Hey brother I just purchased my new 2020 Veloster premium edition and plan on doing similar mods like yours. Thanks so much for your videos that helped me make my mind up that Hyundai was the way to go!
Chayness Thank you I love it already! I traded in my 2011 Tacoma trd Sport for this car and got $16k for it. It had 69k on the odometer so I felt the time was right to get the most out of it 👍 I have researched the Veloster and watching videos like yours for about a year to make my choice and again thanks for your time making videos to inspire people to appreciate the Veloster as it is the “Hot Hatch” to buy.also I’ll make a video of it soon.
Thanks for all your help I have 2016 Veloster Turbo clean low mileage still has warranty on it. The pervious owner mod the hole car but it has a spoiler the devil wings and the paint is cracking and peeling what should be my next step replace it or vinyl wrap it?
Tow Hook: scgarageworks.com/product/veloster-veloster-turbo-front-tow-hooks/ For turn signals, I recently upgraded to these which fix the hyperflash issue as they have built in resistors: www.ebay.com/itm/3000-LUMEN-Error-Free-1156-BA15S-4014-SMD-Amber-LED-Turn-Signal-Blinker-Bulbs/173561842457?hash=item2869178b19:g:WSoAAOSwSiVbrsDM:sc:ShippingMethodStandard!92026!US!-1 As for the hatch light. Look up "6418 LED" on your favorite place to shop (Amazon, Ebay) and choose your favorite!
Correct. In one of the earlier videos I had already installed rear LED turn signals and mentioned that it will cause hyperflashing. I have the resistors but i'm holding off on installing them until I do something else that requires removing the front bumper as well (the headlights need to be removed in order to install the resistors in the front to prevent this.)
Chayness damn i wanted to do such. But dont wanna do the hassle of installing the resistors. Thought the led as described is canbus canceller and will prevent the hyperflashing
Yea I looked into that myself lol. And I have yet to find bulbs with a built in resistor. even worst, replacing the flasher relay doesn't work so for now it HAS to be resistors.
Chayness damn prolly have to live with hyperflashing for now. Anyways thank you. Nice simple DIY's also i think you dont have to pull out the bumper for you the reach the oem harness well no work space but i believe youll be able to do it. Diagram is on the net. Becarefull with the headlight clips too!! Haha
I'll look into it. My fat hands make some simple tasks harder haha but I have something I need to install real soon that requires taking off the bumper so I might just look into doing it then. Stay tuned! :)
Chayness is that for all four led turn signal bulbs? Because i found that DDM tuning sells error free amber led turn signal bulbs for our cars. Did you install resistors on all 4 corners and was it difficult?
@@fgonzalez6972 Thats new. I didn't install load resistors. The hyper flashing didn't really bug me. But not that you brought it up, imma go buy some new bulbs and share the info. Thanks!
Hey I have a question I just got one exact same as yours why does it flap around after I tightened it ? How can I get the hook itself to stay down like yours ?
Thats odd. The hook should be quite heavy to the point it shouldnt flap around. I'd check how tight the bolt holding the hook portion is or make sure yours isn't made of anything else besides some sort of metal.
The tow hook comes complete like in the video. Already assembled with the right size bolt and ring. I have to express that the bolt is made to FIT our cars. Lots of ebay ones will not fit our car.
@@Chayness ya i just bought a tow strap for my 2013 veloster turbo and it wasnt even close to fitting. do you think i could find a right size bolt at a local hardwear store or should i buy a different tow hook all together?
@@gideonhamstra18 The bolt itself is pretty large. I personally have never seen one at a hardware store. You can certainly try but not sure how successful you'll be.
Sadly, most LED bulbs are brighter than the stock accent strip and most are in the 6000K color scheme which is a "cool white" so you're going to have a very hard time finding one that matches both color AND brightness. To make matters worst, unless you buy an LED Headlight bulb set up, you're basically going to be sacrificing your High Beam lights by buying a simple cheap plug & play set of LEDs as it will be fine for DRLs but won't be able to emit a bright enough light to use them as high beams. You're basically stuck buying at least a decent set at about $50 or more.
you have model number for the front turn signal led's you installed -- i like how you cant see yellow when they off in the day but cant seem to find them in the DDM Tuning web sight --thanks
The turn signals ended up being a bit more than $30 for a pair and the interior LED's were about $8 each only because of the brightness levels. You can find some cheaper that aren't as bright and you can also buy more expensive ones that will be brighter (for the turn signals in this case).
I'm currently using the Philips Diamond Vision bulbs. The Nokya's were $11 from Amazon.... the Phillips sell for $36 for a 2 pack, BUT if you buy them individual from Amazon, they're about $13 each, making them $26 for a pair. Saves you $10 bucks!
Dude! What about safety measures if you're got involved in an accident with a pedestrian? Would your insurance company be happy? I think it's not wise to have the hook attached to the car constantly.....
I'd be more concerned with an individuals driving habits if you're hitting someone. This tow hook barely extends maybe an inch past the front bumper.... I'd say a lip spoiler will probably go further out so if you're planning on adding one of those.... I have some bad news for you
Hey dude, love ur car! Im thinking of getting a VT as well but had some questions regarding dependability, maintenance, and issues if any that you've had while owning this car. Thanks!
Hey bro! So I bought mine new and I haven't had any issues of yet. From others, it is suggested to buy a 2014 model or newer if buying used due to the fact that thats when they changed and fixed a few issues they had on previous models. 2016 is the year they did a few revisions as well like the newer gauge cluster. 2017+ has Android Auto/Apple Car play stock but can be gotten on older models with TECH Package only. Maintenance is similar to other cars but a proper cleaning will be needed down the line (100K miles) due to the nature of the GDi engine. This is pretty standard but many install and Oil Catch Can (which i'm currently working on) to help prevent a bit of the gunk that gets into these cars. Hope some of this helps?
Amber delete and the led turn signals look great! Next on my list

Vinyl wrap may be easier unless you end up doing something like Plasti dip
Can you please provide the link to purchase the same tow hook and the lights?? I have been scammed twice for the tow hooks on eBay 🤦🏽♂️

For the turn signal LEDs, are those canbus LEDs to prevent hyperflashing? I bought some regular leds for my VT but they started hyperflashing.
You need to install a resistor kit to prevent the hyperflashing
