@LotaSymbol. :"We can be poor, but not dirty.". It is only after the British came to India that India became dirty. In 1750 AD the British abolished the Gurukula system of teaching children. Before 1750 AD India was rich and clean for thousands of years. Why was India clean ? India was clean because the Gurukula system of teaching instilled respect for nature (i.e. animals, trees, rivers) and cleanliness of oneself and one's surroundings.

As someone from Himachal, I must express my concern regarding the current situation. The issues at hand are far worse than what is being narrated. Tourists often leave behind a trail of plastic waste, polluting our beautiful surroundings. Additionally, their practice of playing loud music in open areas disrupts the natural habitat of birds and other fauna that inhabit this region.
Moreover, the government's pursuit of development has resulted in widespread environmental damage, particularly through the construction of highways. These projects have led to the mass destruction of natural landscapes and ecosystems. If this is the kind of development being pursued, it is evident that we do not need such detrimental progress

I went back to my home in Uttrakhand after 10 years and I was devasted to see the mountains of plastics and waste accumulated in new roads.
I request to every tourist visiting holy places use less plastic, even if you are using just kept it with you, bring it back and dump it where the recycling or dumping facility is available.
If you litter it there, nobody will clean it and government facilities are not effective.
During this visit, I made sure to not buy any snacks packed in plastic bags and also I didn't litter them around.
Its request let Uttrakhand be plastic free

Unfortunately very less people think like you and people in India lack discipline and civic sense. They dont care about the environment. The people's mentality is very bad. They will throw garbage and litter around and say, " isko saaf karna toh govt ka kaam hai. Hum tax dete hain". And stuff like that. Majority of the prople and our leaders are like that in India. That's why it is dirty, crowded, ill mannered people.

Govt should take some measures. All accommodation should be registered on a website and they need to stop creating more accommodation. There should be a limit on the no of vehicles entering and restrictions must be placed for cars with less passengers. . More buses should be used in the actual location so people r encouraged to not bring their cars.

I am from Himachal and really tourists from nearby states make life suffocating in peak season. The buses are parked anywhere near water and they cook , take bath ,wash clothes and what not.The government is sleeping and there are no laws or if there are there are , they are not
enforced . They should stay in hotels .This scene can be seen in Kangra bypass road. This time in June it was so difficult to find dust bins to throw garbage . Finally we found one petrol pump near palampur to dump it . The tourist dept has closed their eyes. The situation is pathetic with garbage thrown anywhere and everywhere. High time for us to wake from slumber.

It took 11 hours to travel to Chandigarh from manali by road
We were stuck in traffic for 4 hours straight.
U don't see habitant there generally
    Every house is a hotel.
There were no hospital in entire Manali as we got informed by the cab driver who was local of manali, they only have primary healthcare centres
If anything serious happens they have to travel to Chandigarh .
We were shocked and sad 😢😢

Yeah man as a native of kullu (tirthan valley) the condition during peak seasons just gets out hand , with long traffic on single lane roads , over tourism, no proper garbage disposal ,noise and air pollution it's like a living hell for us natives, I don't oppose tourism in our area it's just that there should proper protocol to deal with everything, all these affect our overall environment and the habitat we live in .

I was so so so pissed off. We skipped the mall road and straight away went to manu temple. What peace what serenity, only because there was no crowd the weather too was chilly and cold. We sat there for 2 hours. The temple has nothing special to spend 2 hours but it was peaceful
