I skipped out of Poor Things after 5 minutes. I thought it was janky looking. I gave it another shot a few nights later and ended up loving it. The overall quality grew along with the main character. A female protagonist that wasn't a Mary Sue. 2 days later, it deservedly won an Oscar for Emma Stone.

You should really watch the Russian movie (banned in Russia), "Captain Volkonogov Escaped" (2021). A truly one of a kind, fantastic film.
A vision of hell on Earth, as personified by Stalin's Russia in the 1930s (with retro futuristic, anachronistic aesthetics). Harrowing and distressing with a remarkably tear-jerking, spiritual, and redeeming ending. The movie has so much real-world paranoid totalitarian evil that it makes George Orwell's "1984" look tame by comparison.
aptain Fyodor Volkonogov, a well-respected and obedient USSR law enforcer, witnesses his peers being suspiciously questioned. Sensing his turn is approaching, he escapes and is soon on the run, hunted by his former colleagues. Vulnerable and hopeless, Fyodor comes to realize what he had been part of. Suddenly he gets a message from hell: after death, he will be sentenced to eternal torment. The only way to avoid it is to repent and to find at least one person who will give him forgiveness. But time is running out and the manhunt is closing in on him.
    A Russian - French production:

Still waiting for 'Foundation' to return on Apple TV for a third season. I don't think you can keep Netflix down though after the recent release of the Parasyte(with a 'y') series and also 3 Body Problem. If you haven't seen the sci-fi Travelers yet your in for a treat. I was blown away with Mortal Engines which I would describe as a cross between Mad Max, Star Wars and Terminator. Also ther is a SAG award winner called Beef which very interesting and worth a watch.
