It doesn't surprise me that 96% thought the game captured the spirit and lore of the WH40k universe - it absolutely did. And of all the complaints I've heard about the game: bugs, balance, clunky systems, less fleshed out later chapters, inability to romance Argenta, etc., the one complaint nobody ever makes is that the game handles the lore badly. Whatever else you think of it, this game brings the 40k setting to life brilliantly.
Man, all of those people whining about not being able to romance Argenta, do they really think that their dicks are harder than the convictions of a nun?
Which kinda turned into the problem Inahd with the game... In the grim darkness of thebfar future, nobody's the good guy, and I ended up disliking everyone😂. I didn't want to finish the game because it captured the unlikable nature of people in 40k too well!
Love your positivity and laughter. For me, Yrliet’s romance was surprisingly deep and touching-a genuine connection between two souls. Abelard is simply the best: an old, dignified soldier who always has your back and will protect you from anything the game throws at you, no matter what. I don’t think he ever fell in my game, and I played on daring. Bonus for him being a short king. Heinrix, Ulfar were awesome bros, and Idira was a suprise for me how I started to care for her.
My top moment from the game was when sm had to go through Sewers to push the switch. After careful deliberation I chose Abelard and he literally said smth like "the dudy calls" and just went through it. He knew it was gonna be him 😅
I don't want less option on creation/level up. I want what pathfinder had. "If you pick X, then y, and z will be available next level up, because you took x now." And argenta's story needs work. You don't even DO her mission, you jsut drop her off to do the mission by herself, and she just comes back later. That should have been a large dungeon.
I'd have preferred something closer to the Rogue Trader TTRPG. Where each of the ten Levels unlock a couple of dozen things you can spend your xp onand once you spend enough it unlocks the next level. With occasional choices as to what the next level is. If there's a story reason you can buy things not in your class list at double cost and not counting to level.
Abelard is such a niche companion that is so fun to see. I haven't seen a game that made me want to use one of my dialogue options just to have my party member talk in my place and I find myself picking them a lot lol
They nailed it on atmosphere, mechanicly though... I don't know how often she pushed my whole party prone, summoned warpspawn, damaged everyone or just offed herself during Act 1, even with less than 10 veil degredation. She got benched as soon as others were available. And psychers weren't that great in general before Owlcat started with the fixing and balancing.
@@larsg.2492 I picked up the game pretty recently and Idira is a main-stay in my party. She offers a lot of AoE, CC and dmg. They must have adjusted psykers through patches because I can count the number of times she has made a fight harder on one hand by the end of Act 2. She has been much more consistent than Argenta.
@@larsg.2492 Oh they were with the right build, plenty of stuff to deal with degradation later. Even now at the DLC replay, I shrug off the degradation negative effects and just use her and Cassia to roll over most enemies.
I play a lot of non-CRPG games, too, and Owlcat is quickly becoming one of my favorite studios across all genres. I love their transparency and the little things they keep giving us. I have high hopes for their future games, whatever they may be.
I have no doubt that Owlcat will become one of the most relevant developers of this century, beyond that it is a mystery because the guild is full of developers who have fallen into disgrace due to their own actions...
Act 1 boss is hilariously perfect. The whole massive buildup, the MUSIC, your companions all going like "ah well, that's it, we're dead, we've got absolutely zero chances here", and your reaction is basically one of: - (if you know at least some 40k lore) Damn, we're really are dead. And the boss proceeds to curbstomp you (as he very well should) - (if you know nothing about 40k lore) Eh, it's just a guy, how hard can it be? And he curbstomps you, demonstrating just how hard he can actually be. I love it, it's one of my favourite boss encounters of all video games period, like maybe second best in my tierlist (absolute top is Zio from PS4, but nobody plays this game anyway).
Took me a few tries to figure out how to beat him. I found that killing the little guys and sniper asap, and using as much debuffs and control as possible as fast as I can on the boss was vital.
