I'd repower it with one of my Aprilia Tuono 1000cc track bikes either the '04 Rotax 140hp V-twin or '14 170hp V4,. Tuono means Thunder so it'll be a THUNDER COX.
What a weapon! Be the first to see the SuperYamacox450 in action - The most epic video we've ever done launches Thursday (tomorrow) 6AM AEDT - ruclips.net/video/tlMT1-h-1jg/видео.html hit the bell to be notified as soon as it's live!
I think an interesting choice would be a 1300cc VW air-cooled flat 4. The drive may be a pain to work out but simple install of the engine with no radiator and real easy wiring. Plus how cool would a couple of Webber's hanging out each side look.
I was thinking use the transaxle and rear mount as factory did it for a bit of 911 tail happiness.Shortened drive shafts or bolt the wheels to the outputs.
Surely you could get an old Subaru motor to fit in there, we all know you love them. It's low, and probably narrow enough if you put it in sideways, just mig a sprocket to the flywheel and run a chain to a motorbike gearbox with the clutch, bobs ya uncle
Team Boosted have also been building a '7b' (half a 13b essentially) 1 rotor the past two years, though it's been a while since we saw an update. It was plenty to propel a 356 Speedster kit car though, so should be AMPLE power for a mower too :D
Cr500!!! Small engine, big power - Imagine the cox with a 500cc 2 stroke! Aka 500 Cox haha Great watch boys, I'll be waiting for the next. Thanks Supercheapauto!
Hi Al and Woody, what you need for the old Cox is one of Allen Millyard's 4cyl Kawaski S1 motors. That would defiantly be the show stopper. Dreams are free eh haha. Cheers from NZ, Phil.
I think an old school Sachs KM48 single rotor would be cool and have enough power for a bit of fun. They're pretty unique and can't say I've ever seen a rotary powered ride on mower before
ive always thought it would be a sick idea to put a 12a or 13b in a ride on small compact and i personally think it would be totally different and sick love ya boys keep up the fantastic work
Im an old school 80s kid. If i could find it, id got a 350cc banshee motor. Because 2strokes rule and it was last bike i owned. 🤘👊 love the content boyz 👌
Keep the current power plant, but couple an electric motor to the idler shaft as a 'power adder'. Bonus points for working out the maximum rate the idler would spin at max speed and getting the gearing right. Easy 'roll start' function if the starter kicks out too :)
I quite like the engine you've fitted - but I would add a small turbo (TD03 or smaller) for wooshy noises + Haltech engine management like an elite 550
Work had a Honda rototiller made sometime in the 1990's. Thing was a beast. If it hit something it couldn't get through, it would just launch. Always started on the second pull. Even after sitting all winter. Everything is all lined up for it too.
Ducati testrastretta 1198cc engine from a Diavel or multistrada. Some of the amazing reasons to do so would be the engine note once you build an exhaust that works, a great heads up display to use as a dashboard for that bad boy, even give you some lap timing, taking it to a Ducati dealer for a service on the desk cables would probably be the funniest thing in the planet to get their reaction. The engine was built to be torquey as hell and who doesn't want over 150hp to the wheels on a lawnmower.
Love the 450 conversion in the Cox, I reckon the Yamaha Raptor 700R motor would be a weapon in the Cox. Compact, big horse power with efi and electric start. Man would that be a ride to remember. 🦾🦾🦾
Yamaha TRX850 parallel twin, 270deg firing for extra traction and sweet twin burble. Nearly twice the capacity in a slim twin engine to fit under the hood. You know you want to 😉👍
What you have done is right, run what you have that is good. Though there was a Japanese bike made in the sixties that was called the Dream, I’d use it’s motor just so you could call it the “Dream Cox”!
Weber (Textron) 750 Turbo MPE! Compact engine designed for multiple applications. Found in Snowmobiles (Polaris Dragon IQ), a number of PWC, and some other applications. Good german design. Stock power out of a 750 HO of 120HP. Good tuners/kits were putting out 200HP, and at least one mad-man in Utah put out a 880cc kit that put out 350HP.
