Dr. Esselstyn deserves a Nobel prize. He’s 100% spot on in everything he recommends. People who disagree with him simply like meat, dairy and oils too much to give them up. So they suddenly all become expert nutritionists, and come up with some reasons totally unsupported by credible scientific research, to keep their unhealthy habits of eating meats, dairy and oils.

  • @purserconsulting

This is a 14 minute summary of someone's career.
Dr Esselstyn worked an entire career as a heart surgeon. Concluded that all they were doing was to stop people from dying, NOT helping them to live.
As he developed his program (his family all still follow it) he asked for his first test group. the hospital gave him 23? 25? people. They had all been sent home to get their affairs in order and then die.
All but 2 of the people agreed to go on the program. The 2 who opted out died in less than a year. The rest are still alive 20 years later. 2 others stepped on the path and had a heart event and then stepped back on. They are still among the living.

As long as the portions equal a good 👍 ph in the body of 7.5 or better, you'll be just fine 🙂. When the ph is right, then your body is getting all the nutrients and minerals that it needs. If you're acidic, then you need to add more greens and fruits and berries😊. Just buy a roll of ph paper. Use that as your guide.😊

With cutting seed oil and sugar to zero, you will be much healthier than with the SAD diet.
But, the best nutrition is the one you get when you’re fasting.
While you are fasting, your metabolism consumes EXCLUSIVELY animal fat and animal protein. And it consumes NO carbs.
    Now think.
    Now think twice.
    Now let it settle.
Now kick that thought around for some days, weeks or even months.
And then you will raise the question: But I cannot fast all my life?
Well, fasting is not the thing that makes you healthy.
Consuming animal fat and animal protein is what makes you healthy.
    Try
    Enjoy
    Prosper

If you eat healthy balanced meals everyday you should not need supplements or of all things the dreaded statins!

@paulafierro7596 Paila, thanks for sharing. If your numbers are blood test numbers are routinely in range, that's fabulous and sounds like you've figured out the keys for keeping your body healthy. My sense is most people haven't, and most don't have time time or focus to eat even the minimum of anoout 10 servings of fruits and veggies each day. Like you, I'm am extremely vigilant about my health and nutrition, anf even I find it difficult to do so. I'm 66 in good health - especially since going to a plant based diet about a year ago (not Vegan as that's crazy), but even I struggle to consume such a large quantity of fruits and veggies, so I incorporate various supplements into my daily smoothies. Also, my sense is just consuming the recommended "minimum" us suboptimal. My study and experiencevis that in order for most people to keep 2. Oxidation from Free Radixals and 2. Inflammation to as low as possible, it's necessary to supplement natural fruits and veggies with select supplements. Flavanoids are a good example. There's simply not enough Rutin in normal servings of fruits and veggies to optimally combat inflammation. Say, have you undergone a C-Reactive Protein test for underlying Inflammation? Your standard results on the routine CBC blood test that one gets during a standard check-up DO NOT report inflammation activity, or Free Radicsl activity. Look it up. By the time you find you have a problem your tissues, organs, etc have already been irreparably damaged. Supplementation and eating and sleeping and e cer usi g properly is the only way to optimally combat this.

    • @paulafierro7596
      @paulafierro7596 9 месяцев назад

Wow. I’m impressed w your diligence but that’s a little over the top for me. Five fruits n veg a day is optimal for good health. Most days I do eat more vegetables because I eat a large salad everyday. Limit myself to 2 fruits because of sugar. I don’t do smoothies very often but I do aim for 40grams of protein, a slice or 2 of Ezekiel bread. Alternating probiotics and prebiotics is also important to me. I do get bloodwork done every year and it’s always fine. We probably all have some inflammation and free radical activity. Not something I’m overly concerned about but to each their own and God Bless.

I would consider him a world leader in understanding cardiology, without any question, as he shows in his book, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease. However, to call him a Yale cardiologist seems a bit odd. His undergrad degree is from Yale, right? Did he have cardiology training at Yale? I am not sure that he did. So perhaps a better title for Dr. Esselstyn is something like Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute physician Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn? Aren't titles for posts important? Should they not be clear and thoughtful?

Except wait, they had no written language, local communications had to come to you, and the stores were closed on every day that ended with a 'y', so were the factories pumping out processed foods. If you want your kids to live to 120 feed them exclusively meat and fat, w/salt and water, they will grow to 6'+, rarely have a sickie, nor develop inflammation or insulin resistance with a clear mind, endless energy, etc. You? Adopt it and live better, but not 120, too much damage.

THis is the most unhealthy diet I've come across. This guy sounds like he was paid to put out this trash. I highly doubt he actually eats this crap. Plant based diets are the most unhealthy diets, and have horrible blood panels. My grandmother lived to 106, and she ate mostly meats, some vegetables almost no carbs or sugars and no alcohol. She splurged on homemade icecream a few times a year, but outside of that didn't like sweets. She stayed away from whole grains, which are extremely inflamatory and horrible for you, and instead concentrated on only berries for fruits. She always said most other fruits were like eating a candy bar. And she was right.

During the process of turning a whole plant food into oil form, for example olives into olive oil, the original structure of the plant is compromised and what’s left is a nutrient void, high fat, calorie dense ingredient with zero fiber and hardly a trace of the beneficial nutrients from the original whole plant food.
All oil is 100% fat and contains 120 calories and 14 grams of fat per tablespoon. That adds up fast, and since oil has zero fiber, the body absorbs it quickly and it is immediately converted into body fat

Genetics plays the biggest role in longevity.
    Diet?
One size does not fit all.
Moderation in eating whole foods including all meats. Limit starchy foods if you eat at all.
I'm 60 and didn't get better till I cut out the excess carbs. Had prediabetes, joint pain, aches and felt horrible most of the time.
Cut out processed foods, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and sugar.......and now, never felt better.
Just listen to your body. Absorb all the information and filter it because everything contradicts itself.
Whole foods, low carb, was the miracle for me.
Now....my genetics are not that good.....average life expectancy of my family through many generations is 77 years old.
Thats probably about where I'll die anyway. But maybe I get there in decent health.
