  • Thoughts and Unboxed. This video goes over my experience purchasing/investing in my first designer belt. While it is expensive you should only invest into something like this if it makes you happy. If you do it that way then you can never go wrong. I talk about sizing, materials and the overall cost to value from my perspective. I hope you enjoy the video or it helps you to have a better understanding before making a first time purchase like this.

    @jsean you’ve had this belt for quite some time now, how has the material held up? Any damage to the holes or cracking?

    • @Jsean
      @Jsean  2 года назад

      Nah none at all. A barely but little creasing where it’s fits in the hole but that’s about it. I don’t really wear mine a lot either. I also wrap it back up and put it in the box too so I’m sure that helps. I suppose if you get it long enough to not have to wear it tight it could help with the creasing. It’s a belt though so either way it’s going to happen. I have a generic black belt that I wear most of the time and when I wanna get a lil fresha I’ll wear the LV on occasion. I just picked up a Ferragamo and Burberry belt too so we will see how they hold up. 💪

    Nice. Just got this belt as well. Very classy and good for casual and/or formal wear. 35mm width is perfect for formal wear and also casual. The print is also much more versatile and you can’t wear it to work.
    The reversible belts are not as durable. There’s a mechanism that tends to break very easily. I got this one because its classic buckle and has no points of failure.

    • @Jsean
      @Jsean  2 года назад +1

      Yea I agree. I like it a lot too. Very classic and not too gaudy. I had the LV reversible but didn’t like it. Those are also 40mm thick too and it had a silver LV. I am going to get another one but with the gold buckle and dark monogram but that one is reversible but it’s all darker brown. I guess it’s okay that this particular one is reversible since I won’t wear it much plus it’s plain dark brown on the other side. 💪

      Sure. I just answered this for another person with your same exact size in the comments. I will copy and paste my answer below. “Sure, I’d go with either 80 or 85cm (32/34inch). I went a size up from my normal size and now I’ve dropped a pants size so tech I’m two sizes up and my belt still fits fine. I’m on the second to last hole. If that’s the model with the LV as the buckle then you can get away with a bit longer on top of what you would get because the end of the belt actually tucks underneath/behind the belt when you tighten it up so you can’t tell it’s long. I think 80cm would be good if you think you’ll be stuck in your size for a long time. If you think you would fluctuate then just get the 85cm. You will be good with either one. LV belts are cut small and you always want to aim for one to two spare holes on your belt. Good luck and let me know how you like your belt and fit when you end up getting it!”

    • @Jsean
      @Jsean  2 года назад +1

      No problem! Yea 100 cm for that proper fit. Some are not comfortable with that because they are not used to it fitting that way. If you think you may feel that way then get 105 max. When buying other designer brands that had slight shorter tail ends of the belt it made me feel like I needed to go another size up because they appeared a bit shorter in total length so I went up another full size. While I did like that fit, the more I looked at it the belt looked too long so I still went back to my 95 (2 sizes up). It’s sort of weird but once you get used to seeing it fit the proper way anything other than that feels sloppy. Hope that helps and you get one soon! If you can let me know how it goes 💪

    Hey I really want to by a belt and I’m a 32 on pants size. What size would you recommend?!

    • @Jsean
      @Jsean  4 года назад

      I always recommend a size up with LV. So a 34 for you would be a 85cm in LV. If you wanted to go a little longer then you can go 90cm which is 2 sizes up which equals a 36 waist but I wouldn’t go higher than that. It’s always recommended to have 1-2 spare holes. Anything longer than that looks too sloppy and getting your exact size cuts it too close. Some LV belts are designed to tuck underneath the belt so if it’s a little long it won’t show but if you had the choice I’d go with the sizes I recommend. I Hope that helps and good luck on your purchase!