When i met you guys and came into the factory for a lemon squash i was suprised at just how big this lawn mower was! I would put exactly the same engine in!
What a beauty. I reckon a 3-cylinder, 2-stroke engine out of a Saab 9-6 from the 60s would zing this thing around the pasture pretty good - look up some video and check out how good they sound!
2 cylinder 360cc engine from an old Honda Life. My father in law said he worked on lawnmowers that had more power than my wife’s car! It’s time the engine went in one. ❤
Used to make shit like this 35 years ago. Best motor for fun HONDA CB550 supersport with a bit of work. Scary speed, never got it past 3rd gear! Scared the poop out of you, vision went blurry and could NOT see! Spend most of your time sideways when on dirt! So much fun.....ahh it was good to be young! Great video guys.
There is only one logical choice for an engine swap into the red cox ... the 6-cylinder from the Honda CBX1000. Not only will you likely have the quickest lawn mower in OZ, but you will definitely have the sweetest sounding! Just do it. 👍
AMR300 Supercharged 670cc Honda V Twin. Horizontal shaft to increase clutch options. Quad bike rear diff so a tail shaft can be used instead of belt drive.
The Super Cox is now the Super Dooper Cox, gonna be a ripper. Fun build to follow for sure. When this project first started having drive transfer troubles, my thoughts were to use an 80's YZ shaftdrive three wheeler as the donor drivetrain. I had a 50cc version way back when but they had 350's and I believe 450's too. Not sure how well it would do because of the preset length but since we're just dreaming anyway lol.
Having access to spares, I'd probably try to shoehorn a CanAm Ryker motor and CVT into it. Packaging and shaft drive output with reverse would be a banger bonus
Hello, ones we buyed a racingmower with a Kawasaki ninja 600cc, 4 cilinder with 4 carbureteurs..its screams when you rev it throu the gears👍, it was great but also dangerous! Whe use a axle from a go cart, they are verry strong and you can use the footpedal for the brake, nice work you both doing! Greats from Holland..
Guys being a former WR 450F owner i think your on the money, HOWEVER. Having also done this, a GSX1100 would be oh so sweet. And just think of the tyre shredding turboing potential..... Please do this next time.. Keep up the awesome content
Engine choice is easy! Use what you have laying around, It's a mower not a top fueller. Make it look and sound cool, go have fun. Job done. For me that would be an old mtd mower, Chinese Lifan 250cc 4stroke 6 speed. And as a fitter machinist, get some taper locks, servicing trackside with welded shaft components will really impede on your pit stop times!
I think a Yamaha Banshee engine would be a great conversion. It would fit and it just has all that two stroke goodness to go with it. The sound, the smell and just imagine the look with a nice big expansion chamber out each side!
Turbo’d mt-07 engine in the cox! Plenty of wrecked ones about and there is an Aussie company that makes a turbo kit for them. Plus they sound sick with the right exhaust.
Big old air cooled 2T motor from the 70s. Like an IT490. It’d be off it’s chops and I reckon most of the competition would laugh hearing a 2 stroke before they see it blow them out of the water. Plus it’d still be the “Super Yamma Cox”
Awesome little project, they are great motors in those wr450f’s. I want to build myself one! Twin cylinder 500ccc 2 stroke rotax engine they use in ultralight aircraft could be cool.
Looks like fun. I would've tried putting either a modern Kawasaki ER6 paralleltwin engine, or an older Suzuki sv650 engine(twin). good size and the sound is so amazing.
Re-power the SuperCox with a 1699cc upright twin from a Triumph Thunderbird motorbike. 270 degree firing angle for an excellent sound, and torque for days. Smooth 6 speed box for extra close ratio awesomeness.
