This was after Danny lost his voice and wasn’t able to sing for quite a few years. I remember when someone handed him the microphone when he was sitting in the audience and encouraged him to try. There were many tears that day as there were on this occasion bcuz so many knew of how traumatic it was for him not to be able to sing for such a long time.
Yes, you are correct, it was at a praise gathering in Indy Indiana when after Ben Speer sang the first verse of the song “The Longer I Serve Him, The Sweeter He Grows” that, Mark Lowry carried over a mic to Danny, the crowd who knew what he’s been through over the years, couldn’t hold back their tears after hearing him sing another verse of that song. Yes, after all these years, I still have to grab the tissue whenever I watch that video.

Raised in the mission field by missionary parents stationed in pacific island nations in the 1960s -1970s I left the lord for 36 years iv just home home to Jesus 5 years ago now I weep as I listen to this we used to sing outside sitting on veranda papa and sister have gone to heaven . Thank you Jesus for taking my broken life back and making me whole again .
Oh Danny was so blessed with such a delightful voice, each time I heard him sing, my soul raised to Our God's Throne in worship! Now Danny sings in God's Holy Choir! What a wonderful God we have!!!

I wrote Let’s Just Praise The Lord in 1973. There was a split in my church over the issue of speaking in tongues. I was a child and I didn't understand why we couldn't just praise God together.

I agree with you. These songs had substance, merit. They were relatable to pur life. Today they all sound the same, are rock performance, and just NOISE! I still sing from the hymnal, and teach this generation of children to sing them.

I want to be like that, with an unknown future ( really for all of us ) and missing a couple of key people in my life, to sing and praise God.. in the midst of it all !! It is hard right now ( 2 in heaven my precious 27 yr. old son and my closest girlfriend since age 4 ) plus many more... been having a tired time ! Could use prayer

I know my precious son is healthy and happy.. here on earth he was handsome, healthy, and extremely loving towards me especially and all others ! Everybody loved him, he was one of a kind ! First of all, I am sorry for your family’s loss, but I wanted to share with you that God has given me dreams, visions, and with my son too, after a couple of dreams.. a warmth, a peace all it’s own ! I miss him so much, but I know it will be “ heaven “ when he and I meet again ! He knew Jesus and I would not want him anywhere else ! I’m so glad your sister in law was given that dream, that assurance of God’s amazing peace ! You know, I don’t add or usually accept people on Facebook, sending this to me, shows a lot of who you are in Christ ! I was visiting my Mom and my sister, and we went to their church and sang this song. When we came to the line "Something beautiful," my sister grinned and pointed to herself. When we came back to that part, it went like this:

I wrote Bless The Lord, O My Soul the night I received the Baptism of The Holy Spirit. I had spent the entire month of July in prayer and fasting leading up to that moment. When the answer came I couldn't contain my joy!

I do not know being a Christian without the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and in 1983 I prayed for a classmate in seminary and God baptized him and then he asked me to pray for his dad and I said no. He said no? I said you pray for him as the Bible says you will lay hands on them..The next morning there was a knock on my door early and I planned on sleeping in this Saturday and I answered the door and my classmate was standing with his dad who had a grin from ear to ear and he said I just had to come over and tell you that I have been a Baptist for 40 years, but a Christian without the Holy Ghost is like a car with 4 flat tires..He is Risen

Such a blessing to listen to Danny Gaither sing. It is as though he had a direct connection to God Almighty when he sang, and I firmly believe he did through the power of the Holy Spirit. What a legacy Danny Gaither has left; one that continues to bless those who choose to listen. God Bless everyone who view this special video!

I wrote Let’s Just Praise The Lord in 1973. There was a split in my church over the issue of speaking in tongues. I was a child and I didn't understand why we couldn't just praise God together.