Oh man, I thought the tutorial boss was tough! Until I noticed the warrior companion can just spam his temp health and tank the boss. I can't wait for the act 1 boss
@@alexk9626 OK, I THINK I just did the Act 1 boss, Aurora? When I saw the smoke clear I definitely realized I was screwed. I knew it was either gonna be a scripted loss or a rough fight. Thankfully Abelard is a dammed tank that packs a punch. My dude was literally like "Lord Captain, stay behind me and we should make it through this" and proceeded to smack the shit out Aurora. Him and Heinrix ganked the shit out of them. I can't wait to do a max difficulty run now
@@TheMasterblah yup, that was Aurora. He is usually damn tough on the first playthrough and not so hard on the subsequent ones, because you gain a feeling of the game. Glad that you liked it :)
Combat is too easy because some of the companions are busted. Our adorable little monster, Cassia, is friggin god-like in combat especially when paired with Idira or Psyker Rogue Trader. Argenta shoots nukes. Pasqal can be build to have infinite action points too. Once the game has gone through multiple balance passes, its gonna be hard.
Don't forget that -Idira- Yriliet was able to just casually non-crit bosses for around 1800 damage during the later Acts. Sure, only single target, and nothing like the Cassia/Argenta abuse you could dish out before Owlcat put a stop to the never ending extra turns. Edit: Mixed up characters...
Owlcat needs to remember that they need to make their games approachable by people NOT familiar with CRPGs. Rogue Trader was a step in the right direction, I know I would have given up on Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous long ago if I didnt WANT to like it an unhealthy amount.
6:30 Warrior/Vanguard can literally clear entire encounters just by standing there and letting enemies attack them. I've played the game only soon after the release, before all the balance patches, but right after Cassia, Abelard was easily the strongest member of my party. He was meant to be the tank, yet somehow he ended up killing a lot of enemies.
his ability to counter anyone who attacks him, and attack anyone trying to go past him gets a lot of damage out. Owlcats loves their attacks of opportunity.
@@acrab6527 But it's such a strange decision that the Vanguard only generates their special resource when they get hit. Abelard could stand in the midst of enemies, parrying and dodging nearly everything for ten minutes and only get two beacon points from it. Lets me believe that Vanguard was designed as the facetank class.
I'm really surprised to see Idira so low on every list, especially comparing to NPCs. Very well developed character in my opinion. As for Adeptus Ministorum: I've achieved my goal on my playthrough: Forge World [subskin armor] + Ministorum + warrior + vanguard focused on CON and WILL = unkillable machine against demons and xenos with enormous counter-attack damage :)
Huh... Maybe it was because I threw myself at the wall that was the Pathfinder games, but I found the relatively simpler system in Rogue Trader easier to get into. My only caveat for people would be to consider looking at all the feats at level up once to see what is there beyond the 'recommended' list. Sometimes you'll find great stuff to support your intended build that the game missed because it is focused on another baseline character build.
I personally love the Aurushale/Cassia type romance and I can't wait to see them to it again in owlcat's future games lmao although it's a massive shame that Arganta wasn't romancable
At first, I didn't like that combat happened so often, until i went through the effort of helping Jea get a seal. The lack of combat made it very memorable, and i still get a little chuckle as my all-powerful Rogue Trader had to wait in queue.
Abelard, Cassia, Yriliet, and Idiria were super efficient for me Abelard not just ranking up front but smashing enemies with two handed weapons. You gotta try running him out front anyone he doesn’t wipe immediately anyone else will pick off what’s left.
Even though game has different leveling system than pen and paper (where your XP is currency to upgrade stats and gain skills) it really nails part on what kind of people can become Rogue Traders or what their retinue can be that is xenos such as: Ork Pirate, Weirdboy (Ork Psyker), Kroots (humanoid birds like race traits from eaten foes) Dark Elves (Or Drukhari if you like trade marked name of them) and T'au (which had it's own book on how to make one), that was whole xenos range in Pen and Paper, don't get me started on advanced careers. And yeah I almost forgot Navigators could be in your party too, and your psyker options were either Astropath or aforementioned Weirdboy.
I like the immense variety in character creation. At the moment I'm overwhelmed by it, but I think it will be great for custom builds on subsequent runs
I played Rogue Trader start to finish after two or three "false starts". Ended up with my character mirroring Adelblard's build (close enough). The end boss was a joke on normal with two "vanguards" and Argenta in the party.
