I appreciate so much how you don’t waste time with 5 minute intro and outros. Everything is to the point and lovely to watch. Also you never ask to subscribe or comment or like or whatever so basically what I’m trying to say is thank you.
to all the critics in the comments: minimalism isnt the same for everyone. thats her idea of minimalism, where she is only taking what she knows she really needs. she said that she may not get to do laundry, that explains the amount of clothes. also even if she were to, minimalists arent people who just throw everything away and hate collections. some minimalists still like own a lot of stuff that makes them happy and i dont think you need to tell them what to do. youre stereotyping them. peace :)
Alma Gonzaga very true. I went to Hawaii for 8 days and I brought 1 peace of socks. Another time I went to London for 2 weeks and used 10 pairs of socks. It really depends on the person and the place
Random unsolicited advice: even if you don't get a chance to do real laundry, underwear is generally super-easy to just wash in the sink and it dries overnight. I usually bring a travel size bottle of Soak Wash in case I have a stain anyway. However, since it all fits, no reason not to bring enough for the whole trip and then wash it at home :) Hope you have a wonderful trip!
I've definitely washed my underwear in the sink before, and I usually wash my period underwear out while I'm traveling too. But thankfully underwear don't take up much room and I can pack enough for the entire trip, but if it were longer than 2 weeks I'd plan on washing them.
Knitter Glee I always do underwear when I travel by taking a solid bar of laundry soap my Ethique. I cut it in half to take up less room and it lasts a looong time, and it doesn’t count in your liquids. They also make solid shampoo and conditioner bars, and you can find them all on Amazon.
I would recommend placing all of the wet items in a clear bag in the outside pocket of the backpack (hand sanitzer, included) since you have to pull that out in US TSA checks. It will save a lot of time. Having to get into a piece of luggage and then get inside of yet another bag to then get to a clear bag and then having to grab hand sanitzer from a second bag takes a ton of time when in the TSA line.
I have pre-check so I don't have to pull anything out. But if I'm every flying in another country and know I will have to pull stuff out I put it in a very easy to reach location to make it easy :)
I would really recommend using bags or whatever to put your dirty shoes in( I just assume you have been wearing these before) and perhaps one of these dryer sheets which help with the overall scent of your suitcase!
It's funny when you spend all that time nicely packing the carry on and it all gets ruined by the security guys at the airports undoing everything for you ...
I will put those must be (or most likely) taken out when getting through airport security - laptop, ipad, powerbank, liquids like toothpaste, makeup foundation, lotion, cream, etc. - into the backpack so I don't need to open up my well packed carry on case and save time for everybody :)
I totally get it. I was going somewhere just for a weekend trip and I wasn't worried cuz I had my period 2 weeks before so... 14 DAYS.. and guess who decided to show up the same day I was leaving? It was also so bizarre because my cycles are very far apart. PERIODS can't live with them..... yeah that's about it.
I get that. It's insane. I was so excited back in December because my period would be the week before my trip. Nope...it was late. Mother Nature has a sick sense of humor.
thought the same thing. Plus, she packed her uncovered toothbrush with her period cup (barf). Wouldn't be surprised if that backpack has made contact with many a public restroom floor. She seems like the type who walks around barefoot on an airplane. UGH.
Everyone does minimalism differently and no one should be shaming you for how you pack and what you are packing because everyone's needs are different when traveling! I really enjoyed this video and liked the way you filmed it, great ideas on what to pack too, keep it up! :)
Maria Koterska people seem to keep forgetting that minimalism is about having and keeping only what YOU need and what is considered important to YOU. So it will look different for each person.
For me, I have a waterproof bag for my shower items. Then I only bring one or two pair of comfortable shoes which I wear while traveling that goes with any outfit. Next, most of my tech and it chargers stay in my purse or backpack along with an outfit just in case my bag gets lost if I have no carry-on. A great tip is to roll your clothes/outfits. You can also use a vacuum sealer which makes for more room and allows you to bring more stuff.
Some great tips there. I always pre pack my liquids into a sandwich bag and it is most definitely at the top of my bag so I can easily whip it out at customs. I also wear my bulkiest clothes, once you're on the plane you can take them off. I love packing light, i hate carrying stuff, so am always seeking new tips.
Things that could save more room: One journal instead of 4, compact-able water bottle, only bring ipad OR laptop, not both. The toiletries could also be more compacted (put pills in bags instead of bottles) :)

