the reason he was so nervous according to the book the shrine of jeffrey dahmer: “He was awaited with some interest, for he had unhappily talked to a journalist before the trial had started and revealed that Dahmer had drilled heads to create 'zombies'. Since the matter was then still sub judice, Fosdal could legitimately have been held in contempt of court, but freedom of the press in America has a habit of over-ruling any higher concern. Nonetheless, Dr Fosdal's indiscretion caused him to suffer the biggest fit of nerves in his career. Despite his being a veteran testifier on responsibility issues, his level of confidence on that Saturday morning before court assembled was no more than a kitten's. He paced and prowled, talked to anyone who would listen, spilled a cup of water down his suit, and would clearly have given anything to be anywhere else but in Milwaukee. In the witness-box, Dr Fosdal appeared frightened to death. He could not stop touching things, fiddling with his tie, the microphone, his glasses, his suit, his glasses, the microphone again, while Mr McCann went through the list of his eminent appointments and achievements. It is customary then for opposing counsel to ask questions which might tend to suggest the witness was not all he was cracked up to be (as had happened with Berlin, Becker and Wahlstrom). It would be the perfect opportunity to make heavy sardonic reference to that indiscreet chat with the journalist. Poor Fosdal prepared himself for the onslaught, but he need not have worried. Gerald Boyle had no desire to exploit his discomfiture. In the most gentlemanly act of the proceedings, he said, 'We've known each other for a long time. I have no objection to Dr Fosdal,' and sat down. Still the man could not relax.”
The Netflix series couldn’t nail it better. I live in Wisconsin for the last 31-32 yrs now and when it comes to the police and racism it is totally true.
they could of done it better for eg portraying a man that was gay when he wasn't and little details like he threw out the mannequinn he says that in court but in the series his grandma throws it out.
@@jogoulding4772 sadly the city of Milwaukee is one of the most racially divided cities in the US. I lived there for 14 years (2003-2017) and while there are some wonderful things about MKE the racial problems are tragic.
@@star1q5 Which man wasn't gay? I think they pretty much all were, just some never admitted to it as times were different back then and most gay men remained in the closet.
Dahmer said he didn’t want to hurt/torture his victims which might be true. When he’d dissect animals, they were already dead, he didn’t hurt them himself. But then there were the ones he drilled holes into their heads and pored boiling water/acid into them, I can’t imagine he thought that wasn’t going to be horrific. I suspect he more committed his crimes while the person was passed out, because they couldn’t fight back. Also his last victim wasn’t passed out when he started handcuffing him and telling him he was going to eat his heart, so maybe he was escalating.
I agree with you, he drugged them so they wouldn't fight back or scream for his neighbors to hear but wanted to make it sound like he had some kind of mercy or sympathy for their pain. There was one guy he didn't have enough drugs to sedate so he slit his throat while he was waking up. He also actually killed some animals according to some news reports I watched. Overall I think Dahmer knew that because he was the only witness and was willing to give a confession, people who automatically have to take EVERYTHING he said as FACTS even if he adds a bit of lies here and there, there will be no other witnesses to verify if what he's saying is true. He was running his own show. One moment he says he ate victims so he could feel like they were a part of him, but then he would give human sandwiches to his neighbors. So did he want his victims to be a part of the neighbors too? He lied about knowing Tony Hughes for just 1 day, meanwhile he had known Tony for a whole YEAR according to witness who had seen them together several times. Then later he said he kept the skulls so he would later channel powers through them etc. He had a story and explanation for everything and EVERYONE ate it up and believed him because he was willing to confess. "So basically why would somebody who is willing to confess lie", that's what some people are defending.
@@sarkie3927 I agree with you. He is a liar. Even when telling some truth about himself it is distorted and elaborated with sprinkles of his ideas. It doesn’t make it true. He tried to get an insanity defense. He knew he had necrophilia - and that is just a name of his distorted thinking. It doesn’t mean he is psychiatrically INSANE. All of this “he killed them gently” is BULLCRAP. FIRST GUY he killed he smacked upside the head. Bludgeoned. Sure. He drugged them too. So he could CONTROL them and enjoyed their presence longer. He’s playing it off like he is some meek man - when he’s sadistic and twisted through and through. Never honest with himself.
@@sarkie3927 I don’t think he had anything to gain for confessing, except he wanted to feel free from those dark secrets. He was trying to mend his sins for forgiveness but he knew the families never would. Confession is a great feeling, I know. If you compare other serial killers, you would automatically know the man was trying his best to be a better person.
Apparently he tried to anesthetize his victims- in addition to them already being drugged on Halcion- before drilling their heads. But yeah he wasn't as "considerate" to his victims as alot of people make him out to be. It seems most if not all of what he did what self concerned.
Look I’m sorry I know people died. But 36:37 dr longest resume in the world dabbing his spilled water while preceding to give his insight on a man who just cut up 17 men is really funny
Can you please explain why? As far as I know, most people have no problem naming some of the worst offenders in recent history such as Mao, Stalin, and Hitler. Why should Dahmer be any different? Evil has many manifestations and I believe one of the ways to deal with evil is to bring it into the light and speak out what ii is so it can no longer hide.

Even now? That’s really sad that it’s still
Going on racism. I thought we were of an age of education 😢
they could of done it better for eg portraying a man that was gay when he wasn't and little details like he threw out the mannequinn he says that in court but in the series his grandma throws it out.

God killed dahmer. Do you believe now?

His mouth noises are way too much for me as interested as I am I can’t handle it
WHY IS IT MEN WHO DO THIS? they are ruled by their private parts, that has to be the only answer.
Didn't know he was regularly flashing minors for a year. This man was insane.
why do these experts sound like they need a drink badly
Another documentary said he did, who knows what to believe.

Netflix didnt take your advice on that one cuz the series is called dahmer
Yup Jeffery Dahmer, Netflix needed the title that way, they are a turd going down the toilet fast.

Too late I guess, as Netflix just released a series about him.

Did you ask him being such an outstanding pshychiatrist why he drunk so much?
Because that changes anything right? Lol the whole point of this was to prove he wasn't legally insane, so he can't take the insanity deal. The reason he drank is so unrelated and he was already sentenced by this time I'm pretty sure.
Dear God, I suppose my nerves would have been a mess as a tiny Madison psych in such a high profile case but somebody should have gotten him some Halls or LifeSavers. 😔😒🤨
He was actually nervous probably because he said something to the press when he wasn't allowed to, i think he told them that he drilled holes in the skulls to create "zombies". @@lynsey4224 I just don't understand why there has to be a show on Netflix (accessable to children on their favorite streaming service or the victims families just trying to watch their favorite Netflix shows) when there are multiple documentaries out there.
