I live in Bergamo, and I promise you, it is a beautiful city and since it sits in the middle of Lombardy, this allows you to easily reach other cities and lakes such as, for example, Iseo with the beautiful Montisola.
Thanks for watching. You are lucky to live there as its amazing. I wish I could spend more time there when the weather was better and explore more of the surroundings
So many stunning views, beautiful buildings and delicious looking food. Even with the low cloud, you still got a great view from the funicular. Great video as always Barnyz.
Thank you 🙂🙂🙂 the weather was rotten, unfortunately, but even so, it's a great place to explore, especially as there are lots of interesting buildings to go in and escape the rain. Cheers from barnyz 👍👍👍
Very nice place and beautiful scenery. Your Bergamo tour is so great. It's a place I want to go someday. Full view and Big like. I wish you a happy Friday...👍👍
Thanks for watching and im super happy to hear this video helped you make a choice to visit Bergamo as its really wonderful. I hope you get better weather than I did when filming!
Always been fascinated by the Romans so you would think we would have visited Italy before but nope, never. Nice that you can get a flight right in to the city and it did look a busheling place. The cable cars (cannot spell what you called it) looked a good way to get about and see the sights from above, as did the City Tower, which would have been well worth the climb up for those views. The Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore ( I copied that) was magnificent and those paintworks were stunning, as was the dome - now that is real art! The cathedral was also very impressive and amazing to have two grand buildings like that in one place. The city walls looked a great place to get an overall view of the city, which looked a must see place on an Italian extended visit, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan. Italy is a land full of treasure and amazing landscapes so you probably should head over at some point if you get the oppotunity. The local airport there is called Milan Bergamo and its one of those Ryanair hubs so has lots of really cheap flights (I think our flights were about £20-30 each way) :)
Thank you for this video as we shall be visiting Bergamo in the near future. Was undecided where to stay but am convinced now that staying in the Alta region will be better. 😊
Thanks for watching. I agree many great cities and ive been lucky to visit a few. I have videos on Milan and Mantova already and in the next few months there will be new ones on Como and Brescia :)
Wonderful video my friend and such a beautiful place with so many amazing views. It's so cool to be able to get on a funicular and quickly be rewarded with panoramic views. There are so many interesting little gathering areas and many include historic churches. The church that didn't allow filming inside has a wonderful exterior with a kind of 3d cube design- really cool. Thanks for sharing these wonderful views- the pacing of the video, especially the pan shots is very pleasant. Wishing you guys all the best. ✌️ Cheers from Shawn and Mai. 🍻🍻
Thank you :) Bergamo is really wonderful, there are quite a few other cool things to see there as well that i didnt include in the video (try to stick to 10 otherwise these videos get to long). Hope you are both having a great week cheers from barnyz
I love cities where the weight of History is fully present, and that seems to be one of the characteristics of this city. The Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore left me totally speechless 👍
This is a very nice video of you! Bergamo is such a beautiful city. The places looks really great. The city walls and the cathedral are very impressive. I really like the footage. It was very interesting to watch. Many greetings 😀
hello in Bergamo there are places to stay anb be able to move easily to verona and Milan by train since .I plan to visit thank you this video will be useful to me.
hello. I stayed in the Best Western Hotel Piemontese. It is opposite the main train station in Bergamo. There are plenty of direct trains to Milan and other places as the train station is quite big. Im not sure about direct trains to Verona as its a bit further away so I believe you need to switch trains somewhere but even so it takes less than 2 hours according to www.trenitalia.com/
im not sure when that happened. There were signs up to not use cameras when i was walking in (although lots of people ignored it and used mobile phones but my camera is big and not so easy to hide what im doing)
going there for a weekend next month. will be visiting Como lake as well. any nice place to eat and have a coffee? nice I mean best value for money and views ;) not a cheap person but not willing to spend a fortune :D
Hey we did not find a place with both nice food and views. However we did find this pricey place that sold really amazing cakes called Cavour1880 on "Via Gombito" and we took the cakes out and around the corner to a public square and eat them there (along with take out coffee, they were expensive but worth it). On that same street there were some other nice looking places to get pizza slices etc that you could also take out and find some nice place to sit and eat. But i suspect the more value for money places are in the new city. We found a few nice cafes on Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII but of course no views down there :)
@@Barnyz so I will just go with the flow / if I like a place I will stay. As usual no planning just fun ;) P.s are there lots of people? Around 20-30 years old or mostly elderly citizens and All tourists go to Milan etc?
@adamkuc9440 bergamo seemed to have a mixture of all ages with lots of families but it was Xmas holiday season when I was there so might not be typical
Thanks for watching. Bergamo has too many interesting places and I could not include them all. google translate / Grazie per la visione. Bergamo ha troppi posti interessanti e non potevo includerli tutti.

Cameras not allowed in the Colleoni Chapel? When did that happen? Last time I was there in 2019 I took plenty of photos.
im not sure when that happened. There were signs up to not use cameras when i was walking in (although lots of people ignored it and used mobile phones but my camera is big and not so easy to hide what im doing)
Specially you mentioned the name of the placers, without the name is just another building.
thanks for both your comments Vida, its most appreciated