Hey thanks for posting such a helpful video! I actually can speak up and say I DO use the birth control pill, not just for pregnancy prevention but to manage my period which otherwise would be much heavier and I would have much worse PMS. But that works for me and I know not every woman wants to take 1 everyday.
Put a clip over ur razor blade to save even more space. Like the one on ur toothpaste. U can use a pill bottle to hold ur Bobby pins, hair bangs, jewelry, floss sticks, etc. Where'd u get ur coin purse??? I love that magnet or whatever style!!!!
I know this is old, but for anyone trying to get ideas about what to pack, the liquids are a problem. You can't take a full size toothpaste tube, even if it's basically empty, and aerosols are also not allowed in carryons.
I would’ve take only the backpack and leave the carry on as well the 5 journals and the laptop since you have already an iPhone and iPad that can be use for the same purpose with the GoodNotes app and for drawing the procreate app half of the stuff should left behind
I found a lightweight packable hooded rain jacket that is in it's own small pouch with a fabric handle. Using a carabiner on it's handle I clip the pouch to the outside of my big bag for easy access when the weather turns. [You have probably learned by now that the pronunciation of 'Voila' is: Wwaah-laah!]
Why do people put their shoes in their suitcases without putting them in a bag? But how nice that you only need a couple of things. A couple of years ago I flew to Madrid from Germany. It was a 4-day trip. Since it was September, it was gonna be hot there. It was so awesome to only pack 2 shorts and 2 shirts with no sleeves. Underwear and socks for a couple of dayOn the way there I was wearing leggings, asports jacket and a raincoat. then in a little pouch a solid shampoo that I also used as body soap, a little. it of toothpaste and floss. What a great feeling. I purchased an AEVOR travel pack that was on offer (eco-friendly, vegan materials...) yesterday + I have a smaller one and now I am looking for the next trip 😊
You’re the first woman I’ve seen pick Bras 😂 no one ever packs them lol, awesome video! I can’t wait until I can country hop. I hope the COVID cases decrease
Some people can wear things multiple days (I personally can wear a shirt/jeans combo for 3-4 days with no smell as long as I change my underwear and use deodorant)
I was thinking the same thing. I am a minimalist packer but I plan on doing washing throughout the trip. A couple outfits is fine, as is a couple pairs of socks and undies, if you are able wash items.

