I think the Fennec is the only animal where the adults look even cuter than the babies for some reason.

Actually, the term "true fox" does not fit anymore because they comprise a wastebasket taxon, the Vulpes genus is now restricted to only the red foxes, which are actually now three separate species, the Eurasian Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes), the American Red Fox (Vulpes fulva), and the African Red Fox (Vulpes niloticus), making the Vulpes genus one of the smallest and least diverse genera of dogs, this is because the other eleven extant fox species are actually now relocated to three separate genera closer to both the bat-eared fox (Otocyon megalotis) and the raccoon dogs (genus Nyctereutes), these three separate genera are Neocyon with only one species being the Tibetan Fox (Neocyon ferrilatus), Alopex with four extant species being the Corsac Fox (Alopex corsac), the Arctic Fox (Alopex lagopus), the Swift Fox (Alopex velox), and the Kit Fox (Alopex macrotis), and Fennecus with six extant species being the Bengal Fox (Fennecus bengalensis), the Blanford's Fox (Fennecus cana), the Ruppell's Fox (Fennecus rueppellii), the Fennec Fox (Fennecus zerda), the Pale Fox (Fennecus pallidus), and the Cape Fox (Fennecus chama), the six extant species that comprise the Fennecus genus are the closest living relatives of both the bat-eared fox and the raccoon dogs, with the four extant species that comprise the Alopex genus being the second closest, leaving the tibetan fox of the monotypic genus Neocyon being only the third closest and the red foxes (genus Vulpes) to be the most distantly related from all the other groups.

How did they cross the land bridge from North America 4 million years ago and also die and leave a fossil in Chad 7 million years ago?
