Spring Day was not specifically written about the Seawol disaster, but the MV for it is a (veiled) tribute. The song has never left Melon charts in Korea since its release.
Spring Day is our Queen song. It has never left the Melon charts since it was released in 2017! Every spring it rises. Whenever BTS releases music it rises. In December when the remaining members enlisted ARMY charted Spring Day to number 1 in many countries because we were sad. It was written about missing a friend, however, the music video pays tribute to the accident. Stephanie did an excellent job explaining the accident in a very professional journalistic clear way, but if you want an explanation with more raw emotion that includes the music video explanation I’d recommend the one by Italian ARMY. It’s a hard watch though. You will need a box of tissues. Thank you for another lovely reaction. Maybe it’s time to watch Taylor’s Guide to BTS for a little more background. ❤
A wonderful live performance is Festa Room Live. It was done for their 8th year anniversary. It’s a medley of B side songs. It’s just a taste of some songs, but shows more of the versatility. I believe the RUclips channels Enjoy BTS More has the English subtitles for their spoken words included. The official release just has the subtitles for the songs.
Not Tiny Desk but they have a live where they sing snippets of their songs. It's really good 10 minutes (or so) of live. '2021 Festa Room Live' This was filmed during the pandemic. They're dressed 70's style as Dynamite had recently released and the mv had a 'disco' theme. For the song 'Butter', when you can, you should see their 2022 Grammy performance of Butter. Rolling Stones magazine rated it the 14th best Grammy performance in history. It got them a lot of accolades. You'll have to fade the screen or put writing over the video if you post a reaction.
Facts! Their 2022 Grammy performance of Butter was totally different from their debut disco theme of the song. The Grammys was more of a James Bond spy theme on a major GRAND scale. It was epic!!! They even received a long-standing ovation from the celebs in the audience. Fun fact: J-Hope had just been released from his Covid quarantine 2 days before the performance. Plz plz plz react to it!
You won't see many KPOP groups doing Tiny Desk and Unplugged performances I feel because you have to sing live! RM and V has solo Tiny Desk performances also check those out too! 🙋🏽♀️🤗💜✌🏽🙏🏽
Tiny Desk does give you a live performance, but not the dame as a live stage performance with the added atmosphere of a willing and eager crowd. Spring Day was just a song about missing friends, it is the MV that they made that hints at something more, at the time it was made you really couldn't speak about the Sewol disaster because the government was being very repressive about it. I don't know if you are aware RM did a tiny desk concert about a year ago, for his album Indigo.
Thank you so much for your wonderful reaction. Yes there musicality is incredible. And their lyrics so incredible. Since you liked this tiny desk if you haven't already check out V's Tiny Desk it's beautiful and so fun.
Sorry about that random black bar on the top of the screen! Somehow happened during the exporting of the video and I didn’t notice until it was uploaded, I’ll make sure to double check next time!
Hi, JahJah! I'm always happy to see your reactions. About Spring Day, the song itself is about loss, longing and is very melancholic (all these emotions combine into Korean feeling called han, there is no direct translation of this word). As to MV, general consensus between ARMYs is that it hints, in many ways, to the tragedy of Sewol, it was never officially confirmed nor denied. You will get a ton of recommendations to watch music video and then explanation by Italian ARMY (she is super detail orientated on the MV and Sewol tragedy, not the song). Since you already watched Rotten Mango on the tragedy itself (one of the best, in depth insights, in my opinion) I would rather recommend watching an explanation video by ARMY Theoriest instead, it focuses more on the song than mv. Also, I feel like I need to mention, EVERY INTERPRETATION IS VALID! Our theories are based on our own experiences and hardships, no one should deny our feelings because, interpretation by majority is different! I personally lost touch with a very close friend and this song hits me in the feels in that regard, someone loses loved ones in other ways and it hits them differently. Every feeling is valid and every theory/interpretation is valid! Sending love! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I'm certainly no "style expert" but their outfits at least in this video are retro for sure. Almost bordering on what was called "mod" back in the 1960s. Regarding the song "Spring Day"...... The concept and meaning behind "Spring Day" during a V Live broadcast, RM stated that he wrote the lyrics when thinking of his middle and high-school mates, from whom he hadn't heard in a long time.