Ulvar the space marine completely and utterly trivialized the game after I got him. There's an accessory you can equip that gives you extra action points every time you crit and this dude crits ALL THE TIME in a huge cone with his bolt pistol. He would single handily mow down entire encounters by himself just off the bonus turn that Officers could give out before the fights even start + the Soldier heroic act. Like the fights weren't even properly started yet and it was already over without the enemies even having a chance of getting a turn
Anyone familiar with human psychology isn’t surprised. There is a reason we have the 80/20 distribution. Take vehicles, for example. There are literally hundreds of colors they can be made in, but 80% of people will pick 20% of colors, which is why you see so many white and black vehicles. Just dumping more options does not spread this distribution any more. A friend of mine has several ice cream locations he owns. He will put flavors on his menu but never buy the flavor. That’s because the selling point is the apparent options available, but you’re all going to pick chocolate or peanut butter swirl anyway.
Dude. If it's not a couple easy options, on a phone screen, most people check out. A couple large graphically pleasing 'Buttons' is about the extent they can handle. Anything more is 'anxiety inducing' (to quote my niece on another topic). I guess you could swap "Anxiety Inducing" with "Choice Paralysis". Kind of the same thing. Low effort/low exertion seems the norm, nowadays.
Jae deserves to be higher on most of those lists. She's a great character in her own right and if you write her off early in the game you won't even get her full story and understanding of her as a character.
nah she's a boring fucking character with a generic smuggler princess but really a grimy pirate shtick. would have been much cooler to have a heretic noble like Vistenza join you, especially since the game is lacking heretic companions
Kind of surprised by the lack of people who liked Jae. Maybe it was because I played a crime lord and she just fit perfectly for him. Cassia I didnt get. She struck my as more of a child than an adult and romancing her just felt...weird.
Think of it more as a young maiden. The type from a fantasy story where the princess wishes to romance the prince sort of thing. That's what the juxtaposition was supposed to be with her being who she is, her situation, and existing in the 40k universe as far as I took it. Also Jae was a great character.
@@topgamer101 I understand where she comes from, she lived in almost total isolation with just the library books full of dumb romance novels, and it shows. I started the romance, but quickly backed out when the handkerchief scene came up (I remembered finding the exact same situation in one of the books she was reading). She struck me as emotionally underdeveloped, and I felt like I'd be abusing her if I continued. ... Ended up romancing Jae, Kibellah and Yrliet :D Maybe I just like psychos ?
Abelard was never taken out of my retinue purely because you can order him to explain to enemies of mankind that they will be summarily executed in like half of the game's encounters
I did not know about the results of the survey, thanks for the video. I am one of the relaxed types of players who likes to play games in my down time and I enjoy feeling powerful so as long as there is a difficulty setting then i am fine 😁.
I wish Vistenza Vyatt was a choice for love interest, at least for a certain type of Rogue Trader, also she seemed perfect for a noble's love interest.
I was more partial to the companion cast of WH40k RT over that of WotR. Their quirky quips and antics are so charming. Cassia is a nuclear bomb packaged as a sweet summer child. Pasqal's one ups her in the facepalm department with all his absurdisms. Argenta's fanatical fervour tempered by glimpses of humanity is a pillar of any Dogmatic run. Seelah was the only companion in WotR I really loved (how can a person not?). Sosiel is criticised for being boring but I enjoyed his story with Trevor and always always keep them in the same party. WotR companions feel kind of scattered. I sometimes wondered "Why are you even in my party?" Whereas in my RT dogmatic run, almost everyone felt like they belonged and could justify themselves to the RT too. It was nice having unity of purpose. To be fair to WotR, it had to juggle between so many mythic/alignments so a disparate groups of misfits is hard to avoid.
Abelard is a tank even with all skills for offence. He can taunt and facetank bosses, while mowing down tons of enemies and teaching the boss what imperial navy officers are made out of. (Give him the best hammer you've got)
I had gotten pretty put off by the bugs in the later acts when the game first released, and some of the encounter design/balance on Commorogh.. but came back and finished more recently, I think it’s a very good game.. with a few rough spots
Abelard is the Bestelard. There will be no more questions. :P He is probably my favorite companion in all of Owlcat's games so far. Abelard, Regill, Cassia, and then Camellia. For some reason I didn't really like any of the companions in Kingmaker, and I typically opted for my own custom band.
I would not even say that grand sttrategist is "difficult" to use. I think it is just clunky/buggy and needs a lot of QoL improvements to be enjoyable.
