I bought the same trailer and put a 12 ft long deck on it. Hauled 2 racing karts to a bunch of races over two years. Never had a single problem with it.
i’ve seen a couple of other reasonably priced trailer kits on Ebay that were All Aluminum and had a heavier Cargo capacity i’m retired now so i have a lot of time to look on many Venues another discovery i’ve made is most people don’t use or need the folding feature on the HF trailers
I can't believe how many people buy these trailers, are not reading the manual when it comes to the bearing grease. The grease in the hub and bearings is for shipping only.... it must be totally cleaned out and a proper high temp bearing grease packed in to the bearings.
Funny you should mention that! I didn't do that for four years with mine, and even took two 120 mile round trips with it! Never had a problem! I have recently repacked the bearings and hubs as I am planning on using it to move about 1000 miles! And yes the bearings are still in excellent condition with NO scoring on the spindle!
Looks like a very nice trailer. I have an Intex Seahawk 4 inflatable boat and I'm trying to find a lightweight trailer for it. Is your trailer rated for going only 45 mph or you can drive at hwy speed? Thanks
It is very light and great for small boats. I haven’t taken mine on a highway at high rates of speed but I don’t have a problem at any of the local speed limits. The camping trailer that I have on my channel is made using the same type of trailer frame and tires and I have pulled it, loaded, on the highway at 70 mph
Probably you know this by now, but Harbor Freight doesn't sell these off their website. You have to go in to the store to purchase. Right now, these are more scarce, since so many folks in California are buying them to try to save their homes and belongings from the fires.
I plan on buying the same trailer to use both as a utility and boat trailer. I'm subscribing to follow your build. Please share whenever available :)! also, I plan on using buddy bearings with marine grease.
Kray Cornelison i bought one put it together packed the bearings drove 45 miles and the the tires were already wobbling that was with no load on it i do not recommend these trailers
Petey Schneider the tires will wobble if the wheel is not installed right. I had one wobble. Took it off, realised what was wrong and it's fine now. These are good trailers for the price. I have maxed mine out many times.
I haven’t really messed with jet skis, never risen one, so I don’t know the sizes but just guessing, at four feet wide, you probably couldn’t carry two side by side
I bought it at a local Harbor Freight, here is a link to Harbor Freight www.harborfreight.com/1195-Lbs-Capacity-48-in-x-96-in-Heavy-Duty-Folding-Trailer-62648.html
You gotta repaint it. Prime and use oil based paint. Remember you get what you pay for. I had one, it rusted out unbelievably fast. It's made of the cheapest quality steel possible and then assembled by Chinese children.
You have to watch for the special trailer sells price coupon. Normal 20% coupons are not good for trailer purchases. HF has a "10% off everything coupon" right now. Expires 3/1/21.
The DOT Has removed these from the stores in the United States. The tires are not up to standard for road use. They are going to upgrade them and then re-release them. I went today to Harbor freight to buy one and they gave me the bad news. Hopefully I will be out soon.
The main reason I bought this trailer is because it folds. For if it was not so, I would have NO place to put it when I am not using it. Except for the identical "Northern Tool" trailer, I know of NO other trailer that folds up. Praise Jesus for these.
Yes, that is a great option considering all of the compact living these days. The first one I bought was from a guy that kept the trailer folded up in his garage and it took up very little room. Thanks for watching
thank you for the helpful video. If you ever need LED Lights for any future trailer builds. I have LED lights for top manufactures you can contact me at anytime
Thank you, I appreciate that. Can you email me at thefurrminator@gmail.com with your contact info. I’ll have other projects that will require lights in the near future.
Nice. Always good to see that the little "Maggies" of the world are never injured in an industrial setting such as this. Whew!!
Since I have a daughter named Maggie as well, I have to take on this project since she loves to put things together!!!
daughter and dad in garage! nice haha my dream someday when i have kids!
Nothing like having kids and if they want to spend time with dad in the shop, that's the best bonding time. Thanks for watching
i have this same trailer i use for my inflatible boat. i have driven hundreds of miles on the trailer at a given time and im very pleased with it.
North TX Kayak thank you and thanks for watching
I just bought this trailer with aleko rib boat is it ok to back this off ramp into water to launch boat with the break lights going into water
I bought one of them and I bolted it like it said to. I also welded the Two halves together. As well as the tongue to the rest of the Frame.
I have considered welding all the joints on my trailer
I GOT A 2019 model, upgraded carlile tires, upgraded led lights, and a grease fitting on hub, so no need for bearing buddies
I bought the same trailer and put a 12 ft long deck on it. Hauled 2 racing karts to a bunch of races over two years. Never had a single problem with it.

Good reminder, thanks! Even just to double check and squeeze some more in there.
It’s a synthetic grease. 🇦🇺👍🍺
Did you read the manual? Do you know the difference between wax and grease? Did you build it yourself or have it built?
Great video. Suggestion: you might want to raise your tail lights up, I bend my licence plate, when I tilt my 1 ton tilt bed Harbor Freight trailer.
I put a hinge on the LP mount. Better when folding and placing against a wall.
Is it easy to register these trailers?
Thanks for the video... I was wanting to get a trailer for my little boat...this will work... Thanks again!!!
You're welcome, glad to share the info. Thank you for watching
nice man, got a few videos of my camper on the same trailer
FitLeben thank you, I'll look for your videos
Looks pretty good,, you may need to make sure your lighting system is all waterproof if you’re going to be backing it in to the lake.
Sir it’s very nice trailer, but do you need plate from DMV for it..???
Is it submersible?
Can you fit a 12ft boat in that ?

@@TheFurrminator thank you for replying back to me
Would this work for a 12ft jon boat?
I have moved my axle 18 inches further back it makes it so much easier to back down the boat ramp
Thanks for the video Jeff. Do you know the difference in the 1195 vs. 1720 trailer. Maybe thicker metal?
Patrick Furlong I'm not sure, I was thinking the difference was in the axle and springs but not positive about that.
Where can I purchase one of these online ?

Did you purchase the 1720lb capacity or the 1195lb?
1195 but it never had a load on it i was gona use it for my boat but when i went to go fishing i noticed the tires wobbling bad

Do you think you could put 2 jetskis side by side on here

Great Video what is the width of this trailer ?
You should see the price on this now! 🤯
I was in HF Saturday and I walked by the trailer but didn’t look, I should have, I have no clue what they cost now.
@@TheFurrminator $520 right now.
Can you send the link to where you bought this trailer please?

+flirob thank you for that info, I wasn't aware of the change.
You're welcome. Make sure you have someone look at the tire assembly so that you don't lose your hard work : )
Just go to harbor freight to get your replacement tires...I’ve just got mine replaced
Good luck

Could thit fit a 15ft boat
This is an 8' trailer, I think it would be too short to haul a 15' boat