Jimin, my BIAS always slays in my opinion😜 But the guys knocked the Tiny Desk performance out the park! Spring Day does make you emotional tho...😢 But check out RM and V both did Tiny Desk concerts as well.
Spring Day the song isn't about the ferry but the MV has a lot of hints that it is dedicated to it. As for Save Me yes it has an MV but you might also want to see an performance with Save me and I'm fine the songs are connected (i won't spoil it and tell you how but i think you'll find it interesting.)
I refer to Jimin as the 'Paisley Prince' on this one... his shirt is just beautiful... BTS always look classy but for this Tiny Desk they looked particularly smooth....
You definitely need to watch their cover of Coldplay's Fix You. It is so incredibly beautiful. You've got such a rabbit hole to go down. They also covered Puff Daddy's Missin You and their vocals are insane.
The performance and song informs their stage-clothing style (which is often separate of their personal style). Early BTS was dark colors and slick hiphop styling. Then they had a tight, ripped-jeans phase, then streetwear, then a softer phase -- but other styles were used in and out of those phases for specific performances. Eventually it's just become whatever the song needs.
Clothing due to Dynamite and they stayed in those clothes eg didn't have a change of custom. The patten is Paisley which is very old and it's a mix of Indian and British design and style and the paisley is a very old design on fabric both as a weaven and block printed which was used in the 70's along with the big bold block flower prints for men's shirts and the plain colour silk shirts. It just speaks John Travolta and his film Saturday Night Fever.
Hi = the Dynamite era was a tribute to MJ and 70's disco style, which is why they were dressed that way, they do carry the style well, I may say! I am a Jungkook(lead singer) and V (the guy in blue in the middle) biased, but love them all! BTS always sounds better LIVE! And they do not lip synch evah! And yes, this was shot during the pandemic - which is the reason for this tiny desk concert, they wanted to show support to their fans (Army), I think they also had 2 online concerts during that time. Regarding Spring Day, RM and Suga wrote it because a common friend of theirs passed away. The MV though had the hidden tribute to the Seowal ferry disaster because of the political and corruption aspects to the accident that lead to the death to many innocent victims. BTS Bangtan Sonyeodan (Bulletproof Boyscouts) mission is to provide music to inspire the youth and others with positivity and against hate, bullying, and negativity in society. Funfact: they really shot the video at a real record store, lol.
Their live performances are OTT at Asian Award Show's and of course at their massive Stadium concerts that's when you get to see and hear and see why they are the most Global Awarded Artist they were 3rd place until I think about 2 week ago now they are the Worlds most Awarded Artists of all time. If you think they only do one genre of music then you ain't heard anything yet btw
Everyone pretty much addressed everything. I’ll just add that this is a real record store in SK called Vinyl & Plastic. Very cool place from what I’ve seen online.
During the pandemic they mostly wore retro perhaps they wanted to reach out to more older fans, especially those in their 40s and above like their own parents, who were the most affected and vulnerable population around the globe during pandemic, not to mention their being isolated from their family and friends. During the pandemic their older fans doubled. Would believe that the recent diagram after pandemic show substantial increase from ages 25-49 and 50 and above nearing below: 18% for 50 and above 36% for ages 25 - 49 23% for ages 18-24 21% for 13 - 16 2% for kids of 6-12.
I thoroughly recommend checking out Save Me MV. It is an amazing one shot. Watching the shooting sketch as well makes you realise how good the camera man had to be too. There is a great live for this immediately followed by I'm Fine, a later follow up song with stunning choreo. Also recommend Festa Room Live 2021 which showcases their versatility.
This was in the ptd era every era they do they have a different look and style this just happens to be a 70s type vibe era yes spring day was though to be about that tragedy because the video was a dedicated to the victims but we learned in their book beyond the story that it was written by the members for a friend who used to be part of the band but left before they debuted but with what happened and how the song resonated with people who lost their children and loved ones they dedicated the music video could be a tribute to all the lost loved ones
