I love this. I suppose my biggest question is, what did you spend during your start up? From websites to inventory? Would you recommend having a certain amount set aside to start such a business?
This was sooo cool to watch! I loved to hear all of this background information about owning a bookstore, because I feel like the general idea sounds super romantic and fun, but obviously there's a business and looots of technical stuff behind it, so thanks for this insight!
This video has given me a lot of courage to just start. Just do it. I can start small, but if I never go for it it'll never get done. Thank you for showing me I can do it
Thank you for this! You’re very relatable and down to earth and your humble and honest approach to this is so great. It’s been a few years since you’ve posted this and I hope you and your store are going strong.
One of my goal in life is to own a book store that is garden theme so my costumers will feel welcomed and relaxed I hope I can own a book store too someday!!!
I'm hoping to open my own bookstore and café in my town, where there's not really any other place to buy books and the only other café is starbucks 😅 I'm terrified it'll fail though
about the thrift store bit: not many people know this, but goodwill has ecommerce! anything that is deemed "too nice" to sell in store gets sent off to ecom
Social media can be fun , but it can also become scripted and overwhelming. Not like in a bookstore, talking and reviewing with coworkers and friends. To have an unpredictable day .😊
This was so interesting, thanks for sharing this! It’s fascinating to see the behind the scenes of owning a bookstore and what it entails. It sounds like a ton of work but must be so fun too 📚 Definitely subscribing, excited to see what else you put out!
Hi! Thank you so much for your videos! I am also 26 and would love to have a bookstore of my own someday. How many books do you usually have in-stock at a given time?
Second hand librarian, why did you make a video about starting your own bookstore when you're not even explaining to everyone how to start your own bookstore? All you talking about is you love books and that's it. I am writing a book and planning on becoming a traditional publish author then maybe start my own publishing company later on in my 50's but for now while I am 37 years old I want be be an author working with a traditional book publishing company and start my own bookstore. I clicked on your video to see if you was giving advice on how to start your own book store but instead you're talking nonsense, but anyway congratulations. You was no help.
@the second hand library....I'm also a lover of books and looking up to starting a bookstore. Can I get any connect handle(LinkedIn, Facebook..etc) of your?

This was a very interested video. Your bookstore is so amazing. Can't wait for my June book!!!
How would you go about creating an ebook store where you rent books?

Hi! Are you a non profit? I’m starting a bookstore and I’m curious if for a regular LLC I’d have to report donation of books for taxes?

You're not bright.
She's just answering questions that were asked. And she literally said how and why she started her company.
You INGRATE!!! I'm thinking of opening a bookstore, and I learned a few things from watching her video.
Six of Crows is awesome! That’s such an awesome idea on how you get inventory!

Watching this in 2024, hope you're doing OK!