@@larsg.2492 I do not understand it either. Would not even be that hard to implement(just add 3 more abilities with the zones just rotated). Not being able to place them on(around) cover and other obstacles sometimes is annoying as well. There should not be a line of sight requirement either. They feel overall just terrible just for the placement hassle alone. Otherwise I would greatly enjoy the archetype, I think.
Oh yeah, I didn't even get through my first playthrough before starting my second playthrough after I learned Ablelard did his thing I immediately went in and made a noble so I could make him introduce me. For your question to why Pasqoi is up so high four words. The flesh is weak. (Also in this context "attractiveness" doesn't just mean sexual, it's also just how good the character design looks.)
The combat difficulty wasn't too bad at launch, other than a couple of standouts I can think of. The hardest been the Apostle fight who becomes the Edge of Daybreak. I thought that was an overtuned mess that I actually had to turn down the difficulty for. The other one was the Defiler? I think in the same area up the top, where he could blanket an area with explosives that would explode next turn, pretty sure he could one or two shot anybody in your party too unless you had that Sanctioned Psyker ability that basically let you live on fatal damage with 1 hp or something. Even the Helbrute fight in that zone again could be difficult. So I guess Act 5 in general wasn't tuned as well as it could have been. But that Apostle fight was tough as nails between the flame thrower Space Marines getting double turns due to the Apostle and then just face melting one or a couple of your guys (they had pretty high turn priority too) and just the humble bolterbros. Failing that is the first time you fight Aurora (the first time you fight a Space Marine in the game) if you don't know it's coming in Act 1. Especially if he kicks one of your party down and then unleashes a full burst of Heavy Bolter fire into their prone bodies. I liked charge as a warrior mainly just because it let you attack twice, and you could be stupid with it by triggering an attack of opportunity and recharging/attacking. You could then play with it that I think in Bulwark by parry deathing them anyway. I'm not sure if I actually liked the one attack per round thing that you could only sorta get around with. That may be a limitation of the Rogue Trader system though? I dunno, never played that.
I didn't pick the game up until after the big officer and navigator nerf and she is still head and shoulders above the other companions, it's hard to imagine how busted she was with uncapped willpower stacking (among other nerfs). My MC is the only one who rivals her in raw killing power but can't match her versatility.
Not surprised that Cassia is top choice for romances. She is the first one you can start. I see why GW does not want a sister of battle to be romanced, though it would be allowed by lore. I want a romance option for the two other rogue traders! That would be both great and awful.
I bought the full game plus Season Pass on Steam. I just couldnt buy via their official site like you did. But I am still yet to play the game. I think I gonna play it now with the new content releasing
If you want to try more Warhammer 40k games and like Diablo, you should play Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr. Get the Ultimate edition with all the dlc on console or PC. Also get the extra adeptus sororitas dlc, which isn't included with the rest of the dlc, so you can play as the Sisters of Battle as well. And if you're wondering what an Inquisitor or Adeptus Sororitas is, you should on RUclips, definitely watch Bricky's Warhammer 40k factions explained video. It's a very popular 2 part video that'll give you most of the basic Warhammer 40k info. And if u want a little more info, he also has a popular video on the Warhammer time-line. After that, there are games like Chaosgate Daemonhunters, which is X-com with the Grey Knights. (A special demon killing unit of space marine that the Bricky video will explain) Boltgun which is a Doom-like, Battlesector (turn based with units), and Dark Tide, which is a Left for Dead like!
I'm surprised idira is the least liked companion. I think she was great, her visions and things like that were really cool. Most of the time it feels like she is talking nonsense but when you really pay attention to what she says you can learn a lot of things
I don't get the whole "I want less character customization options" thing. Wrath Of The Righteous already had 200+ archetypes and I installed mods that added more 🤣🤓
Operative is much lower than I thought, I really enjoy it and Assasin though but I can see that we have 2 companions that can fill that role already so I get why they aren't as popular. I think the character creation is okay, granted I read and watch quite a lot of guides before actually playing the game and that made playing the game and combat rather manageable on core but then again people have their own preferences. Idira is really cool though, with her VA and mechanically I like her a lot with the chaos she often brings along but I suppose she doesn't quite have the same connection to story like Heinrix (who is also my favourite companion) or Yrliet nor does she shine as often as Abelard or Marazai.
