The weird ambient-like vibrato echo-ey sound makes it so cool and ethereal. It's like the midpoint between this piano got fked and this piano is perfect.

Is it just me who likes the before better sometimes? 😭 The reason why I like street pianos is because you can count on them being off tune 🤭 But still this guy is a miracle worker on pianos
Just imagine the joy on a kids face when they walk over to the piano, cherishing the memories of back when it was in tune and working properly, only to relive those memoriesvall over again.
Wow... Good job. Sounds amazing after tuning. I want to get a grand in the future but i dont have the space for it at the moment, and i have a digital clavinova currently, so i was thinking of buying an upright second hand instead from a place that looks after them well. Its at the point where i can tell the difference between digital and acoustic and can hear the limitations of the digital. Do you recommend anything, or any advice?
If space/volume is an issue, look into spinet pianos. They are uprights that just aren't as tall. Kimball pianos are pretty inexpensive, but still sound really good. That's what I use. They also made grand pianos once you're ready to upgrade.
@@salfaimusicI would actually say it’s generally better to get a console piano than a spinet, because spinets have a complicated mechanical aspect that is unusually difficult to maintain. Console pianos are a little taller but shouldn’t have a larger footprint.
My number one piece of advice when looking for a used piano is…. Do not pick up a used piano without having a local piano tuner take a look at it! I’ve witnessed so many horror stories of people paying $500 to move a piano then finding out it’s junk.
If you are getting an acoustic and go with an upright for limited space, make sure you check the action. At a certain height you have a direct action, i.e., keystrokes directly trigger the hammers, as opposed to a more complicated action that relies on stickers or other in-between parts. The more complicated the apparatus, the more little teeny parts that can break or misalign, especially in poorly controlled humidity environments. Also, make sure to place the piano by an interior wall, rather than an exterior one to keep the temperature regulated. Your piano tuner will thank you. That said, there are some solid electric keyboards that can be plugged in to pedals and even have weighted action and pressure sensitivity akin to an acoustic piano. Depending on how authentic the experience and how many bells and whistles you want with it, you can get something decent used at about $400-500 and new in the $800-$1000 range.
@@maskedmallard537 I’ve actually found that the stickers on tall uprights are helpful as they add more weight the the back end of the action and rarely get out of regulation. Are you talking about the spinet type?
Bloomington Indiana!?! Oh my goodness I thought this piano looked familiar. Thanks for keeping up the good work! I’ve seen a few other public piano’s around town and learning move about this is awesome!

Im not a professional or intermediate piano player but seeing you tune and play the piano brings me immense joy. have you ever been asked to un-tune a piano? i think mild to moderately out of tune pianos sound beautiful in a haunting way and id definitely ask someone to do that for me if i played it lmao
Atonality is fun bc it means that the music is inbetween the rules that music theory gives you. You aren't defined by rigid notes and 3rds, 5ths, etc, you just have what you think might sound good, and I think that's cool
I live in Sweden in a very small town. in junior high school there is only one music room. my mother worked there when I was little, and a little way outside the music room there was a piano (when I was little). because of my great interest in music when I was little, I wanted to play the piano, but it was not possible. it was so old and out of tune, some keys didn't work. they removed it after a while. but now that I actually go to school, there is one real piano left, the rest is electric and mom doesn't work there anymore, that piano will soon be in the same condition as its brother. i'm a dumbo and can only play real pianos so i always have to ground out and listen to what we have at school, i wish they could fix it but they never do.
