I know the way Drew presents is not for everyone, but I had a feeling I'd land on his side and none of this is shocking to me. Sawyer had an attitude problem his rookie year, and there's no reason to think that changed drastically. He had expectations of what his role *should* be and seems like he couldn't let go of that.
Drew would be better off relieving himself of the manager duties and just focus on doing what he does best: diving catches over the wall. He’s a great physical talent but he doesn’t have the personality to be a manager in MLW.
Since when did this become so serious? Back in the day you had them playing in the backyard having fun. Drew’s one of the only people that carries it to this day. You also can see that he knows what he’s talking about. He clearly has both of the mindsets needed today.

Drew isn’t wrong about Sawyer in his first season. He came off like a spoiled, arrogant brat and it was hard to root for the Cobras.
Drew explained himself and I’m glad he did because it makes more sense than Sawyer saying Drew had no confidence in him. Drew just doesn’t seem like that kind of teammate. Sawyer took it the way he did and that’s fine. They had just gone to the WS in ‘22. Who wouldn’t be grateful to play on a team that should’ve been a contender again? I think the trade will work out nice for both teams.
I’m a Dbacks fan but I like all the teams and Drew deserves a championship. He’s been one of the most charismatic players in the league for years.

Good good for Drew to explain his side of the previous podcast. There’s always two sides of the story and each individual’s perspective of the story, and it would be interesting to go back and watch certain games from this past season to see if we can come to our own conclusions. ‘24 is going to be fun!! Anywho Sawyer’s side is valid and I definitely feel the frustration but at the end of the day, numbers and deeper details and attitude don't lie, therefore Drew's side is the side I'm taking. The winner of this trade will definitely show out in the 2024 season and the fact theres THIS much drama before the season means it will be probably be the most NUTS season so far.

I tend to lean to Drew’s side on this based on the fact that he took a lot of accountability and Sawyer didn’t and made it very black and white that he was in the right and Drew was in the wrong. We will see what happens this season!

ok hearing the full story makes me change my opinions fully. Now Drew still does get questionable at times but Sawyer Behen is very cocky and after hearing Drew’s input Behen just sounded like a whiny baby who wanted more playing time because he was the “main star” he’s young and doesn’t understand the managerial side of the game but Drew still is a very questionable manager
What an NFC championship game that was. You guys had us. At halftime I had accepted the fact that the Niners were probably gonna lose and was prepared to root for the Lions in the SB. Even as a Niners fan I felt terrible for the Lions and all of their fans.
That being said, Let’s go 49ers!!! The Chiefs are a great team but it’s anybody’s game. Don’t count us out.

This whole saga is a perfect setup for the Cobras' WS run next season. Wasn't a fan of Davis before this, but now I really want to see him pull it out and get the title.

Biggest thing for me here is, did Behen know this math? If not, it is on Drew to communicate why he is making the decisions somewhat he is making to avoid misunderstandings. That is part of effective management. But overall, the arguments are sound. You can see he put a lot of thought into this.
I’m glad drew did this. Lots of respect for him. He definitely comes across as a silly guy and not as serious of a manger but he might be on to something if he hits this draft pick

I gotta keep it real, I do not like Drew. With that being said I do respect him and this interview helped me see a different side of him. The start of sawyers interview I screamed cap. Drew just confirmed it for me and I think it's better for both teams overall that this trade happened.
The only big problem I had with the trade was that Drew didn't get good value. If he had also gotten the best of like a 2026 pick swap with the Gators or something along those lines, I'd have been totally fine with the deal.

Drew doesnt deserve the hate. He did what he thought was right as manager. I wish the best for both squads but this upcoming year I feel like Gators should be able to at least contend for that last playoff spot with Sawyer. I’m losing my patience for the 2024 season!!!

I love drew
Not a drew fan but yeah, im on drews side and was even before this podcast. Sawyer is a punk. Hes a slightly above average player who thinks hes the greatest thing since sliced bread. He was a rookie and expected to be given a long leash like a seasoned pro. Between time on the mound and batting often second, he had some of the most play time on the cobras this last season. Some of the best players are pumped with energy but humble i.e. Kracht, Miller, Knorp, Robles. Swayer aint it

I love and support drew no matter what! He is my favorite player in the league he is hilarious and just the type of guy the league needs! Sawyer is good but to be honest he is overhyped! He had potential sure but drew is right he walks more guys than I have seen and he doesn’t look comfortable at the plate. Let drew manage his team the way he wants to and I promise you it will work out. But I will say I respect sayers grind and his want to be great and I hope he has a good mlw career.