      I’d personally go with the 95 or 100. You typically only want one to two open holes. They have an updated chart where they show belt size being different than pants size. Take the pants size and use that where it says belt size and get one to two sizes up. At the time I went one size up but drop my pants size recently so now I’m technically two sizes up and it still fits perfect and proper. Hope that helps! 💪

    • @Jsean
      @Jsean  2 года назад +1

      I’d order either a 80 or 85cm. Probably prefer the 85. With these belts you should only have a hole to two holes available when worn properly. Now if you get the belt with the LV buckle you can get away with a longer belt because the end tucks underneath and can’t be seen. I’ve had one my size and one a bit longer at the same time and even though I could have gotten away with the longer one I preferred my one to two sizes up instead. I’d only go bigger if you think you would go up in pants size for some reason. Hope that helps and good luck with everything! 💪

      I saw there is a guy below in the comments that wears the exact size your father wears. He said he ended up with the 85 as he thought the 90 was too big so maybe the 85 may work better especially if you don’t want to potentially add any extra holes. • @Jsean

      In my opinion 100 is a bit too long. If you get the belt with the LV logo the belt tucks behind the buckle and the belt so if you had a longer belt you couldn’t see it. In general you only want a few spare holes. In this video I got the size when I was wearing a 36 pants. I’ve since dropped down to a 34 and sometimes a 33 in certain brands. My belt still fits perfect. I’d suggest getting the size I have in the video as we are pretty close to the same size right now.

    trying to get a lv belt typically use 38 and 40 pant size what size y’all recommend

    • @Jsean
      @Jsean  2 года назад

      If you fluctuate between 38 and 40 and you want it to fit properly I’d go with a 105cm. You can wear it as long as you personally want but if you want that proper fit you just want one or two open holes when wearing it. When I got mine I went one size up. After that I dropped a pants size and the belt still fits perfectly with it technically now being two sizes up. 105 is one size up from your 40 but two sizes up from your 38 so I think it’s a good middle ground. If you went 110 it may be a little too much if your more on the 38 side. If you get the “LV” logo buckle you can get away with a little longer if you really wanted to because the tail end of the belt tucks behind the belt so you can’t see it. I tried that with that style and while it still fit and no one could see how long it was I still chose to go the one size up which is now two sizes up from my current pants size. Hope that helps!💪

It won’t be as big as you think. Belts are not really meant to be super long etc. mine fits proper with still a few adjustments holes to spare. @@sheaturner3229 nice 👍 I recommend if you wear a 36 pants to get your belt with a 40 equivalent. I got a 95 when I wore a 36 but recently dropped to a 34 and it is still fine. I always recommend about two sizes up from your pants size and two sizes meaning by 2’s. So 36 would be 38 for one size up and then 40 for two sizes up. This will allow a few hole adjustments loose and tight but with a proper fit. If you want it longer I wouldn’t go up no more than 3 sizes unless that’s what your into. Long story short is I’d recommend 40 equivalent for you which would be a 100. 105 at the max but 100 would be the proper fit in most cases. If your not used to fitting your belt proper you can easily feel like it’s too short at my recommendations but it’s not. It’s just not what you may be used to. I recently bought a faragamo and Burberry belt and tried to go up one extra size and quickly realized it looked better at my 95 so I stick with that across all designer brands. Some brands tail ends look shorter in equivalent sizes but once you find your size I’d stick with it across the board with all designer brands. Hope that helps! 💪

A 90 would technically be two sizes up for you but either will work for you. In the beginning I wasn’t used to wearing my belts to sort of just fit I used to naturally wear them longer. To wear the belt properly you should only have one to two open holes when wearing it. You can go longer if you want with the LV buckle belts as the belt tucks behind when you tighten it. I’d only go that route if you really think your pants size will go up though. Hope that made sense. 💪

    Do your belt smell of anything. Most of the LV items with a "new" datecode that I got from LV own website, has a strong odor.

      M.V. I’ve never noticed anything but since you mentioned it I went to go check. I can’t smell anything at all with mine and I had three in total. Two from the store and the one I kept that was ordered from the store and then sent to the store for pick up. None of those had a smell of any kind. If I put my nose right on the belt I can smell a tiny bit of something but only when I’m super close. The smell is nothing of a odd smell though. Hope that helps.

      @@Jsean I do also only smell it on those that have a newer datecode. Like my last purchase which is made the very last week of 2019, week 52. en.louisvuitton.com/eng-nl/products/lv-initials-40mm-reversible-belt-damier-graphite-nvprod1760067v

      M.V. Yea that’s weird. While it shouldn’t have an obvious strange smell I would not worry too much since you ordered it directly from their website. If you can smell it from just wearing it or holding it at arms distance I would definitely send them an email and ask them about that. I can only smell a slight material smell but nothing out the ordinary when the belt is basically right next to my nose.

      @@Jsean Do you always put your belts back into the box when you don't use them or do you only have them in there original dustbag?

      M.V. I roll them up, put them in the dust bag and then slide it back in the box.
