Thank you for sharing your work! I sew for many years but to see someone else doing it gives you a lot of new perspectives and ideas! I feel motivated !!! You give me the boost I needed 😄! Thank you!
thank you for sharing this video - i was losing the plot trying to understand the written collar instructions! this is so straightforward and much simpler. thank you!!
I’m so disappointed you did not sing “My Sharona” for us!!! 😂😂 Excellent dress. The Drummer calls things like this ‘memory passion.’ I’m super glad you now have the dress. There are a few memory passion things I should sew for myself. Thanks for the inspiration. XOjennyinseattle (Bookworm)
Yes, same! It was such a charming short story. 🌸I’ll need to rewatch to see which dress to try to recreate. I remember being blown away by the costume design.
I am so glad I found your channel. I love watching your crisp confidence as you sew and your personal sewing style intrigues me, especially your sleeve insertion method. Oh I forget - your dress is gorgeous!🌷
Omg I loved that dress, too! I am so glad you recreated it! I have been watching all of your videos and I love your channel. Wonderful work! ETA: I also love the detail on your iron! My Rowenta is not that cute!😅
hi Cleo, i am a new subscriber, what a great channel。i only buy indie patterns!! so i am so pleased to have found you❤!! i think your dress is awesome!! the collar for the reeta dress had me scratching my head for a few years, so i have put it aside and it had never been made. i hope to pick it up again and re create. That ‘reality bites’ dress which winona was wearing. in that clip you showed me in the video, looks exactly like the Merchant and Mills Factory dress….
Oh thank you, and thanks for subscribing! 💜 I am glad you found me, too! About the Reeta dress collar, I read a similar comment on a pattern review site. Since the Gilbert Top from Helen's Closet was very similar, I decided to wing it based on how they did it, and it worked pretty well. Do give it another go! And I love the Factory Dress by Merchant and Mills--you are right on that it looks very similar!
thank you so much for doing this! That is still one of my very favorite movies, and I have the same dress pattern in my wish list... You look beautiful in your dress :) Thanks again!
Inspiring me to start sewing again. Can you tell me when you find a great fabric and you’re not sure what you will do with it, how many metres do you buy? Thanks 😊
So glad to hear you are going to start sewing again! And great question--if I can afford it, I will try to buy at least two (safe amount for a top) or up to three. If it might be for a dress, I try to get closer to four because I wear them long. But if I am buying four meters/yards or more, it probably is on sale! 😁

I am so happy to hear this! Thank you and happy sewing! ✨💐

Yes I can remember those instructions! I am glad this was helpful! 😊💜
I totally would add side pockets. But, you usually need to make the pattern as designed and then tweak it. Just like a cooking recipe. Very nice video.

😂 It would take a lot for me to sing in a video! 🤣
Love the dress. Excited to see the video for the Shopgirl dress. I liked that movie so much that I read the book.

Shirt dresses are the best! 💜✨
Very pretty. Wonderful job!!!
Thanks so much!! 😁
I love the movie and that dress too! Thanks for this video.
Thanks for watching! 💜✨
It's nice.
Would look great with suade camel coloured boots!
Amelie is a film you might super enjoy with gorgeous vintage inspired clothing.
Thank you! And I love your boots idea. 😊 I have not watched Amelie in a long time. It is a good idea to revisit that one with an eye on sewing!
I forgot - I was intrigued by your sleeve installation. Would you demonstrate your method in another video, please? 🌷
Yes, great topic and will do! I will be working on a top this Fall and will be sure to do a short one on how I tend to do sleeves. :)
So pretty
Thank you so very much! 🥰
