      The writers narrowed their options even when they had other characters in the show. They should have used Giovanni in a triangle with Rick and Kimberly. Or CJ and Bridget in a triangle with Amber... The last three actors should have stolen the scene to the older triangle that for me had been resolved with the twins.
      But not for marriages or parenting stuff. They were so young

    Mick Cain really is a great actor. His scenes with Susan Flannery are so good and full of zest. One really feels they’re watching two equally matched actors.
    That being said, the story continues to irk me in its laziness. All of the sudden this previously run-down but safe apartment is a Dickensian cesspit of danger. Equally abruptly, the previously level-headed CJ is shown as a stubborn hothead who ignores valid threats to his baby’s safety. And the man who has a supportive mother and is perfectly willing to open her very comfortable home to them insists on staying in the unsafe dump. None of it makes sense, and it really is the height of laziness for the writers not to find any other way to push the inevitable Amber-Rick reunion.
    On the positive side, I’m enjoying that Rick couldn’t get to second base with Kimberly, but Kimberly is literally begging Thorne to do her 😂.
    I also laughed at Brooke opening her wallet to look at a pic of Thorne. Hey, how thick do we think *that* wallet is, if there’s a sleeve for every ex?

    • @TriniT21
      @TriniT21 8 месяцев назад +7

      Lazy writing indeed, for a very good actor.
      Additionally, CJ owns a business and Amber is still a waitress at Cafe Russe.. Make it make sense.

    • @DonaldTaft

      Very bad writing that demonstrates they struggled to come up with a reasonable way for Steph to come out again as the “good guy” in this situation. The sudden poor condition of the apartment aside, can someone remind me why Steph has been so gung-ho to “get” little Eric back up to this point? Is it trying to appease Eric as her husband because his son, Rick, is determined to have the baby again?

    • @TriniT21

      @@DonaldTaft very bad writing that shows they struggled to develop conflict in the first place.

      @FayeIL 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@DonaldTaftIf that was the intent, they failed. Stephanie will always be my OG B&B love, but she comes off as overbearing and way out of line here. Moreover, one is left wondering why she’s even involved in this storyline, much less driving it. It makes even less sense when you consider that during her last conversation with Ridge re the Morgan mess, she was all “Tell Taylor, don’t tell Taylor, just do something already” and then basically peaced out of that whole situation. Now don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want to be within 1000 miles of that mess either 😂, but arguably Stephanie has a much greater stake in her son’s marriage and its impact on her actual grandchildren. Yet she was pulled out of that storyline to drive the Amber/Rick/CJ mess. Strange.

      I think CJ is reeling over Macy's death. Any and every Forrester is to blame, and now they're bulldozing their way into his personal space to take away whatever little he has remaining. He is in crisis.

    • @annieo6527

      Stephanie was making a valid point about the apartment (which was a ridicuIously contrived plot device by the way, because Stephanie came to visit when Becky lived there and never noticed any of this, and now suddenly the place is falling apart?). And you are right, if it had been Sally pointing out these things CJ would have listened.
      I had to laugh at CJ trying to throw Stephanie out, while Little Eric still had Stephanie's keys! 😂
      And yes @Teligon, I agree that CJ is still in crisis because of Macy's death (so soon after Becky's death), and this makes him extra sensitive to how the Forresters treat him.

      @@annieo6527 OK it was her keys! Lol. I thought so, and said, but she can't leave anyway bc the baby has her car/house keys lol. I thought CJ was about to bring them back lol.
      And yes, since this stupidly, lazily written story began, I kept saying that they all were coming to the apt when Becky was alive and nobody had an issue as to the apt itself or its location. Now it's suddenly unsafe? I mean, it is unsafe, but it's all quite sudden and exaggerated. And it's notably quite clean too. I have not seen one rodent in there. Quite frankly Steph lived in a worse scenario when she had amnesia and was homeless.
      And I still don't get why CJ doesn't just move everybody into Sally's place, or, just get another apt. Doesn't have to be in BHills.. I'm sure there are decent neighbourhoods where average working ppl live. He's not poor!!!

    My sense is that Kimberly falling for Thorne was not meant to be seen (or written) as her trying to live her sister's life. We're meant to believe that Kimberly's feelings for Thorne are not at all connected to Macy. If that is the case, what is it that Kimberly finds so appealing about Thorne? He's a thirtysomething, unemployed beach bum who spends most of his days thinking about sleeping with his stepmother. Why would a 19 year-old girl find that attractive?
