Hi Lesley, the item you call washing machine in the bedroom is actually used to spin the honey. Lovely to go back in time. Your excitement in going into these abandoned house is catching. Thank you 🌻
37:02 - this is not a washing machine, but a honey extractor. My father and I used exactly the same Soviet-made device in the mid-90s when pumping honey in my father's apiary in Russia.
my late grand father also had this from before ww.2; yes this is for honey....that is why there were honey containers in that room; forgot to add IN POLAND
This reminds me of my Grandparents farmhouse, where I lived as a young girl. I learned to cook and bake on a wood burning stove like the big one in the kitchen. The barn with a window to the kitchen was winter quarters for animals, and warmth put off by their bodies would help warm the house. In summer they were mostly in the pastures and outside pens. We had storm windows as well, to help insulate the home. The girl with flowers in her hair in the photo probably had to do with celebrating Walpurgisnacht, May Eve. The item you called a “press for sealing letters” was a blotter, it would be rocked across any writing to absorb any ink that was still wet, and help it dry more quickly. We used an outhouse for going to the washroom, and a chamberpot under the bed at night, which was emptied in the morning. You washed up in the morning from a bowl in your bedroom, and bathed once a week in a metal bath filled with water heated on the stove. It was put in front of the fireplace.🖤🇨🇦
It's sad to see old photos, especially of children, left behind and forgotten. Have you ever considered doing research into who once owned these places and perhaps finding and interviewing them just to answer some questions like why they left and putting names to the faces in the photos? That would be interesting to watch.
Hi Lesley 👋 The item you describe as "a press to seal envelopes..." is actually an ink blotter. When one wrote with a pen dipped into ink, wet ink would be left behind. You would then "roll" this ink blotter over what you had written, to BLOT UP the excess ink when it was still wet on the paper! This would prevent you from having smeared/smudged words and paper. (Hope this wasn't too confusing!) 🙂
He's been told that many times! But he always says it's to seal envelopes. He acknowledged one person back in the beginning when he still read our comments.
Excited about this one Lesley..wow, a outhouse in the barn/storage room. I can't believe it! 70yrs being abandoned, is a long time. Love that stove in that cute little kitchen, everything is left in that curio, almost like the family went out for the day and just never returned. Love everything about this once beautiful home..stay safe healthy and blessed! Everyone ☀️🌴
Television was just making its way into peoples homes in 1951. It's strange how 1951 seems like it's 150 years ago to you, for me it's not that long ago. I was born in 1959.
We look for years for antiques & you go into abandon places & boom there's thousands of beautiful treasures. I love seeing them in their original used undisturbed state much better than viewing them for sale in an antique store. Really cool makes you feel like you're that time & space.
The shoes with metal spikes aren't for rock climbing but are for traction on ice in the winter. I was glad that someone mentioned the honey extractor as it's not a washing machine. It seems to me that the man of the house was a holocaust survivor and returned home alone, maybe allowed some others to stay above the barn to help with the farm but passed away a few years later. I would like it if you could check for dates on newspapers to help with a better time line. Nice explore, you have a pleasant voice.

Hi it's Louanne here, yes I did think it was a honey extractor first, as one would put the honeycomb in top part first & then press, then the pure honey runs into the tub...tell me if I got the part right. Then second thought was don't laugh where one would keep churning the milk to make cheese 😁 lol
I visited this place so often in the last 2 years, it's so interesting to see it from your perspective, seeing it the way you envision it. I filmed my first (and last) RUclips video with commentary in that place... So many memories, thank you for sharing, I'm looking forward to going on tour with you soon!
Hi Lesley, another great find. Is there any news on Maureno? I truly hope he's recovering well and will soon be able to return home 🏡 safely to his family. 💖💖🙏🙏

@@Puschit1 I agree we do not know how they felt for sure. I am only expressing my own viewpoint based on my own experiences in a similar environment. Hi Lesley! I think this place was abandoned less than 70 years ago. I see that some electrical furniture looks modern than 50's - rectangular and sharp-edged. Also, vacuum cleaner looks like from 60's. But six decades, I think, is enough long time too.
There are newer than seventy year old items in that place. The roof on it will outlast most all the rest of the place. The clock on the wall is pretty, and the way it’s heated is very energy efficient. People should go back in time for a lot of things.

