AND I got this one on my 3rd loot box - this happened to me 3 times over the years - I really liked the way its plays! this is a great CV disguised as a cruiser!
It is coming back soon....but for steel. 😭 There'll also be a (ridiculously small) chance of getting one via Santa boxes this Christmas (they now drop another box called a "Golden Box" which has a small chance to drop Chik2).
03:32 weird that we don't have CL hybrid tbh, during WW2 there were at least 2 Oyodo, basically a Agano with 2x3 155's (same, as Mogami, literally same turrets), Lesta has it, and i'm so sad that we don't, a really cool cruiser imho Gotland, 6x152mm, 4 in 2 turrets, the rest on casemates, one of, if not the first ship to "see" Bismarck, a cool looking ship with a nice history, WG could milk her tbh 1:33:10 Mogami was converted to a "hybrid" in 1943, only front turrets were kept, rear turrets removed and a platform similar to the one Tone had was added sadly for Skada they kept the 203's instead of swapping them back to the 155s, but i'm pretty sure that WG could find a way to put into the game with the 155s (maybe a Mogami '43 and Mikuma hybrid or something like that)
If im right the gotland was a sweeden warship right? So maybe they could add it alnog with a line of real/theoretical CL hybrids in the pan-europen line since i think a couple of smaller navy's had hybrid ships because of cost
Hmmm Chikuma II Golden has about 23% of the battles logged on NA as Chikuma II does. I have Chikuma II, I did throw a little money at those containers, but not a lot . . . I have five battles in her. Hildebrand . . . sigh. Wargaming finally introduces a German Tier X premium and it's a (cough, cough) hybrid. Ise is my first hybrid, last winter. I enjoy the play, but her multiple tools makes it hard to maximize XP and damage. Maybe 20 battles in Ise. - honestly, Ise got me interested in the Dutch cruisers and I am happy for that. Up to Celebes I had some fun in the line, Kijkduin and Eendracht less so . . . but I love Haarlem, and Johan de Witt is lots of fun. I have Tromp as well, 50 or so battles in her, worth the coal for me. 'the Dickens' . . . yes, an old guy term, older then me, and I was an Eisenhower baby. Done away with rockets against DDs? Well, I had a battle in the Khaba yesterday, and I used two heals to keep myself afloat as I chased down the carrier . . . those rocket planes made my life rough. - Just took Khaba out again for Clan 'naval battles' : admittedly, Co-op, but 601 base XP, 221 ribbons, 61 aircraft destroyed and a von Richtofen sunk. I do love chasing down CVs! Komisaar is big and seems very squishy, that gives you a counter. Steel is tough for me to get, still working towards my first steel ship after 13 months playing. The whining about spotting is a little sad. Spotting aircraft were important historically, and too many want spotting from aircraft erased. I have had a few battles recently where I was teamed with gun-heavy DDs and the enemy fast-torp DDs come in and wipe out half the team. -- If you over think matchmaking, the wait times get worse and some other problem will come in to piss of the whiners. Hybrids are fine. - Now, I like my hybrids. And as someone fighting hybrids that gets me Aircraft damage and plane kills . . . yippee! Yes, I like the idea of Hybrids and I also like the higher range Dutch cruisers. soooooo . . . - Chikuma II, Kearsarge . . . . i don't enjoy Tone . . . okay, Hindebrand would be fun to have. Oregon, Connecticut, Indiana, Virginia and Georgia are solid choices and were pre-dreadnoughts . . . Kentucky and Illinois (which would have been Iowa's if they'd completed them). Michigan was South Carolina's sister ship. Lots of fun choices. Wargaming can create all kinds of US BB lines; Secondary BBs (no main battery), torpedo BBs, trebuchet BBs . . . . lots of choices! - Aichi M6A were Japanese WWII aircraft. They were designed to stow in a hanger on the back of a class of large Subs; original thoughts were to strike the Panama Canal. -- the M6A2 was a developmental aircraft with a larger engine. So, re-watching again. I was on my play test account and checking out the 13.10 stuff. Then I saw Nebraska had been added to my account. Hmmmmm NC hull and forward guns, Douglas Dauntlesses & Curtiss Helldivers, the standard US 10 twin 5"/38 turrets, better speed than NC and great maneuverability for the class. Hmmmmm . . . I had 1.7 million free XP, so, bought one. That opens up the US BBs and allows me to test a hybrid w/dive bombers. So far . . . I love it! Certain battles I just use the aircraft to scout and spot, still working on getting good at aiming. I built a utility setup, mostly survivability and secondaries (he, he). Four co-op battles for testing, 6 kills, 3 main battery, 2 secondaries, 1 Aviation (anti-sub). Gonna play her a few times a day until I am ready to run her in a few randoms. Yes, it appears that I like Hybrids.
@@ClydePlays I think the game plays pretty well at this point. CVs are fine, especially when I get in a boat that has decent to good AA. The Sub nerf was just enough to make them less over-powered. Yes, to many players have blinders on and only want what they want . . . which is fine unless they start ruining game experience. - It's a game, Guys. Let's try to enjoy it!
I really like Halford. But it is a hard ship to play. But my winrate in it speaks for itself. It is over 60%. I have it in 60 to 65% range... You have a ship that you use for caping. You have a smoke you use for your teammates. You have your plaines you use for spoting. Had multiple 0 DMG games where I ended up on second place. If you find yourself a radar Mino on your team you can do some amazing staf with some teamplay with him. DesMoines works to. Or any other small smoke fiering panalty cruser. You can also spot 2 caps at once. If there is no DD on the odter side of a map. The only thing I have a problem with is WG autopilot. The stupid things autopilot end up doing is just crezy. Having option to attack with Halford planes is just a bug if you ask me.
This is a great description of why Halford is more fun for me now than I thought it was when it first came out. She is odd, unique, and can do some powerful things when supported well.
In my opinion, and I only had the tech tree BBs and Kearsarge as hybrids, I think Kearsarge is great. Basically a Tier 9 Montana with worse reload but at Tier 9 and with HE Planes for burns.
I really think Kearsarge is great too - I played it a bit tonight after our discussion yesterday and was reminded just how excellent she was. Just a solid ship. Thanks for watching!
They are very slow - this is true - and that does affect how you aim the guns. But last night, when I put a 26,000 damage salvo into a Petro, I was very pleased with those show shells.