I don't think Warrior is that strong after act 1, but the mobility is trully refreshing. No, I'll not rush in hard fights where I use the areas created by the master strategist are essential, but in easier fights it feels just great to charge around and just kill stuff. I expect the new lv1 archetype to be even more mobile, so I'm excited to start a new run with it. About sanctioned psyker, it's just on another league compared to the other origins. It's like having one more archetype instead of one new ability and a few passives, as good as they are.
Master tactician navigator is legit broken. Carried me through the entire game and trivialized most of the encounters once you stack around 20-30 of the buff. I’d be sweeping the battlefield hitting for hundreds of damage on like 8-10 enemies at a time sometimes.
@SlanderedGaming from what notes seem there wasn't much change just stuff kinda works better. I could be wrong but if you drop a video I'll check it out. I'm still on act 2 but I'm pretty high leveled and I can agree its a bit easy even on normal but the level I am should make me feel strong.
No wonder my Pasqal feels so week, I made him an Operative Bounty Hunter. Really cool character and concept, but I feel like they did him a disservice in the build department.
its really a shame that this game came out so late after the pen and paper system series its based when out of circulation as Im certain it would have brought alot of much needed new players into the hobby but sadly Fantasy Flight Games 40k RPGs which included Rogue Trader, Deathwatch (space marines), Only War (imperial guard), Dark Heresy (inquisition) and Black Crusade (Chaos warband) are all out of print due to not renewing the IP licence back in 2017.
Based on other survey for games (TTRPG notably), if something is liked by 65% or so, there is probably some issues with it. Of course, if something is liked only by 58% or so in an official survey, there is most probably a lot of criticisms and problems with that feature. From what I have seen in such surveys, there is almost always a technical majority that say something is OK or good, even if it is highly criticized and may need a revision. If you drop below 50%, that feature is probably downright hated. You get the picture: folks tend to vote somewhat positive overall, unless something it quite broken. So a minority of 30%+ criticizing something might have a valid point. - PS: I am NOT implying anything about Rogue Trader. I have not played it yet.
Why a survey? a lot of this information they could just taken directly from people playing the game (assuming users agree to data sharing with Owlcat) but i guess most of this is users opinions and not statistics still really excited to get to Rogue Trader :)
I am not sure I would say that the game was more balanced then Pathfinder WotR. Tbh I pooped a brick when I got to the Act 1 boss 1st go around, as I was not really familiar with the Rogue Trader system. Not to mention the throne room fight on your capital planet. I guess it serves as a learning experience. Don't get me wrong I don't mind a challenge, and I actually enjoyed the fights, but I felt like I was steamrolling through pretty much everyone and everything, and then after clearing pretty much everything before proceeding further, got rekt going into that throne room and I was flabbergasted. I was literally thinking: "Where did I go wrong? Do I have to respec?" Sure I had some bad experiences in wrath but unlike Wrath, these 2 examples are hard stuck in my head as "WTF" moments. The biggest issue I had with Rogue Trader IMO was technical issues, like perks not working as intended, which I hadn't really noticed on my 1st playthrough until I was trying some weird stuff. Also Abelard being #1 is such a troll community thing lol. I agree it's probably because you can force him to roll out the red carpet wherever you go. So funny.
I think they should make higher difficulties and combat in general more interesting. Higher difficulties just add more penalties and do nothing interesting. Instead they should introduce better AI, more enemies and/or enemy variations, more boss mechanics and probably even more bosses. Also they should think about making leveling up more interesting. Give us choices that lock us out of other choice and/or unlock different options. Maybe even let us take us another level 1 archetype instead us forcing into taking a level 2 archetype. Also they should make Perils of the Warp waaaay more dangerous.
While I prefer Cassia as a love interest I think Argenta should be an option. To me the level of loyalty Argenta showed towards my Rogue Trader in the ending I got could have easily been sparked into a romance if my Rogue Trader had put in the effort to turn the relationship that way.
Once a release date for Mechanicus 2 is announced I'll probably stream Mechanicus a month or so before hand. Multiple people have told me it's a terrible game to stream so I am not in a rush.
Officer MC + Cassia was quite fun even if it trivialized the game at the end. Gotta be honest I don't even know what I did to create the situation wherein she had what seemed like infinite attacks but the final portion of a game was an utter joke because of her.
