Beautiful. This is what this figure was meant to become. Nice to see the execution of what everyone was thinking when we first saw her!!!
Marvel is a rip off.
I'm pretty everyone saw power princess and wanted to turn her into a wonder woman figure lol. I wanted to make a video to help out others who also wanted to do this repaint.
This came out so good!! Totally agree that Marvel made the best Wonder Woman figure ever!
Thank you so much! Yeah marvel did a great job on the sculpt on this one
I’m glad I’m not they only one who thought this fig looked pretty close to Wonder Woman. So thanks for confirming to me, that I’m not insane for thinking that.
100% yeah when I first saw this, I had to male it lol
Considering she's from Squadron Supreme (Marvel's ersatz Justice League) I'm not surprised how much she resembles Diana.
Lol, it's difficult to find anyone who saw her and didn't think about Wonder Woman
Excellent custom man, you did a amazing job! It's funny that Hasbro just causally made such an excellent Wonder Woman figure without realizing it.
Thank you! I'm sure whoever sculpted it knew what they were doing lol. It's an awesome figure
@@BenzoFigures You may be right. This character design is far too similar to Wonder Woman to be a coincidence.
I'd love to see more content like this! Beautiful figure and I own one myself. I'd love to paint mine as well but afraid I might ruin it!😂 If I find another in the wild I'll maybe try..Thanks for sharing!
I definitely understand. Painting this seems pretty intimidating but it surprisingly wasn't too bad to paint. Even when I messed up, it was pretty easy to clean up. Let me know if you have any questions when you do repaint it
Great video! I have only done kitbashes, so getting a succinct and clear video about customizing the paint job for a figure is very helpful 😀👏👏👏
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
This was awesome! You've inspired me to go down this rabbit hole of customization. Great work!
That's awesome! Let me know if you have any questions along your customizing journey.
Awesome custom, man.
Might do this myself.
I appreciate it! Let me know how the repaint goes!
@@BenzoFigures I'm gonna get two of these figures. Gonna be a while yet though.
Love the before and after!!! Also editing on point!
Eyyyyy thank you
It's like someone working on Marvel Legends saw that there were no affordable 6 inch scale Wonder Woman figures, and was secretly also a DC fan too, so he made a figure that could easily be made into a 6 inch scale Wonder Woman.
Yeah some figures definitely get more love than others lol. Whoever sculpted this power princess, definitely was cooking
Fantastic. Well done.
I have Power Princess in my BBTS Pile of Loot waiting for me to ship. I also got her to be Wonder Woman. I have the new McFarlane one, and it’s fantastic aside from the super gigantic scale. I was absolutely excited to get her, but I display Knightfall Batman and a kit-bashes Hush/Atomic Skull 2-pack Superman, who are true 7-inch figures so she towers over them.
“Justice by snu-snu!!”
I’m going to do some kitbashing and customizing as needed to make Power Princess into a very believable Wonder Woman.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I made the video to try and help and show people that repainting this isn't too bad. I figure most people bought power princess to make a 1/12 wonder woman. This repaint scales great with my older dc collectibles like the Greg capullo batman wave.
You need to put some primer, brother. The plastic is smooth. Also, in Marvel legends, you need to figure out which parts are having some paint chipping. Therefore, you need to sand it then primer it, then paint.
Yeah I use the vallejo black primer a lot. I'll definitely try sanding down the plastic before priming it next time. What grit sandpaper do you suggest?
Use a gray or white primer. It depends on what color you are going to use. For example, If you want the color RED to POP ( bright ), you need white primer. With that, you don't need 3 coats of paint to see the red you need.
I mean you need a thin coat of paint then the color you want should POP immediately. When the paint is thick, it can chip easily.
Any grit is okay. But 200 and 400 is what I suggest.@@BenzoFigures
I saw a vid recently on this figure and from the look I thought it was the version of wonder woman seen in one of the animated justice league movies until I realized. Still, thought she would be a great wonder woman figure and here you are proving my point 😂 nice work dude 👍
I appreciate it! Thank you
Knew it wouldn't be long before customizers got a hold of this figure this was coming. Great Job!
I appreciate it! Yeah it wasn't too too bad to make too
Awesome vid as new customizer it always helps to see different techniques and learn some basic tips. Thank you 🤙🏾🍻
Glad you enjoyed the video! Let me know if you have any questions about customizing. I'm still figuring things out too
New sub, always love a custom repaint.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
Absolutely incredible work!
Eyyyy thanks bruv
Looks great! I really miss Testors Acrylics paint. Those were the best and I don't think you would have had the paint rub that you had with Testors. I might give her the same paint job as yours.
