James your old neighbor here. Good insight, love the fish oil to lure it in and how you disguised the trap. A lot of people don’t do either. I hope your family is doing well. We are great and the kids miss you!

Hi James!! Thank you for the kind words brother! We miss seeing you guys down here and please tell the kids I said hello! David has send me a pick or two of your son (I won't type his name) in action. I believe they took a survival class a while back. I am glad to hear you guys are doing well.
As for the traps, I have learned a great deal with these this year. It has gotten more and more productive. The last two days I had them in the woods, I had animals in 3 of 4 traps both days. I am really surprised how effective these cages are in the woods. Since it has rained for the past 5 days straight down here, NO SNOW :( I don't have them set currently. Hopefully I will get one more good run in before the season ends.
      Take care my friend!

    Good stuff.
    A few of points.
Matt in all of your videos you respect nature and this is not directed at you but for general information.
Traps should be checked at a minimum every 24 hours. If that cannot be done please disable the trap.
In some states this is the law. It is possible to get into serious trouble.
It is possible that you trap a skunk. Not fun.
Cover the trap with a cloth or canvas bag ahead of time. One of those burlap coffee sacks works good.
Carry a tarp to shield the skunks view of you while approaching the trap to release it.
In the event the skunk is startled the tarp will take the brunt of the impact.
Carry a trash bag and extra clothing just in case. Dont want that smell in the truck.
    Good luck.

What is the point of trapping if your just going to catch and release

Practicing the skill and learning through trial and error. I have access to a relatively small property currently to trap on so I don't want to keep every animal as to not hurt the population in my area. People seem to prefer seeing the releases :)
