Gliding 17Aug21

I was lucky enough to get a gliding experience as a birthday present from Ray and Shelley and today was the day! We got towed to 3000 feet before my pilot and instructor, Jeff, released the tow cable. We were able to climb to a little over 6100 feet on rising air currents after release. I got to fly the glider under Jeff's instruction and we didn't crash, so all was good! This video is just over half an hour long. We were in the air for just under an hour but my head mounted camera failed after saving 30+ minutes. Thanks to Ray for the out of cockpit take-off and the landing videos. This was my very first time in a plane, never having flown before and I loved it. If you're ever given the chance to try gliding, go for it. I can heartily recommend it and the guys at Deeside Gliding Club are friendly and very helpful. It's quite likely I'll have another go sometime in the future... :)
