SHOCKWAVE was my favorite Arrow Mega Looper. Not just as a ride, but also architectually. It's famous banked drop over the park entrance and it's cool blue track with white supports along with the best looking yellow train to accompany the blue track. Six Flags Great America should of kept it, for it was RON TOOMER'S BEST MEGA LOOPER!!!!!
I did too! My grandparents were huge roller coaster fanatics and they brought this home for me to watch and I swear I watched it hundreds of times as a kid. There were two tapes and I think they were called "World's Greatest Roller Coasters in 3D" and "America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills in 3D".
This is hardly an interview because it’s so short, but I used to borrow this video for the library all the time, that was probably about 15 years ago when I was pretty much just getting in to coasters, before I had much of a stomach for them. Now I'm a diehard enthusiast and will ride anything...if it’s good enough, I can’t be bothered with those kiddy coasters. ;p
RIP Mr. Toomer! Magnum is still my favorite coaster!
Finally get to ride it next week! I've been yearning to since I was a little kid, when I used to watch this VHS obsessively.