I think at launch there were some completely broken builds. After the first big nerf to whatever allowed you to always go first it felt like a good step forward though. I'm waiting on dlc for future playthroughs though, i certainly enjoyed it!
@@SlanderedGaming yeah, depending on the story (which I am going in blind), I might play through the game at least 2 times with differing team and choice makeup and using the new DLC member.
You'd be surprised how many people have a genuine hatred for Camellia. Personally, I like her. She also brings to light one of the classics of tabletop roleplaying games, the murder hobo.
Honestly, bit puzzled about the attractiveness answers. Jae is conventionally attractive, augmentations notwithstanding, and none of those are on her face. Cassia is clearly not attractive. She is a mutant and her features are intentionally quite alien. I can understand rating Argenta over Jae, though honestly, the difference is not night and day.
I will only Buy this game if it will have a playable space marine or something with a power armor. Until that I don't even care if it will be 90% off. But I will keep an eye on updates. Hou knows.
Generally heretic playthrough is really... Bad. You just do heretic things and no one cares. There should be an option to corrupt your companions when you play as heretic. Exploit Argenta zeal and turn her to khorne, hendrix pride and inquisitiveness to tzeech, make pasqal pursue chaos technology, Jen's ambition would be her downfall, cassia could be possesed and become a demon host etc. Now you can do the most heretic things and no one cares, no reaction at all. It sucks
Biggest dislike I had was all the nonsense perks, there was way way too much bloat in that system for some classes where you could just grab a soldier and basically full auto a cone and kill the room, story was ok to good though I did play it at the start where everything broke constantly from combat to quests and even full soft locks in act 2-3.
I feel like the Officers Extra turns mechanic break the game. This game would be much better if you could only have 1 officer in any party. Also makes sence. 3 officers telling each other when the heroic moment is, and inspiring each other or telling each other whent to move is just weird. I also don't like the fact that if you play anything but officer you feel like you're not Rogue trader... Cant be on commander of the ship position with 0 persuasion. Have 0 commerce or 0 coercion so Jae or Cassia talking instead of you always. How the hell is this character a Rogue Trader? He may be a good combatant. But he's always commanded on battlefield. So it just feels confusing. The moment the combat starts he becomes a compliant beta. I feel like there should be only 1 officer in rogue trader - you. Everyone else follow your lead. Would make sence. You can't choose your class, only your origin so you could make any type of officer (melee/psy/range). While being able to choose all the other characters classes but not the origins.
Sure reach out to me on Discord. After the DLC comes out I plan to do a livestream talking about Warhammer lore where people can jump in and share perspectives.

Abelard is a total bro. Love the guy.
Yeah he's great.
I play a lot of non-CRPG games, too, and Owlcat is quickly becoming one of my favorite studios across all genres. I love their transparency and the little things they keep giving us. I have high hopes for their future games, whatever they may be.
Yup definitely looking forward to their next game!
I have no doubt that Owlcat will become one of the most relevant developers of this century, beyond that it is a mystery because the guild is full of developers who have fallen into disgrace due to their own actions...
Act 1 boss is hilariously perfect. The whole massive buildup, the MUSIC, your companions all going like "ah well, that's it, we're dead, we've got absolutely zero chances here", and your reaction is basically one of:
- (if you know at least some 40k lore) Damn, we're really are dead. And the boss proceeds to curbstomp you (as he very well should)
- (if you know nothing about 40k lore) Eh, it's just a guy, how hard can it be?
@@TheMasterblah do write your impressions after finishing the boss, I love hearing people praising this one.
Abelard is daddy that’s why.
Also idira deserves more recognition. Loved the character development.
Idira was a ton of fun, especially on a heretic run.
Yup there's supposed to be another major patch with the upcoming DLC.
Damn owlcat for denying us the Guardsman-Sister romance
It would've been nice.
Now that the game has been rebalanced to be harder I'll definitely try a pure tank build.
his ability to counter anyone who attacks him, and attack anyone trying to go past him gets a lot of damage out.
I had a FANTASTIC time on my heretic run with Idira. She's crazy powerful too.
Same. I didn't have any issues adjusting to RT.
