  • Here I am going over the newer Gen 3 Milwaukee Impact Driver 3453-20. The price has dropped since recording this video. You can find it on deals throughout the year for $99 and othertimes around $115 which i think is very fair for this tool. After I tried out a this model with one my friend had. It was a big leap up in work efficiency compared to my Kobalt 24v version. Amazon had this on prime sale for $89 so I ordered it. It does a very good job. No complaints from me.

    One of my favorite belt clips. Thought about buying the surge version but I didn't realize it was less powerful than the regular fuel version.

      It has close ability to this one, but it is much slower. But I tell you... Noise difference is amazing.

    I have dewalt, flex, ryobi, and mainly Milwaukee, this is truly the most OP drill in the market, it’s like 2 pounds and offers 1500lbs or torque, I drilled like 100 6inch wood deck screws today and this thing is CRAZY, I normally don’t use impact drills on wood but I wanted to test it since I got it for $81 on Amazon and have another on the way, and this tool was consistent, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DRILL over all other drills, the m18 version has 2000lbs or torque, but the tool is like 5 lbs with the battery and a lot bigger and a bit more expensive, the m12 batteries are cheaper, have just about everything but smaller that the m18 line offers, the new m18 battery coming might change things but for now, THIS DRILL IS OP AND IS ULTIMATE IN SO MANY WAYS, truly an ultimate drill, just don’t think it can self drill carriage bolt lol

    I have one of these and swapped in a 1/4 square anvil on it, this little bastard will out perform a lot of my older dewalt 20v stuff. Fast and light, perfect tool for under the hood or dash.

    • @spevakdesigns
      @spevakdesigns Год назад +1

      How did that go swapping the anvil to 1/4" square? I looked into this a while ago and couldn't determine if it was possible or not. I did swap one of my ratchets from 3/8" to 1/4" and am happy I did so, but I could definitely benefit from a pistol grip impact as well.

      @@spevakdesigns Anvil is from the 2552-20 stubby 1/4 impact. Straight swap in, about 10 or 15 minutes. Couple of RUclips videos on it.

    I've owned several different impacts and this new M12 Gen 3 is one I usually grab first. Its small, lightweight and has nice lights to see what your doing. I would not use a impact driver for lug nuts (better to use an impact wrench with the anvil) even though it can work okay for a lot of cars but as we saw here, it may not. And good chance of breaking those 1/4" adapters. But for smaller bolts such as 5/8 or less and most screws, this impact works great.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  Год назад +1

      Absolutely agreed. This is not my go to for lug nuts I was just trying to show that it is capable of it if need be. And same here this is my go to for almost all of my light to medium work. It has been fantastic so far. Thanks for sharing your thoughts as well

    Glad you are reviewing this. I missed out on many of the past Home Depot bundles with battery for $99 for last gen. ETA, I didn’t know you had one of the Milwaukee 1/4” flex heads. Wow, the mighty fuel may not be able to make the listed numbers huh

      Ya I wish I would have bought mine when they had big deals on them but I still really like it. Ya I'll have a review on the flex head ratchet soon. And ya I watched like 3 videos where they stated it under performed from what was stated but from my use with it over the last month. It has performed very well for everything I needed it to.

    I have the M18 gen 3 impact love it quite a bit, but for when I have to do overhead tasks or just the occasional screw here and there for finish trim I'm debating about getting the M12 just to lose weight on my toolbelt a bit. I've tried the DeWalt XR impact a few guys on my jobsite have it. Not overly impressed with it, It feels very light compared to my M18 which is good, but at the same time it's so much slower and the few that got left out in the rain are rusting internally when looking through the vent holes which is a joke considering my M18 has been rained on so many times it's not funny and there's 0 damage anywhere. Now I don't know what iteration of the XR these are just says XR on it didn't care enough to look into it after initial impressions.

    You did a good job explaining how to use this. I know pretty much all of them are the same with this one I wasn't certain how to use the power settings.
    I just literally received mine from FedEx. I'm charging the batteries as I'm writing this comment. I'm definitely going to try the lug nut test.
    I bought this mostly to do automotive things. I have my M18 that I use when building something out of wood.
    I enjoyed the video I made sure to give you a big old thumbs up I hit the subscribe button.

    Should the batteries be removed when not using the tool ? Does leaving them in cause them to die ?

    Does the impact collet spring discharge/eject the bit when you pull it out?
    I thought it did, like my dewalt, but seems it doesnt?

      No I thought I mentioned that. That is one thing I do not like about it compared to my Dewalt. It's a small feature but one I really enjoy on my Dewalt and wish this one did the same.
