doesn’t take long to figure out that the humans actually did the right thing by rising up.
The best irl description I have for Ayleids is they were goths (Germanic tribe) if they had what we say is a gothic architecture and dangerous offensive magic 😅
I’ve heard of the goths but don’t really know anything about them. Wouldn’t surprise me I like how Elder Scrolls mixes the aesthetics of cultures up to create something new.
@ The thing is Goths moved & conquered basically everywhere throughout Europe and more. They left their impact on most European languages, cultures, gene pools and then were fazed out/assimilated out of existence almost entirely. This includes their language and culture. Just like Ayleids in TES universe, they just did things heinous or undoubtedly good, impacted everyone and everything and then just died out.
I wonder if the god they sacrificed to was the same as the one the Falmer now worship?? Also the disembodied screaming is so nostalgic to old YT vids. I genuinely enjoyed it.
Some Ayleids made sacrifices to the various daedric princes but not one in particular. I'm not aware of the Falmer doing anything similar at least knowingly.
Ayleid city states worshipped different daedra, aedra and primprial spirits lost to the waters of oblivion. To name a few favourites Molag Bal, Dagon and Meridia was a few they worshipped often.
So they are basiclty the Dark Eldar of TES. upd. Man! Ancient Rome didn't have "flesh sculpture" and the stuff like that! They were cruel, but not more cruel then "Holy Roman Empire" or any other ancient or medieval country. TES Empire IS Roman Empire - they have 9 gods and even the armor is clearly inspired by Romans.
Man, Warhammer 40k references go way over my head lol. I think the biggest comparison I was trying to make was that a group of people who were once mistreated subsuming the oppressors, which happened with the Christians and the Roman Empire Obviously this isn’t a 1:1 parallel but as you said Elder Scrolls is clearly playing with the aesthetic. I personally would say modern imperial armor looks more medieval or Holy Roman Empire and elven armor is more of the Bronze Age which would be closer to Ancient Rome but I don’t think they were trying to be perfectly exact it is a fantasy game after all.
the "flesh sculpting" does make me wonder if the woman in the ragged flagon (galathil) who "learned her art from the masters of *flesh sculpture*" may: a.) have learned from the ayleid's or b.) have extensive knowledge about the ayleid's because... they're literally the only freakazoid's who did that shit. her race (galathil) is listed as wood elf, so she herself is not an ayleid. i would assume that, if she was supposed to be an ayleid, her race would be high elf due to the only non betrayed falmer having their races as high elf with modifications. i know this is more focused on oblivion (obviously) but i figured i would mention galathil because you didn't! :3 it's probably a weak tie but with TES you have to read books upside down and take your socks off for some shit to make sense. 🫠
I was reading that book "the last king of the Alyieds" and if I remember correctly it stated that there was the last king in valenwood after a lot of Alyieds escaped to Valenwood and Elsweyr
@Deidara81586 holy shit! then it's not a super weak link! i was mainly bullshitting because i love galathil and want her to have a cool backstory. 😅 i am not super well versed on bosmer lore (khajiit & breton enthusiast here!) so that is really interesting to learn! thank you. :3
@@UpperNileGuy i would argue that flesh golems and flesh sculpting are different, as golems tend to imply a homunculus like creatures. (they originate from jewish folklore and protect jewish settlements in those tales.) flesh sculpting, from the descriptions given, seems to be a form of torture. NPC's in skyrim tell you not to go to galathil because of how much it hurts. they could originate from the same magicks, yes, but i think flesh sculpting would be done on beings with black souls while they would make flesh golems out of beings with white souls.
Got to love the composure of this guy as an ancient reptile hunts for him in the background. Stay hidden stay safe man
Pelinal did nothing wrong
Yes he did,he stopped
Maybe the most epic TES character, Vivec and Talos are close
Except having his two-handed sword polished by young boys every night
@@attackboss6 he didn't stop though, the problem was he went too far without backup.
He mistook many Khajiit for mer. That should be something very wrong for a furry.
my brother we can hear screaming in the background
I got scared shitless
It’s for ambiance lol. No it’s just my son not wanting to take a bath
That scared me too.. I use open-back headphones.. so I thought they were behind me
It's just the Ayleid ambience in surround sound. He wanted us to feel like we're there.
@@WeirdMachinations As a father I can confirm children do like to make noise in the bath
Flesh sculpture is a terrifying concept. I love it.
I was a little surprised that a game full of baby faced characters and relatively positive vibes would have body mutilation in the lore
You might like Clan Tzimisce from World of Darkness.
Pelinal "Doom Guy" Whitestrake
4:35 who's screaming on the background? 🤣
I'll always throw a like on some old Oblivion content. Good work dude.
Thank you that means a lot
Ya know idk what it is but the ayleids, moamer, and the left handed elves are the races of elves I'm always most interested in lol
Bro has a raptor necromorph in his house

Nice channel ya got here. Good video. They're one of the many deep lore paths I somehow never walked down

Advice for future videos: Get a pop filter.
Your S's are very sharp.
Thanks for the feedback I’ll work on that for my next VO recording
@@WeirdMachinations Happy to help. ^_^ A pop filter is often overlooked, but can go a long way.
Really great videos, im glad i just found your channel. Im shocked it hasnt got more views!
Thank you! It would mean a lot if you would share a video with someone you think would like it
Underrated channel

Especially Meridia due to the fact that she herself was a Magne Ge that returned form Aetherious to be a princess of oblivion.
@AleksoLaĈevalo999 uhhh returned? More like thrown out.
Why is there screaming in the background?
Ayleid dungeon surround sound.
Ayleid ghosts haunting the halls of their ruins
Trundle?
So they are basiclty the Dark Eldar of TES.