70''s fashion, I think is to go with Dynamite, a disco 70's track. They didn't write this one. They recorded 3 English songs during the pandemic to cheer fans up. They are so eclectic, it is hard to believe. They are always better live.
RM and Suga wrote the lyrics of Spring Day about losing friends. Suga, specifically is taking about his childhood friend who became a drug addict and went to jail. He has another song about him called Dear My Best Friend. The MV is widely believe to be dedicated the the ferry tragedy.
RM did one but ERYKAH Badu was supposed to come and I felt it threw him off a little so instead I think uou would love RM INDIGO MAGAZINE DOCUMENTARY. Unit only get to hear RM but all of his collaborators it is completely facinating.
RM has also done tiny desk Korea Commenting as watching so may edit as you ask questions Their style here was because dynamite is a disco vibe that they wrote during the pandemic to cheer up people suffering from the lock down but their style varies as well as their genre Taylor Mari's guide will answer most of your questions so I won't write another lengthy post or at least not at this moment 😂 Bangtantv is BTS' channel where you will find all MV's as well as special content also make sure subs are on for content 2018 to current past video's starting from debut 2013 you can find English subs on Bangtan Subs So Spring Day best video to watch is 1 the MV explanation video and for many will recommend the Italian Army, but that is all reading subs that move from bottom to top back down all kinds of confusing things yes well was just going to say Rotten Mango that is the best but since you have seen it then watch Italian army as well since you know the story from Stephanie, Italian army will go into more about the tie in with BTS and Spring Day then Stephanie said
Speaking of your love for tiny desk performances, there's a next-level tiny desk performance (grander scale, but still perfectly intimate) that BTS did in June 2022 called "Proof’ Live". It was done outside in a desert-looking location and consists of 3 songs (one with Anderson Paak playing drums). It's AMAZING!!! Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/9sJ_I1lHpps/видео.html. Looking forward to your reaction! Make sure you have tissues nearby. lol
Just found you on YT. Already As a West Indian BTS Army Mom ( on a tiny Island in the Caribbean )since 2016. Appreciate the comments below explaining their fashion for this performance but…..would suggest. If you really like what you hear and are interested in their music? First thing I recommend to new fans/aka ‘Baby Army’….is to check out Marie Taylor’s version of ‘Guide To BTS’. Has become the ‘Bible’ telling who they are. How they came to join…( some by chance n fate)…before debuting on June 12th 2011. It is an epic story….showing that despite the millions of odds against them……they survived to now start out as the ‘Largest BoyBand’…..changed to ‘Largest GROUP’ in the World. Since the Beatles in the early 60’s. It also showed the beginning of BTS ARMY. And why ( todate ) we are the largest ( fandom) in the World 🌎 at 90 Million n growing . Surpassing Taylor’s Swifties or Beyoncé’s Bees. Army are a world wide family. And the charity projects done in BTS’s name - globally? Is unheard of. I believe this vid is 4 plus yrs ago. Anyhoo. Just…better to know their humble beginnings. And their journey ( from then to now) as to why/ how they sold out ( one of the largest Stadiums in the 🌎 aka London ( Wimbley where Taylor performed recently)…which seats 90,000 ……..SOLD OUT…..IN less than 1hr.30mins. Breaking another Guinness World Book record. While Army do not boast. We simply take pride ( experiencing BTS’ uphill battle in the past 10 plus yrs) that neither of the largest ‘Murican artists from Beyoncé to Taylor…can claim the same. Up to you whether you’d like to know more about them or their music. Gave my recommendation above. Meanwhile……living on a tiny Island. Hot as arse here 🤣………plus Hurricane Beryl just bypassed us yesterday. N like a Tornado…hit other Islands directly. Did massive damage. *shrug*….is the risk we take every year ( living in the Caribbean Islands) during hurricane season. Another is one it’s way. EDIT: Yea…..this was done during the height of ‘Lock Down’/ Covid when jussssst before. BTS were set to go on a World Tour. They found ways ( like above) to put content out when many of us ( GLOBALLY) were in the depths of despair. Alone. Many/Others Losing loved ones etc. when this dropped? Was 4am my time given the time difference and trust….BAWLED MY ARSE OFF…at my ripe ole age of 52 back then. This and many online concerts plus songs. May sound silly…..they seriously gave millions of us hope…love…encouragement…that ONE DAY. …. “We’ll All Get Through this Together”. nuff said 😊💜💜