I never pack that much when I travel.. I went to Europe and UK for 16 days and had it all in a smaller Osprey bag and did just fine. I this just seems like much to me.
Thank you for sharing what you pack for periods. There are some women who make these videos with no mention of packing or buying menstrual products at their destination and I'm like? You're packing for a month, should I just assume you're wearing a menstrual cup on the flight for storage or?
Siobhan Clark , Many people don't use that stuff. Plus it is a bit personal. You wouldn't ask her to show her panties and bras or her social security number would you? I mean, don't you know if you personally would need the items that you mentioned?
I totally get wearing the bulkier items for travel/flying but am I the only one who *roasts* in airports & on planes? I tend to wear my lightest layer while traveling which makes packing light more difficult but not impossible. Buying super light but efficient clothing is the key.
Have you tried using a vacuum bag to flatten the volume of your clothes? I’ve tried it once so far and used the hotel’s vacuum cleaner to flatten everything again before traveling again.
I used to use ziplocs way way back in the day to compress stuff, but now I find that packing cubes keeps everything compact enough for me. But I hear others enjoy the vacuum bags too!
Keep your liquids and gels in the outside zip pocket of your day pack, otherwise you'll be the one holding up the queue at security while you unlock your carryon bag and hunt through all your little baggies! Also I'd pack a credit card or two!
i am both annoyed and entertained by how little you care to properly identify the stuff you're putting in your bag hahaha but really like the video, it was oddly satisfying
I’ve tried shampoo bars before and they left a film on my hair over time. Have you been using that for a while and does it not leave a film? I would love to find one that doesn’t.
I have been using shampoo bars for a while, I think I'm on my 5th or 6th bar. I use the ones from "Salt Spring Soapworks" and I like them a lot, I haven't noticed a film from them and I have fine hair. I still use conditioner with them. They're a Canadian company and ship across Canada and the United States. Hopefully they're available for you to try :)
I start my 2 day roadtrip to Portugal in a week (I need to drive through France and Spain in a HEAT WAVE) and I start my period on the exact same day..
Hi Victoria, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now, and especially enjoy your videos on journaling and the fertility awareness method. Just wanted to say I hope you have a good holiday, also it’s funny that your coming to Bristol because that’s where I live. What are your plans for your time here? Allison
Thanks for this! Do you travel on European airlines such as EasyJet? My friend and I did a Euro-trip last year and we kept having bag issues. Her carry-on was the size of yours and had a similar sized backpack (Swiss gear) but she was forced multiple times to stick her backpack in her already stuffed carry-on (queue me sitting on her suitcase as she tries to zip it shut lol). She also had to check it in on fully-booked flights (increasing the risk of losing her luggage and it’s less efficient having to wait for it once we get off the plane). I completely backpacked with a HynesEagle and had no issues with bringing it as a carry on, but I had to be suuuuper minimalist with what I brought and my back was already killing me on day 2 of our two week trip. Is there a middle ground between how each of us packed? Have you had any issues like this or did we just get the short end of the stick on our trip? Lol! Thanks in advance! 😊🙏
There are definitely budget airlines everywhere that have super strict baggage rules. I think it's a good thing to do a quick look online before you pack to see what's allowed. Some tickets only allow a tiny bag that can fit under the seat in front of you. We were concerned flying Air Asia a few years ago that our packs were too big so we always put more in our small bags to make our packs look smaller, but they never batted an eye at us so who knows.
don't you have to open your carry on case for the liquids and show them the package? I always try to have it on the top side of the carry on, so either they see, it is realy minor on the radar rather quiquly. or sometimes I take it out anyway. but that has to go quickly, otherwise I wouldn't have the nerve and I know, others waiting in line, don't and they try to hurt me with their eyes. or sometimes the gueards there ask me to take it out before it goes through the radar. but you have those hard cases with the zippers and you did packed your things rather tight. (ok, that is the main reason, why I never have those hard cases, but I wonder, how do you handle that on the airport?)
I noticed everyone pack their laptop with the screen facing the inside of their bag. I always pack mine so the screen is facing my back. Less chance of an impact crack.
I appreciate so much how you don’t waste time with 5 minute intro and outros. Everything is to the point and lovely to watch. Also you never ask to subscribe or comment or like or whatever so basically what I’m trying to say is thank you.

when I travel I normally bring the pair I'm wearing while travelling and 1 pair of leggings if it's not too cold where I'm going lmao

you say minimalist but im gonna go ahead and point out that in the beginning there were 6 different journals lol

i am both annoyed and entertained by how little you care to properly identify the stuff you're putting in your bag hahaha but really like the video, it was oddly satisfying
This is more than what i usually pack and I always overpack
And how much lb is that?? Looks like more then allowed in plaines
I loved this!
Jessica Law look for Ethique products on Amazon. I’m pretty picky about my hair products, and I love their shampoo and conditioner bars.
I found your video very very helpful thank you for sharing
Great packing.. be careful with a lot of essentials in a zip so easily accessible though .. 😊👍
I start my 2 day roadtrip to Portugal in a week (I need to drive through France and Spain in a HEAT WAVE) and I start my period on the exact same day..
You've got this! Take plenty of comfy, light, loose outfits for the road trip. As well as plenty of snacks and water!
This was great, thankyou 😊

Hi Victoria, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now, and especially enjoy your videos on journaling and the fertility awareness method. Just wanted to say I hope you have a good holiday, also it’s funny that your coming to Bristol because that’s where I live. What are your plans for your time here? Allison
I love Libby! Free ebooks!
Maybe I missed it, did you bring a razor? I’m searching for the zero waste razor but I don’t believe they’re allowed in carry-on luggage.
It's just my old Venus razor that I've had for years. It's allowed. You just want to avoid like a box cutter, utility knife sort of blade.
don't you have to open your carry on case for the liquids and show them the package?
Two weeks in France!!!! Chile, that’s not enough clothes for the weekend. Lol
How many kg do they allow for carry on? Cause here we’re only allowed 7kg 😕