I think Szerlag has been getting way too much shade. The year before last he was an All-Star caliber player and personally I thought he was the most consistent hitter in their lineup. He's a very good contact guy and good fielder and seems like a great teammate. After the trade for Chadwick the first thing I thought was what is this going to mean for Szerlag? The rest of the team is basically best friends and I thought he was going to get squeezed out. The league went to 4 batters which kept him in the lineup but I still think mentally it wasn't a great situation for him. Behen can be a great pitcher but I think he's a worse hitter by far and I think it is going to be interesting what happens if they start losing. So far he's shown he's not the best teammate at times. It's going to be very interesting

Sawyer is always behen a baby. Entitled kid. Drew definitely defended him because on more than one occasion I left a comment about not liking this kid and the way he was and Drew replied and said he’s just a kid and give him a chance to be better. He never changed but Drew was a defender

Q of the day: If cobras get a good 2 pitcher and Baron pitches good, who is missing the playoffs out of Cats, Cobras, Preds, Magic?
Preds cuz wildcard have the 1 pick and magic are the World Series winners and the cobras have the 2 pick and baron
If I had to answer it here’s what I’d look at. First of all the magic are very put together and have arguably the most complete roster. Second of all the Preds have so much chemistry and Kratch is Kratch. Third of all the Cobras kind gotta make it after the offseason or it will look very bad on Drew’s end. Leaves us to the Cats. If Shultz isn’t amazing there not gonna be amazing or even good. All in all I’m probably wrong but my takes the cats don’t.

I still think cobras because Kyle I believe has never missed the playoffs, magic obviously won’t with walgate and miller, and with kracht pitching like he did late in the season he’ll be able to carry them to the playoffs. I think it depends how good of a pitcher the cobras can find, if he can be the ace or not.

Baron was the CY Young winner last year, of course Drew didn't hand over the ace role to Sawyer. If he wants to be a #1 pitcher, I think it's just unreasonable. Baron had a better WHIP and same ERA (until the final and meaningless 15th game of the season, when his ERA got higher).
Drew is definitely a competitor. That is always obvious. Drew, don’t waste your breath and energy over that wimp.

I am on Drew's side in regards to all of this with Sawyer but Drew has quit on his team multiple times over the years.
Kinda sounds like Sawyer just doesn’t want to play for a manager and he thinks knows best. He should try and work his way up into managing his own team. I don’t see it working for him otherwise personally
I think Sawyer benefits from this trade. Drew seems like an attention-seeker, and Sawyer may be one as well, but Sawyer is confident. And I think the Cobras will downgrade, while the Gators get better.

Drew is an unrealiable narrator as my man is just stumbling over his points. He can cope with the fact he is oncr again being exposed as a bad skipper. He can't handle being the buttt of every joke with bis poor trades and in game decisions.
Drew if you are reading this. If Jack can reflect on his flaws and get better you can too. Jack has a ring right now when the Magic were 2 and 12 a season ago. You have yet to even get said ring. When will you get one Drew? Don't blame the talent when you can't manage a game to save your life.

My brother in Christ did you miss the part where they mentioned Drew is recovering from a literal concussion? Nobody is going to be at their most eloquent in that state. We get it, you've got an axe to grind with Drew, but that's a weaksauce attack if I've ever heard one.
Drew also backed up the stats and analytics behind his management decisions. Does every decision work out? No, that's the nature of being a manager.
And if you're going to compare the Magic to the Cobes, the Magic got a sweetheart draft and snagged two of the best wiffle ball players MLW has ever seen. Those two players were the undisputed cornerstone of their WS run. There is absolutely a gap in the talent level between those two squads, so if there's ANYTHING Drew actually needs to prove as a manager this off season, it's to prove that he knows how to draft and fill the gaps on his squad.

You guys are better than this. Either this is a pitched bit and fake drama (which would be pathetic) or it is real and you guys are pumping personal drama to drive traffic (which would be sad because you guys have a top shelf product that stands on its own merit). I think you’re making this a way bigger deal than it actually is. As you’ve seen with pipeitup’s last two videos stuff like this brings more views to the channel and MLW as a whole, as long as a little beef doesn’t turn into a huge conflict then I’m all for it.

While we did not anticipate him targeting Drew so directly, it felt unfair to pull the interview completely from the episode since this show allows the players to have a public voice! Hopefully you can understand that.

Hopefully there will be something to learn from this moving forward because this league has been a welcome dose of positivity for me the last few years, and I hate to see middle school style drama flinging mud on a shiny brand. This was rough watching Drew come up with excuses for everything he put Behen through. Behen is an absolute dawg who was clearly being held back by Drew. Time to hang up the managerial role my friend. The Cobras could be so much more with a caring and communicative manager with teammates.
