So it would be possible to swap boards with a different laptop? I have a Lenovo legion 5 with a rtx 3060 and one with a rtx 3070, both have the same CPU, but the 3070 one has a crack in the chassis while the 3060 one is fried so won't booth anymore, would it be possible to swap the motherboards? And how much would something like this cost in general?
@AEF6P2 not sure. Only if they look the same inside.
how well did the JB weld hold up on this one ?
It's good
where did you get the replacement keyboard? I have an IMH05H and need a new keyboard since the W, Q and Win key stopped working. Just want to make sure I get the right model replacement
What's the full model number?
it's an 81Y6 15IMH05H
Fuck yeah man, you just saved me a ton of money
Glad it helped. If you haven't already, please like and subscribe so others can find my videos and possibly consider watching a few others and commenting to get the algorithm to recommend my channel. Small contributions are also greatly appreciated. Thanks!
What did you do to insert the keyboard perfectly back? The plastic thingy that you broke were holding it? Me myself need to replace broken keyboard, but there is nothing holding it because the holes that are in the keyboard and the metal plate are gone.. Do I need to do anything there? Solder? Helllp plz
Why do I even make the video? Did you watch it?
Hey man good to see you're still posting videos!
Thanks!
a pain in the as* basically. Thanks for the video
No problem
Hey um what Jb weld did u use I’m new to this
Original jbweld black and red tubes
thank you very much for the video man. my legion esc button is dead, when i seee this i guess i just buy another normal pc keyboard then 😅mobility -1
Use the on screen keyboard lol
@@ItsBinhRepaired haha i forgot on screen keyboard is exist. at first i just wanna replace the keyboard, the price is not that expensive, but when i see the process, omg legion keyboard replacement is such a pain
Yeah... lol
Is it possible to remove the epoxy resin later?
With fire
@@ItsBinhRepaired will it be safe?
You can just rip it out
My plastic rivet fell off near the Alt and Space keys. this happened a long time ago (about six months ago), but I only noticed it now. What caught my attention was the unevenness of the backlight in the area of the spacebar keys, because it fell off by 1-2mm. My question is: is this critical and will the gap drop even more? The left part of the spacebar itself and the buttons adjacent to it bend if you press them hard. All the keys in this area are pressed as before, but without the feeling of strong rigidity, as before. I'm just sure that this happened a long time ago, but the discomfort began to appear only now that I noticed it.
You might want to glue it in place
@@ItsBinhRepaired Are there any dangers when pressing the keyboard?
@@43084ever might pop out more rivets
@@ItsBinhRepaired oh, okay. after all, I will have to remove the motherboard and tape this place. To be honest, this is the first time I will remove the motherboard and I am very afraid of damaging something.
@@43084ever make sure to ground yourself. You could just leave it and don't press too hard
Hey, I just took apart my 16ITH6 and put it back together, I’m not sure what happened but after I put in my new keyboard I placed everything back together but now when I turn it on the power button will light up along with the keyboard but the display stays black and then all the lights will just turn off, the fans also turn on which confuses me and I don’t know how to fix it now.
Let it sit about 10 minutes after pressing the power button. If you didn't do the power drain before messing with the lvds cable, you might have fried the motherboard.
Sorry I didn't use the 2 types of glue, gray and black, you mixed them to stick to the keyboard. Does it have any effect? I'm Vietnamese and none of them are substitutes other than foreign videos.
I'm in Japan and my version only has white rgb, I want to change it to many colors 😂
Can you give me the names of those 2 sticky bottles and is it sticky to death or should I just gently separate it and it will come off (if I need to remove it again in the future)
I have subscribed to your channel, hope you will reply. Thank you very much
By the way my version is legion 5 2020 - 15ACH6H
@@amcter7571 it's very solid when it sets. JBweld original. You need a very strong epoxy or it'll just break again.
My cat spray his urine at my legion touchpad and it move and click by itself after that, do I have to replace it with a new touchpad?
Would.it be normal after that?
bro what the fuck
You'll have to replace it
is the keyboard protected from water in any way? i spilled a small amount of tea (it was cold) and im scared its goong to break, i turned it off after i wiped the water and then left it upside down on a towel, im going to wait 24h for it to dry down, so please reply if i should be concerned about my laptops life
There's no liquid protection
so a small amount of water (a splash to be precise) could lead to serious damage? after i splashed the laptop it was left turn on for about 10-15 minutes, right now its upside down drying, im going to take it to the tech tomorrow, do you think there is some serious damage?
@@ItsBinhRepairedalso, can the keyboard membrane stop the water from going further into the laptop?
@@mvtusonly a tiny bit
damn, i pray everything will turn out to be ok, i cant afford another laptop and i have a lot of work to do for uni
fuck, my keyboard is pressing keys on it's own this seems like such a pain to repair, what happened to the broken plastic parts? might have to disconnect the pin and use external only
Need to use glue or melted plastic 3d printer pen
I'm sorry...but this is a pain in the a**, when I chnged the keyboard of my sons Asus laptop, I used a soldering iron to melt the plastic ribbons and grab the keyboard in place... I told myself I would not do this anymore... now my gf gave me her Lenovo Legion laptop that need to change the case, I changed the bottom, top and lcd case...the top case came with a brand new keyboard and touchpad...after hours and hours of work, I was so happy "look, I did an excelent job...now the notebook looks brand new, and its working... until I found out that some keys are not working...and me , noooooooooooooo
That's the worst! Double check the keyboard ribbon cable D:
@@ItsBinhRepaired Thanks!! I will do this today :)
