    Does it protect you from the natural elements/weather? Yes.
    Does it save you from overpressure? Absolutely not.

    Yeah no. The Avenger wasn't a tank, but it was a self-propelled tank destroyer. SPG implies an indirect gun or howitzer, which the Avenger definitely wasn't. Gaijin plays very loose and fast with its classifications.
    The top was not a "tarp". The Brits called it a "canopy" and it was to protect the open top turret from artillery fragments, the same as was fitted to the M-36s late and post war. The mesh screens shown were blinds to prevent snipers from being able to shoot the crew as they were looking out thru it.