I know the 3.5/Pathfinder mechanics inside and out, so that was really simple for me to understand, but Rogue Trader did, and still does, confuse me.
I personally love the Aurushale/Cassia type romance and I can't wait to see them to it again in owlcat's future games lmao
although it's a massive shame that Arganta wasn't romancable
I’m glad Argenta wasn’t. The character works better as someone with her own goals and loyalties aside from the player.
@@blackhammer5035 that may be true but it's clear they didn't do it because of gamesworkshop.
I was surprised by how fantastic Yrliet is. Absolutely wiped out tough enemies.
I found the ship combat to be one of the best part of the game. I would love to see more of the ship-to-ship combat.
Nice!
When I was playing Abelard was slaughtering people left right and centre. Especially when you add counters.
This new DLC needs to drop!! Legit can’t wait for another play through
Soon!
I want a ingame character BUILDER. So I can plan out my character's level up and SAVE it! Instead I have to keep a spread sheet.
I love Rogue Trader! I still haven’t finished it because I’m waiting for some of the dlc to release. Great video!
People want less options?! Damn...
Yeah people are interesting dude. LOL
choice paralysis
I thoroughly enjoyed what I played of RT but only part way I to act 2 I actually decided to shelf it until most of the DLC is out.
Can't believe all the philistines put Winterscale and the Inquisitor over our legendary bae Vigdis
😂
seeing your face was unexpected. thats a face and voice combo str8 for tv. my man i hope you get discovered by big koney soon
Wow the top 5 rated companions was my party and the top rated origin + 2nd top rated class was my character build lol
Jae deserves to be higher on most of those lists. She's a great character in her own right and if you write her off early in the game you won't even get her full story and understanding of her as a character.
Hey voice acting is absolutely abysmal though. As a native English speaker her accent changes every word
I'm good with not knowing her story or 'understanding her.
If it's not entertaining and doesn't make me WANT to care, then I am not forcing it.
nah she's a boring fucking character with a generic smuggler princess but really a grimy pirate shtick. would have been much cooler to have a heretic noble like Vistenza join you, especially since the game is lacking heretic companions
Love your videos! keep up the amazing work.
Thank you! Will do!
Those exchanges are so freaking amazing. 😂
Thanks brother!
I did not know about the results of the survey, thanks for the video. I am one of the relaxed types of players who likes to play games in my down time and I enjoy feeling powerful so as long as there is a difficulty setting then i am fine 😁.
My pleasure!
I like this game because it showed me there is more to Warhammer's world then big dudes in goofy armor fighting alien things
I wish Vistenza Vyatt was a choice for love interest, at least for a certain type of Rogue Trader, also she seemed perfect for a noble's love interest.
great video, big fan of your personality! You should have made it on the lists!
I’m surprised that Crime Lord was in the middle. It’s arguably one of the most powerful ones as well as enjoyable ones in my opinion.
mb, cause it was broken af for at least half a year since game start, most of his talents were broken or missplaced
He is pretty awesome.
I would not even say that grand sttrategist is "difficult" to use. I think it is just clunky/buggy and needs a lot of QoL improvements to be enjoyable.
I wouldn't say difficult to use so much as cumbersome to level up and understand what will actually help you.
@@SlanderedGaming Yeah, agreed. And the placements of the zones is infuriating. xD
Yeah, all they need to do is make the zones 3 by 3 and I'd use it.
@@PalimPalim-y7l Not being able to rotate them was a design choice...
Edit: And with that I mean that I don't understand the thinking behind it.
It felt like it was relatively easy, until out of nowhere it was 40 reloads fight.
Why wouldn't they want thhat?
@@SlanderedGaming Exactly. She was ranked as the most attractive character, by far.
I bought the full game plus Season Pass on Steam. I just couldnt buy via their official site like you did. But I am still yet to play the game. I think I gonna play it now with the new content releasing
My mistake I actually played the prologue a bit. Just didnt went that far

(A special demon killing unit of space marine that the Bricky video will explain) Boltgun which is a Doom-like, Battlesector (turn based with units), and Dark Tide, which is a Left for Dead like!
anyone have the link to the survey? Tried a quick google and can only find the beta survey
Look back through my community posts I am pretty sure I linked to it.
