Class 37 SETTING BACK at Land Recovery in Longport - Plus LOCOS in EMD Longport Yard 10/05/24

Great to see a Class 37 on an freight mainline working - See HNRC owned and Cols hired 37405 working from Crewe Basford Hall to Land Recovery in Longport, Stoke-on-Trent.
Land Recovery have acquired a number of the ex DB Class 60's at Toton so it will be intriguing to see their plans for those.
See also the locos stored in the EMD yard at Longport close to Land Recovery.

What number 60s are going top Land Recovery?

The list I have is as follows - 60012, 032, 036, 037, 048, 052, 068, 077, 078, 084, 089 and 093. It’s all subject to change plus it’s likely a good number will be component donors only 👍

60032 is the first of them awaiting collection from Toton if it has not already been picked up. I hear 60014 for GBRF is the first 60 to get the CAT treatment from EMD. They are earmarked to get the C-175 like those on the 68's and the Euroduals.

@@lukeslocomotives So long as the main frames isn't rotten. They have a good chance to get rebuilt and all the panels and parts can be replaced that would be cheaper than a new build. EMD/PR Will likely replace the CPU with their own type.

Is there a source for the class 60 conversion news? I’ve seen plenty of speculation about that (and provided some myself) but I’ve never heard any firm evidence of anything happening

The damage class 66 wasn't that the one involved in the roll over and was in stobbard livery ivan the engine