I always wanted to try a Kawasaki ninja 250 engine in a mower build as they are a simple 2 cylinder motor, carby, basic wiring and ecu. Can’t wait to see the Cox in the commercial
I'd give it an electric motor, plenty of torque, batteries up the front, and electric motor and chain driven, bloody brilliant video MEN, can't wait to see the Super Cox and MCM's Midget in the SUPERCHEAP ad
I think that a Moto Guzzi 500cc woudl fit nicely in there. It eliminates the need for all the chains and sprockets, but you would need some kind of rear diff to adapt the drive shaft to the rear wheels. Also it's air cooled so less parts to mount and it will sound nice with two straight pipes on the sides. Maybe lean the idle mixture a bit for some pops on decel
The one I think would work is the guts of a Raptor 700R. They're not cheap but there are mad little turbo kits you can get for them. The one I'd want to work is a carby Mazda 12A mated to a snow mobile CVT but it'd be pushing the package space more than a little.
A 350 2 stroke would be mint in the supercox, it'll make the good kind of smoke. The power band, the sound👌 and no oil pressure problems 😉 Perfect swap for the Yama
2015 KTM 500 exc engine swapped mower if I had the skills to! Love your content Skid Factory, also thanks for the 2JZ Kevin shirt! I love it 👍🍻 keep the lemon squashes flowing and the great content 👌
Ive got an old cox 12hp from the 80's/90's its cactus, always thought of trying do a KLR650 in it. wads of power but also that tractor bike life. I swear those things can climb everest. should get around to it some day, used to pull some great wheelies as a kid with it. maybe thats why its cactus lol
Something I think that would be cool would be a small 1200 engine from an early 2000s sportster. With a chain conversion. Making it only need 5 gears as well. Plenty of torque and more than enough power
I would of used a klr650, they are great motors with a longer stroke and have oodles of torque! We used them in our edge products sidewinder buggies! Electric start and they don’t need to rev to the moon to get it to go fast! I think what you guys have done is great also. Klr650 motors aren’t cheap and ur donor bike was perfect for this
👍🤘 like others saying 2stroke. Got a 06 yz250 here. Been bored sleeved jetted power piped. Loves too sit on power ban all day. Let's you know your alive.
SET A REMINDER TO WATCH THE NEW COMMERCIAL TOMORROW!
ruclips.net/video/tlMT1-h-1jg/видео.html
Just subbed to Supercheap & set reminder - can't wait to hear someone scream FOUR!!!!
Electric motor from something like a washing machine unit or something.
I'd repower it with one of my Aprilia Tuono 1000cc track bikes either the '04 Rotax 140hp V-twin or '14 170hp V4,. Tuono means Thunder so it'll be a THUNDER COX.
Looks like woody is holding on for deer life.
please guys .. never stop using the squeaky hammer sound effect .. cracks me up every time
Even better if they added it to the air chisel but flat out 🤣
@@fishyracing haha I actually did add it to the air chisel but it sounded way to weird
@@theskidfactory like a goat getting.. well you know what.. 😏
@@theskidfactory I think the clicking walk noise at traffic lights would best suit the air chisel.
genius audio editing with the squeaky hammer. I LOLed every time.
Sharp editing here fellas, squeaky hammer silliness for more laughs and a great project that exactly suits your talents. Love it.❤
What a weapon! Be the first to see the SuperYamacox450 in action - The most epic video we've ever done launches Thursday (tomorrow) 6AM AEDT - ruclips.net/video/tlMT1-h-1jg/видео.html hit the bell to be notified as soon as it's live!
Subbed n set reminder, can't wait FOUR!!!!!
I have messaged your Facebook page. 😊
That look on woody's face...
These short form vids are sick guys, real good stuff to mix in between longer projects
Surely you could get an old Subaru motor to fit in there, we all know you love them. It's low, and probably narrow enough if you put it in sideways, just mig a sprocket to the flywheel and run a chain to a motorbike gearbox with the clutch, bobs ya uncle
Tiny single rotary, don’t make heaps of torque but light and revvy enough to have some fun!
Go watch Build, Break, Repeat. They use a lot of rotary engines for small karts and bikes.
Been done here in NZ years ago.a cut down single was made from. A 13b
My first thought too
Kkm 502? Single rota by nsu? Massive bridge port!!
Team Boosted have also been building a '7b' (half a 13b essentially) 1 rotor the past two years, though it's been a while since we saw an update.