BTS live sound BETTER then studio!!!! FACTS
Jimin mesmerized me in this! They were all so handsome and their chemistry was unmatched. Love them so much!
Same! He looked and sounded so good!! They all did but I couldn’t take my eyes off him!
It's Jimin 's affect 😅
Don't worry dear
Everyone loves him👍🏻🫰🏻☺️
The 70s styling here is almost certainly inspired by the opening song Dynamite. They frequently used retro styling when performing this.

2021 Festa Room Live is really good!
Yes! BTS Room Live Festa 2021 is a must. It's so good!
A lot of people have mentioned the festa room performance so I’m excited to check that out next!!
Dynamite was a 70s disco pop track put out to cheer everybody up and this was filmed during covid lockdown.
You won't see many KPOP groups doing Tiny Desk and Unplugged performances I feel because you have to sing live! RM and V has solo Tiny Desk performances also check those out too! 🙋🏽♀️🤗💜✌🏽🙏🏽
Chiming in on V and RM on Tiny Desk👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Save Me has a great music video that was all done in one shot. The behind the scenes making of Save Me is also a fun watch.
1 billion streams in Melon, Spring day u are the queen u are 💜

You have explained it so well! 👏🏻👏🏻💜
@@ampliada685 Thank you! 🫰🏻
Thanks so much for this explanation! I can always count on Army to know the facts, I appreciate that!
Love BTS, i always find in their music what i need to comfort me, they makes Me happy.
Spring Day is such an amazing dedication to those who lost their lives. As always I’m in tears. Love these amazing 7 gentle men

They also done a cover of Fix You by Coldplay that was lovely to!
Mis chicos suenan mucho mejor en vivo. Amo tus videos. Saludos desde argentina 🇦🇷💜🫰
I refer to Jimin as the 'Paisley Prince' on this one... his shirt is just beautiful... BTS always look classy but for this Tiny Desk they looked particularly smooth....

“Save me” was the song that made me ARMY!!
Love your reactions! Please react to "ZERO O'CloCK" LIVE!!!
Oh you should watck RM's tiny desk too💜💜 thank you for your wholesome reactions
I had the same reaction while watching this live version of Spring Day. It was so touching ❤
You definitely need to watch their cover of Coldplay's Fix You. It is so incredibly beautiful. You've got such a rabbit hole to go down. They also covered Puff Daddy's Missin You and their vocals are insane.
Lol, nevermind about Missing You. I finished watching and saw that you've watched it.

Just thr pick me up that i needed. Such a fun song
J Hope has such a soothing, low voice. He needs to sing more. Loved Spring Day .. such a beautiful, emotional song.
The 70’s theme is for disco 🕺 which is represented in Dynamite.
If you watch the explanation video for spring day, tissue might not be enough😅.

I think the 70's style was featured more with the Dynamite era. But if you explore more they tend to jump around with styles a lot.
Their live performances are OTT at Asian Award Show's and of course at their massive Stadium concerts that's when you get to see and hear and see why they are the most Global Awarded Artist they were 3rd place until I think about 2 week ago now they are the Worlds most Awarded Artists of all time. Bangtantv is BTS' channel where you will find all MV's as well as special content also make sure subs are on for content 2018 to current past video's starting from debut 2013 you can find English subs on Bangtan Subs
So Spring Day best video to watch is 1 the MV explanation video and for many will recommend the Italian Army, but that is all reading subs that move from bottom to top back down all kinds of confusing things yes well was just going to say Rotten Mango that is the best but since you have seen it then watch Italian army as well since you know the story from Stephanie, Italian army will go into more about the tie in with BTS and Spring Day then Stephanie said

Hopefully it by passes us….sorry to other Islands….MEANWHILE. I like you and your style. Look forward to you covering our boys/ now men’s content and watching your channel grow. If BTS is not your ‘ thang’? Understood. Like your true/ down n deep honest reaction.
Stay safe wherever you are 💜💜
EDIT: Yea…..this was done during the height of ‘Lock Down’/ Covid when jussssst before. …. “We’ll All Get Through this Together”. nuff said 😊💜💜
I don't know if you already react to BTS Room? It has the same vibe as the Tiny Desk performance...
You can react to RM's Tinny Desk, please
Pause, pause and pause! We don´t care!

What a shame without subtitles released, I can't know what you're saying, I'm from Brazil
My bad! I just figured out how to do the subs, I thought they showed up automatically so I’ll make sure they’re on future videos I edit!
They're not afraid to talk about politics and social issues either. 💜
