- In video two of my dishwasher repair journey I will be fixing the drain error that I am getting. A lot of things can cause this such as a bad drain motor, or pinched hoses, but in my case it was a clogged up water panel or water inlet assembly.

After hours of troubleshooting and google searches I finally found this video and so far the dishwasher is working!!!
Glad it helped.
Hope it keeps working
Found your video and did according to what you had said. So far it’s working. You saved me from spending a lot of money. thank you so much for your help.😊
Glad it helped. hopefully this fixes the issue. My real problem turned out to be a LOT bigger.
Oh man, what happened?
The filter inside the pump exploded, that is what led to the other issues. I also have a video on the pump filter replacement now.
Thank you! Your video saved me from having to call a repair service! My water inlet was the problem. Thank you so much!
Glad it helped.
Thanks for watching
Great video. I watched this video because I found your dishwasher filter replacement video, which I think is a month newer than this one.
I'm guessing the failing filter let a bunch of gunk into the system that caused the drain problem and led to the motor jam a bit later.
Yes I think that this was indeed a problem, but likely caused by the failed / failing filter.
Great video, I accidentally broke the little weld on the orange wire. Whats that wire do? Do you know the part number? Thank you
No I don't know the part number. I think it is a water flow sensor but I could be wrong.
Can you not splice and or solder it back in.
This saved me so much! Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching
I’m gonna try to clean mine. I have water pouring out the rectangular hole right next to the piece that goes thru the side wall. It just pours water out on a fill cycle
water should not be pouring out. Good luck on the fix, I'm certain you will be able to solve it. Appliances are easier to fix than people think.....The parts are stupid expensive, but not too hard to fix.
Thanks. I cleaned all of the tubes and hoses but to no avail. I looked at my inlet but it was clean except for the side where that float is and it was completely filled and black. Because no where else was dirty i thought it was normal. After cleaning the black gunk out , machine is back to working.
Thanks for watching.
The black junk will get you
My dish washer was opened mid wash and now wants to constantly drain, and the error code 4, 8 resets my instruction to start a new wash. It is the same model and has fixed itself when it had this problem before. I did what you did in the video and nothing seemed to change.
Is there water in the drip tray.
If the water evaporates it will fix itself
nicely explained
Thanks for watching
We have the same model of kitchenaid dishwasher and the problem with mine is no water going to the arm and it is not washing the top racks. I did diagnostic and it gave me 9 pause 1 pause repeat which means there’s an electric issue on the diverter but I checked the wires and I don’t see anything.
Mine had many issues and this is just one of them. Ultimately it was the water pump that seized up. Its pretty easy to get to the diverter though. If you haven't taken the pieces off to check it out I would do that. There could be an obstruction in the diverter preventing it from moving. You might need to check the resistance / continuity of the diverter to see if there is a problem with the diverter motor that you can't really see.
I just installed my dishwasher and get the fae5 error. What would that mean.
if it is brand new and gave that error it might be how the drain hose is set up.
I know he gave two terms for that white plastic piece on the back but I can't locate this info online. I have a whirlpool can someone please assist?! I need to figure it out so I can replace it 😅
Recommend searching parts dr or similar sight with your model number.

i did all this. still not draining. we even remove the pump and clean the filter there. still not working.
Is the drain pump turning on
It doesn't seem like to work at all. i tried everything for 3 days now. thanks
@@aelmaecruz3179 what error codes are you getting
@@DIYNorthWe just replaced the pump. still not draining. evern the force drain won't do it. Idk what else can we do.
@@aelmaecruz3179 Maybe there is an issue in the electronics of the dishwasher. Not sure really. It seems like higher level trouble shooting might be necessary in your situation.
Is there no other way to run the machine with chemical, tabs, baking soda or vegetable oil. Seems like it will be a periodic annoying job if it accumulates like that. For me its like a year of ownership.
They make cleaners. I'm not sure how well they break up the clogs in these small passageways though.
I clean that clear reservoir with home depot pipe clear and that is dissolved all in minutes
Good tip
Was the error the 3 beeps?
it was a flashing clean error initially which is the clean light flashing 8 times then a break then 4 times.
the real major problem was the filter exploded. this is just one of many problems that also happened at the same time.
Wow, my Maytag dishwasher is identical to kitchen aid. Glad I didn’t pay the extra for the hood ornament. Just pointing it out. No disrespect intended.
I'm not really sure what the difference between the brands within the same overarching brand really are when it comes to appliances. Its not like a Ford and a Lincoln where the differences should be pretty visible. Generally I think that Whirlpool is the cheapest of the bunch, but that might not even be correct in all situations.
@@DIYNorth I’ve not been happy with my Maytag. Wish they didn’t send the company to Mexico. My dad used to work at their plant in Newton, Iowa when they were still made in America. Their washer and dryer etc would last 10-15 years back then, now we’re lucky to get 5. It’s almost pointless to even buy one anymore.
Hope our businesses come home and we can get those jobs back. A lot of problems would be fixed and the communication/problem solving equations would resolve a lot more quickly. Now we have to interpret our problems several different ways just to figure out anything.