It was plenty to propel a 356 Speedster kit car though, so should be AMPLE power for a mower too :D
That’s was so rad, getting all the behind the scenes action. And you two in your 40’s, bloody Wiki!
Cr500!!! Small engine, big power - Imagine the cox with a 500cc 2 stroke! Aka 500 Cox haha Great watch boys, I'll be waiting for the next. Thanks Supercheapauto!
MID 90’s 88 cube 1340cc Evo Harley motor BOX IS ALREADY BELT DRIVE……. What a sound lol👌
That dyke-clamp trick was sweet and I'll definitely be using it the next time a phillips-head screw or bolt won't cooperate. Thanks!
Hi Al and Woody, what you need for the old Cox is one of Allen Millyard's 4cyl Kawaski S1 motors. That would defiantly be the show stopper.
Dreams are free eh haha. Cheers from NZ, Phil.
I'm sure Allen would lend the boys that Viper motor he squeezed into a bike....
I think an old school Sachs KM48 single rotor would be cool and have enough power for a bit of fun. They're pretty unique and can't say I've ever seen a rotary powered ride on mower before
Oh we thought about the same engine, cool 😁👍 I didn't knew the model number, thanks for the info
I would put a Ducati V4 oh they sound so sweet and plenty of power and torque. Great work boys.
Awesome build ,love it!!!!!!!
ive always thought it would be a sick idea to put a 12a or 13b in a ride on small compact and i personally think it would be totally different and sick love ya boys keep up the fantastic work
Grind hard plumbing did that
Suzuki DRZ 400 donor. An engine from one piece of farm equipment to another- Love the show fellas, great job.
Datsun L series. The only engine stubborn enough to never die and outlive the Cox!
Never die? You tell that to the ring in my L20et r30 😄
Yz250 would be perfect. Imagine the sound and smell of that 2 stroke coming onto band as you hit the straight. Doesn't get much better than that!

350cc Yamaha Banshee would be wild.
Love the show lads, keep on keeping on
Ducati testrastretta 1198cc engine from a Diavel or multistrada. The engine was built to be torquey as hell and who doesn't want over 150hp to the wheels on a lawnmower.
RGV250 for that sweet two stroke noises , expansion chambers , blue smoke … bliss
Or a Honda CR500 motor … same reasons
Loved the ad! You guys are genuine legends...
Just gotta say I30N ftw!! Al and Woodregeous, you guys need to wind one up for content..! 😁😁
Triumph 955 mainly because of the sound of it revving is awesome and you make amazing exhausts and i can just imagine what it would sound like
Love the 450 conversion in the Cox, I reckon the Yamaha Raptor 700R motor would be a weapon in the Cox.
You know you want to 😉👍
Love the WR twist....!
What you have done is right, run what you have that is good.

Love the dirtbike theme, I think a repower with a Suzuki RMZ500 (Travis P special) engine would be the bomb. Love that 2T "Ting-ting".
Went hard, yer it will fly. Thanks
998cc mini a series engine. Lots of fun in something even lighter than a mini.
For sure would put 10a rotary in it with nasty Bridgeport screaming away... Well done guys looks mint
Cool as, boys! The Crown is fixed too! Ooh, the Crown! It gets me excited 🤣 PS Woody... you'll need reading glasses soon too... trust me mate!!
A 350 RZ/BANSHEE two stroke, the Cox2Banger. The thing would wheel stand and sound insane.
Vfr400 Honda, the V Fours sound insane and rev to the moon!
I think something like a Suzuki rgv250 engine would be sick, big revs, sounds amazing and 2 stroke!
SFV400 Gladius......because power and....awesome
That bloody hammer has me in stitches every time 🤣🤣😎😎🇦🇺🇦🇺🤘🤘
2 cylinder 360cc engine from an old Honda Life. My father in law said he worked on lawnmowers that had more power than my wife’s car! It’s time the engine went in one. ❤

Nice triple out of a triumph street tripple or yamaha mt09. The sound of the triple is so good and linear power is so good
Awesome stuff guys, good seeing Woody in front of the camera !!