Awww man, yeah I heard of testors. I started customizing stuff way after they discontinued. I missed out. Let me know how your repaint goes
@@BenzoFigures I'm still searching for a worthy replacement. I pretty much stopped customizing because of it. I haven't been to thrilled with Vallejo but it seem like the brand a lot of people are using now. I used it more like touch ups but I'll try it the way you did with very thin coats and with a lot of drying time and see how that goes. Luckily, I do have lots of left over Testors. 😁
@somarriba333 that's awesome! Definitely let me know if u do find a good alternative. I have both vallejo and citadel, and I prefer vallejo over that but it still has its problems
@@BenzoFigures I haven't tried Citadel. For basic customs like painting sets and non action figure items, I have used the cheap Michaels and Walmart paints. They seem fine for stuff like that.
Wonder Woman!! Awesome video and repaint bro! Keep going, woot!
Eyyyy yeah wonder woman is cool af
Power princess makes a great Princess of Power as well.... ironically lol
That's a great idea!
Looks fantastic!
Eyyyy thank you! Means a lot!
Looks good. Next time consider sanding down all points of contact to avoid rub. No sense in doing all that work if the paint is going to chip right off.
Youre absolutely right! I didn't need to do any sanding on the joints since there's no paint. I can probably sand down the torso, I just don't know how much to trim off and I haven't found a good tutorial on it yet. When I figure it out, I might make a tutorial or something 🤔
I did exactly the same thing to my repaint. Scraping the abdomen. I use a little to dark blue. But satisfied with my result.
That's awesome to hear! Glad it worked out
Hasbro made the best wonder woman! Lol will definitely have to try this, nice custom!
Thank you! Let me know how it goes
Might as well say it 🤣😂
That looks great
Thank you so much!
This was my plan the moment I saw Power Princess.
Yeah, lots of people had the same idea lol. Let me know how it turns out when u do repaint it
@@BenzoFigures Will do. If it ever ships of course.
Wow, great job!!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Mcfarlane Wonder Woman clears the power princess. But great job on the custom
Thanks I appreciate it! I have that new wonder woman from mcfarlane. Definitely the best one mcfarlane has made so far. Excited for starfire and blackfire
This very awesome work!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it
I Like It !
Always More How-To Videos ;)
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you
I love this!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
Subbed! Great work!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it !
Shup up and take my money!!! 🍸😎
Lol glad you enjoyed
Wow. Very nice.
Thank you!
All I have to say is bravo bravo BRAVO😊
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
@@BenzoFigures this is the size and look Wonder Woman should have
NICE!
Thank you!
Very nice.
Thank you so much
Great job I was thinking about doing the same thing you just inspired me thanks❤❤❤
Thank you! Yeah it was pretty simple to do. Let me know how yours turns out
@@BenzoFigures will do
Definitely a hot action figure and should be Wonder Woman ❤
Yeah it's definitely an awesome figure
White stars on trunks and Red star on tiara and it would be the best one ever!
It totally would! I don't believe in my painting abilities to make tiny stars yet. Skill issue lol
Great vid
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
Good job
Thank you!
I’m just trying figure out a solution to put stars on the lower section on my custom, Wonder Woman without stars feels empty. Gonna need 2-3mm sized stars for the front and a few 3-5mm stars for the back.
I think some people use water decals for that. I'm not sure how that works tho
That's an awesome job. But since I have the newer wonder woman, I was wondering if there is a way to turn power princess into crime syndicate superwoman.....but power princess' colors are very close, so I'm going to see how well she displays with owlman.....I wish I could send my dark knight returns supes to change the head painting a bit to the way injustice cartoon supes is
Definitely can turn this into super woman. There's a super woman figure that mcfarlane made a little while ago that looks great too.
Needs her white stars on the pants, they're important!
I know. I gotta look into water decals. I don't trust my painting skills enough to paint tiny stars lol. Skill issue
So do u not sand down the joints of the figures to avoid paint rub?
So for this, I didn't sand down the joints because I didn't apply paint unto the joints like elbows or shoulders. I typically do tho. I probably should've trimmed the inner torso, but Idk how much i showed sand that down. I haven't seen a good tutorial on that yet
She needs ab crunch hasbro did us dirty
I know! That deluxe black widow base with the abs crunch should be the standard, and not a deluxe feature
Nice custom. But i think you miss a star on her head
Thanks! Yeah I gotta look into water decals for precision. I might update in the future
Low key a hard skill to master! Do a custom figs showcase!
Definitely considering. Or at least make shorts on some lesser known character customs
@@BenzoFigures yuh that would be hype! Can u make a invincible custom
@timbo-slice4321 love that show! The question is, do I use a speedball for the head sculpt or just 3d print an invincible head 🤔
@@BenzoFigures you stream, right? If so I gotta catch one. Bruh I would love a invincible custom lol 😂
Do a Superman out of a marvel legends figure
I'm still cooking that one up lol
Would airbrushing have better results?
Probably? I'm not sure. It would probably make it easier and quicker to paint. But the results might be the same tbh. I did get an airbrush in. I just need a few more things and I'll start learning air brushing soon.
No idea who Power Princess is lol. Kinda looks like Donna Troy lol. But awesome repaint brotha man.