I'm surprised idira is the least liked companion. I think she was great, her visions and things like that were really cool. Most of the time it feels like she is talking nonsense but when you really pay attention to what she says you can learn a lot of things
I don't get the whole "I want less character customization options" thing. Wrath Of The Righteous already had 200+ archetypes and I installed mods that added more 🤣🤓
I know right! 😂
I love Idira and thought they did a great job with her.
That's true you can reach just about anywhere, especially with an Agility build.
Master tactician navigator is legit broken. Carried me through the entire game and trivialized most of the encounters once you stack around 20-30 of the buff. I’d be sweeping the battlefield hitting for hundreds of damage on like 8-10 enemies at a time sometimes.
Yup it's pretty crazy.
It's generally a shame that the companions have so little content. Most of them feel very hollow sadly
As a crpg newbies its challenging enough. I hate the idea of changing cause i just got in the groove.
It's not that bad but will definitely force you to use more of the mechanics.
Da fk did you guys put Jae down in the gutter!? 😢😢
leveling up is the best part about the game and i hope they dont simplify the skill options.
its really a shame that this game came out so late after the pen and paper system series its based when out of circulation as Im certain it would have brought alot of much needed new players into the hobby but sadly Fantasy Flight Games 40k RPGs which included Rogue Trader, Deathwatch (space marines), Only War (imperial guard), Dark Heresy (inquisition) and Black Crusade (Chaos warband) are all out of print due to not renewing the IP licence back in 2017.
Yup that makes sense to me.
"Fans think that Abelard is the most attractive party member..."
Good for him!
"...narrative-wise."
Oh, okay then.
Thanks for the video
My pleasure!
Why a survey? a lot of this information they could just taken directly from people playing the game (assuming users agree to data sharing with Owlcat) but i guess most of this is users opinions and not statistics
still really excited to get to Rogue Trader :)
Sometimes it's hard to gauge what your hardcore fans really like. A survey helps to nail that down.
So funny.
Yup the launch had a lot of bugs. Hopefully they've all been cleared out now.
I only wish that in coop playthroughs, your friends could create characters too. Hopefully moving forward Owlcat can make coop campaigns a reality
That would be very interesting.
Cheers, boss.
And I'd like to have a mechanicus origin and/or the ability to become heavily modified with again, interesting modifications not just stat-sticks.
Abelar tell this man that I'm agree with his opinion and liked this video.
Don't forget to introduce me properly
Thank you!
While I prefer Cassia as a love interest I think Argenta should be an option. To me the level of loyalty Argenta showed towards my Rogue Trader in the ending I got could have easily been sparked into a romance if my Rogue Trader had put in the effort to turn the relationship that way.
I definitely would've preferred that.
Greetings Slandered gaming! Any thoughts on streaming Warhammer 40k Mechanicus?
Once a release date for Mechanicus 2 is announced I'll probably stream Mechanicus a month or so before hand. Multiple people have told me it's a terrible game to stream so I am not in a rush.
Strangely looks like more an opinion from beginners in the genre than experienced ones.
Are they going to update the guides? They have changed names and skills have disappeared... it seems like a different game after 1.2
I will be updating my guides after the patch for the upcoming DLC is released.
Officer MC + Cassia was quite fun even if it trivialized the game at the end. Gotta be honest I don't even know what I did to create the situation wherein she had what seemed like infinite attacks but the final portion of a game was an utter joke because of her.
Yup both parties have been nerfed now.
I think at launch there were some completely broken builds. After the first big nerf to whatever allowed you to always go first it felt like a good step forward though. I'm waiting on dlc for future playthroughs though, i certainly enjoyed it!
Yup I might spin up a new playthrough after the DLC comes out this month.
I own this game, but am waiting to play it till the dlc comes out, as I don't like to come back to games after I beat them.
After the DLC should be a great time to dive in.

Abe power comes from combining him with Officer Mc and cassia for some laughable turn 1 power.
Hou knows.
What do you mean? One of your party members is a Space Marine. Do you mean the main character being a Space Marine? Can they become Rogue Traders?

I'd LOVE to talk Warhammer lore if you'd like bud.
Sure reach out to me on Discord. After the DLC comes out I plan to do a livestream talking about Warhammer lore where people can jump in and share perspectives.

LOL Thank you!
lemme guess before I start watching, Jae and Idira are the least popular companions (for good reason)