There is only one logical choice for an engine swap into the red cox ... the 6-cylinder from the Honda CBX1000. Not only will you likely have the quickest lawn mower in OZ, but you will definitely have the sweetest sounding! Just do it. 👍
The sound of the oil pressure test is the best
AMR300 Supercharged 670cc Honda V Twin. Horizontal shaft to increase clutch options. Quad bike rear diff so a tail shaft can be used instead of belt drive.

Rotax 1630 ACE - 300 engine. From a seadoo RXT-X RS 300. Big power, compact set up. Easy to add even more power.
Kawasaki Z1300 6 cylinder engine with one of Alan’s masterful exhausts to make it sound amazing!
Kawasaki 250cc in-line 4, get the mower sounding like a mini f1 haha. Love the show guys
Probably the most insane thing you have built yet! 🤣😎
Was good to see Woody having a go on the tig! 👍🏼
Ariel atom supercharged 4cyl. Light and heaps of power!
I would go old, old, old school, and put a Gen 1 Chrysler Firepower HEMI in your mower! Specifically, a 1958 392ci with dual 4bbl carbs of course!
Definitely a 350 twin banshee motor 👌
Guys being a former WR 450F owner i think your on the money, HOWEVER. Having also done this, a GSX1100 would be oh so sweet. And just think of the tyre shredding turboing potential..... Please do this next time.. Keep up the awesome content
Hey crazy fun as always, I'd like to see a Suzuki Rm 250 in it. Hitting the powerband would be epic
Engine choice is easy! Use what you have laying around, It's a mower not a top fueller.
Make it look and sound cool, go have fun. Job done.
For me that would be an old mtd mower, Chinese Lifan 250cc 4stroke 6 speed.

So cool to see this back in action. If it was my project I’d try to put a Rotax 125 Max go kart engine in it
I would swap in a sachs rotary because they’re rare, unique, and cool sounding.
Direct injection dirty "plug".
Strip and clean means so so much!!!
12A Bridgeport Rotary with a down draft Weber. It's practically a 2 Stroke so surely ideal for a mower? Plus can't beat em for smiles per gallon 👌
2008 FE650 Husaberg engine, monster torque, revs to the moon, pulls like a train all day
tiny compound turbo kubota.. rollin coal on a ride on mower would be very cool. love your work boys.
Awesome little project, they are great motors in those wr450f’s. I want to build myself one!
Twin cylinder 500ccc 2 stroke rotax engine they use in ultralight aircraft could be cool.
Great entertainment as always guys!
I reckon a Yamaha 350 banshee would fun in a mower💪
15:00 damn that was a spark plug off of the Titanic!
Woody's laugh 👌😁
I'd power it with a HD sporty 883 engine for that lumpy grumble fun. Love the swap and video guys 😁
Looks like fun. I would've tried putting either a modern Kawasaki ER6 paralleltwin engine, or an older Suzuki sv650 engine(twin). good size and the sound is so amazing.
Good job!

Repowered with a triumph T160 triple, just because👌🏻
Best show on TV...
A 350 2 stroke would be mint in the supercox, it'll make the good kind of smoke. The power band, the sound👌 and no oil pressure problems 😉 Perfect swap for the Yama
Got an old fj1100 in the shed that would be awesome in that mower!!!!!
Hey boys, great vidz as usual! Chuck a KTM 950 motor into it, V twin would sound mean! Looks like you have just enough room in the "engine bay" too.
2015 KTM 500 exc engine swapped mower if I had the skills to! Love your content Skid Factory, also thanks for the 2JZ Kevin shirt! I love it 👍🍻 keep the lemon squashes flowing and the great content 👌
Old artic cat snowmobile engine where i live that is some of the best power per the package size plus the sound

👍🤘 like others saying 2stroke. Got a 06 yz250 here. Been bored sleeved jetted power piped. Loves too sit on power ban all day. Let's you know your alive.
I would install small Turbo Diesel engine. Heaps of torque and black smoke.
Keep up the good work mates!!!