Oh snap! I see it now! 😮
How does yours look better than the original
Lol I appreciate it
I like your Godzilla cup
Good eye lol. Godzilla is awesome
@@BenzoFigures he is! 😃
What is the use of the primer for? How does it benefit customs( I’m trying to decide whether I should I use it or not)
He tells you at 2:36 basically primer helps paint stick onto the figure better. But you don't have to if you wash the figure with warm soapy water, scrub with tooth brush, also if you don't want paint rub, you gotta prep/sand the joints 😢 it takes couple hours... Unless you're pro.
So when applying paint onto plastic, it can be a little rough since sometimes paint doesn't stick onto the plastic too too well. You can still paint without primer, but it'll take multiple coats to smooth it out. Using a primer first helps the paint stick onto the plastic. You will still need to use multiple coats, but the painting process will be a lot more smoother. I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any more questions
@@BenzoFigures thanks!
What sealer did you use?
I used a Mr Spray matte sealer. It's typically cheaper at hobby lobby. Hope this helps
This looks great! The latest McFarlane Wonder Woman is awesome...check it out if you haven't seen it.
I do have it! I was gonna review it but it looks so nice in the box
What's the primer for?
So applying primer helps the paint stick onto the plastic easier. You can paint without primer, but it typically requires more layers of paint and won't come out as smooth. Hope this helps
@@BenzoFigures thanks. I never applied primer before.
Anyone elses power princess have gummyass arms😢
Yeah my figure also has gummy limbs, unfortunately
Great job, but why mix the lines?, articulation isn't the same.
Thank you! I did this repaint because power princess scales better with my dc collectibles line. A lot of the mcfarlanes tower over most of the old DC line
It's easy for Marvel to make the best Wonder Woman when McFarlane figures suck so much.
Marvel was cooking while making this. It's like other figure budgets went into this lol
Power Princess is such a huge improvement in the female action figures for Marvel Legends. I have the Mezco Wonder Woman, and Power Princess puts that figure (a premium figure) to shame. None of the premium figure companies (Mafex, Mezco, or Revoltech) have made a wonder woman in the 1/12 scale that is better than the Marvel Legends Power Princess. I'm not some super Marvel Legends fanboy either because I have talked my fair share of ish about how trash the Marvel Legends female figures have been. My only hope is that the Hasbro Marvel Legends team doesn't go back to giving us those super skinny, poor articulation, no accessories having, hard to pose figures. The GI JOE retro Scarlet and Power Princess figures seem to indicate that Hasbro has listened to the toy collector community when the demand for better figures was made.
100% yeah this custom fits better with my mafex nightwing and batman. Hasbro is also making female faces good now too. About time lol
@BenzoFigures I'm glad I came across your video. I was very disappointed in that Mezco Wonder Woman after getting Power Princess. You gave simple instructions and provided viewers with all the materials they will need. Now I just need to hunt down another Power Princess figure 🤣
I don't follow DC figure content, but are they that bad? Or is this figure just that good to be deemed the better WW figure? Lol
Dc figures aren't bad. It's all about preference really. Most dc figures tend to be a little taller than 1/12th scale. They usually also have less articulation too. I still like and have a bunch of dc collectibles
It looks good but definitely not the best Wondy , that title belongs to DC direct terry Dodson's WW, hands down
@AntAciieed yooooo that's a great one. I used to have that one a while back too. I regret giving that away T_T
Dejen de acaparar la figura, si quieren una WW compren una de DC y ya, por su culpa sube el precio de esa figura y se escasea para los coleccionistas de Marvel.
The figure is still really easy to obtain. It's still retail price currently on mostly all online retailers like bbts, Amazon, ee, etc
Why tho? The original is awesome.
Just a fun little project. I have a spare unpainted power princess too
@@BenzoFigures 😅
Mcfarlane made the best wonder woman figure. ML fans are in denial but trust me. His is far more better quality.
The articulation is superior right down to the waxy plastic they used for her skin. It gives life to her flesh tones instead of the pasty white like this ML figure acquires. You can see that her knees are allso painted with a blush to show the difference in skin tone. Her iconic star studded panties are of a very soft flexable material so that she can bend in to agile and flexable positions. She's bult like a dump truck in the back with a intentional sculpted big bottom and has a nice rack up front. I mean she's got the assests man. The metalic paints on her corset adds a nice touch and difrenciates the meterial between that and her textured red and white boots. Finally the head sculpt is Amazing. Her hair looks comic accurate and her face is absolutely beautiful. Like she's actually beautiful and looks close snd comparable to Lynda Carter. ML power princess has a harsh looking beastly mug that i think is more suitable for a she hulk figure.
The new mcfarlane one does look really nice. I still have it in the box. I don't want to take it out yet just cuz the presentation looks super nice. But I'm glad that I'm hearing his new one is really good
The problem is Vallejo paint is terrible it's only good with an airbrush and that's not all the time.
What paint would you suggest? I haven't had much luck with citadel. I don't really like their bottles
@@BenzoFigures The paints I use is Tamiya paints. I use Vallejo for curtain things