Hi Lindsay loved this video. I chuckled when I saw you described the honey extractor as the washing machine. Tins made sense when you see 2 items together. Can't wait till next week
Heyy dear Lesley, That is really looking incredibly well preserved. Amazing! - Of course this is especially interesting for me, as you found that location in Switzerland. - That photographic portrait is also remarkably interesting to see and showing a very beautiful lady in a 19th century attire, as I presume. - The room has a total time capsule vibe with beautiful furniture from the period. - The hat and the pair fo shoes give you the impression, as if the person of that place would return at any moment, although they might have been placed there already for decades. - So, my dear friend, I am already very excited to see this video. Stay safe, bro, peace and kindest regards. - Any news of our dear friend Maureno already?
@@olebrgesen795 , Hi Ole Borgesen Yes, he did so - and together with exactly these two guys, you can see in the video, they visited me last year in July and that was absolutely wonderful. They all are well mannered lovely young men, that I felt so happy to accomodate them. - Wishing you all the best and kindest regards.
From 1949 we lived in northern New England. There were no TV channels and the nearest was Boston. My Father was a barber and I would go with him to handicapped people to cut their hair in their homes. One man had a big tower outside his home and we entered at the end of his bed was a small TV with a screen. First tv I had ever seen. Great video.
Them being bee keepers, the item in the bedroom next to the bed, the large round one is a bee keepers honey extractor. Awesome, find Leslie. We just found you about 2 weeks ago. We really enjoy watching you.
I had to watched this video again. The layout of this beautiful house is crazy wonderful. I'm just baffled about why the family left this wonderful home and everything behind. Where did they go and why didn't they come back for their personal items? I love videos like this such a mystery. Lesley, this was one awesome video!!! I think the only bathroom they had was that outhouse...stay safe healthy and blessed everyone!! See you on your next adventure...😊
Your careful placement to return the precious items to their original placement must greatly please the spirits-it is how they can exist, by the memory of the exact place each item occupied as it was when they died-every item composes, not only the memory that allows their sprits to continue onward, but these spirit’s spiritual bones. Jumble them all up by replacing them haphazardly and the spirits would no doubt begin to fade away. I love that you show them so much respect! You are so kind and empathetic. Let these spirits continue to rest in their memories and in those tiny precious items that give them life. ❤😊
Not 70 years.. Transparent plastic egg carton and yellow plastic bag was not from in 1951! More like the 70s 80s.. Very beautiful and historic family home You are really excellent at telling stories and explaining everything about the family. Keep up the excellent job.
What a sweet farmhouse. I was most struck by the children’s bedrooms. They seemed to be well loved by the nature of each darling little room. I imagine they were a close family, warm and affectionate. Thanks guys!
29:32 that is a chamber pot, (a nighttoilet") on the on the heater. There were no bathrooms in such houses, the toilet was mostly outside on the veranda. The second front window was only used in the winter, to reduce heat loss in the house. Thanks for that video, loved it! Greetings from the 🇨🇭 mountains! And the hiking shoes were work shoes to have a better grip.
The "toilet" in the barn actually had the seat behind it. Guessing it was an out house and they had it in the barn instead of in the yard because it gets so cold there.
The newspapers if they are ON the wall was actually wallpaper in the day. Theyd crumple them up and dtop them in the walls for insulation. Huge fire hazard but folks were much less careless back than. What an amazing home. It should be preserved as is and made a museum. What a treat. Theres nothing like that here in america.
The first thing coming to my mind is that it's look like a boarding house ( once the children are gone ?). A honey maker, a soldier, a private entrance. Two grown men. Only an hypothesis...
Hola estimado amigo!!
Thank you Lesley, that place was fascinating. I could imagine the four kids running through the house and out into the yard to play. I could also hear that beautiful wall clock chiming away in the nighttime silence as everyone slept soundly in their beds. Thank you for taking us along with you. I can't wait till the next adventure. Love you much. Be safe.

Another awesome video, so fascinating. Also learned from the comments what a honey extractor is. Thank you Lesley for sharing these time capsules with us. Can’t wait to see more.
Hey, I have a clock with similar molding to that one; it was a wedding present from my late parents. It's over 30 years old. ☺️ Great discovery! I wonder what happened to the people. The bedrooms are left immaculate.
Beautiful home. It has been empty longer than I am old. Thank you for all you do to bring us a look at times long gone. Thanks for your exploration and sharing with us.
Beautiful scenery. So much like B.C. Canada where i was raised. I was born 1955. Got our first tv 1963. So long ago in our minds but only a moment in history. You find such interesting places.
Absolutely wonderful explore. Thank you. I think it’s been abandoned a long time but I don’t think anywhere near as long as 1951. There was some electrical tape there and a ceiling lamp in one of the rooms that looked like it was from the 1990s. It probably belonged to an old couple who never modernised and preferred the old style but may not have passed on all that long ago. I’m guessing late 1990s.

Heyy dear Lesley, That is really looking incredibly well preserved. Amazing! - Of course this is especially interesting for me, as
you found that location in Switzerland. - That photographic portrait is also remarkably interesting to see and showing
a very beautiful lady in a 19th century attire, as I presume. - The room has a total time capsule vibe with beautiful furniture
from the period. - The hat and the pair fo shoes give you the impression, as if the person of that place would return at any moment,
although they might have been placed there already for decades. - So, my dear friend, I am already very excited to see this video.
Stay safe, bro, peace and kindest regards. - Any news of our dear friend Maureno already?
I hope he found the time to visit you Willy. He’s a good lad, so of course you have had a beer or two together 😊
@willy Egger Switzerland looks amazing.
@@olebrgesen795 , Hi Ole Borgesen Yes, he did so - and together with exactly these two guys, you can see in the video,
they visited me last year in July and that was absolutely wonderful. They all are well mannered lovely young men,
that I felt so happy to accomodate them. - Wishing you all the best and kindest regards.
@@careyh38 , Hi Carey H, thank you so much! I also like living here! - Peace and kindest regards.
Very interesting...I never imagined abandoned Swiss homes. Lesley, can you give us any feedback on Maureno? I am most concerned about him.
GREAT JOB ONCE AGAIN LESLEY STAY SAFE WE WILL KEEP WATCHING
I saw a Chamber pot in the downstairs bedroom, that was their other toilet! Love the chalet style of the house.
Love your elaborate storytelling. What an amazing find.
The ‘washing machine’. Is a honey extractor. 😊. Love your exploring!
I'm so emotional,70 years❣️💕
Not 70 years.. Transparent plastic egg carton and yellow plastic bag was not from in 1951! More like the 70s 80s.. There's no way that it's been abandoned for 70 years, there's too much plastic stuff in it that reminded me of the 80s that plastic egg holder and matchboxes didn't look old to me either in a kitchen the 1940 and 1950 match boxes were in a wooden box with rubbers on the side nat just white paper boxes like in the 80-90 s I also noticed a plastic yellow beverage bottle on the floor in a corner of the room
An amazing presentation of a time capsule locked in time! Wow!
Hello Lesley! Very incredible house where the time forgot past and stayed frozen there. The house is very cute and cozy and your kindness to show the 📷 is amazing 👏 😉🤗❤👍
Great video, but right at the start there are newspapers with Charles and Diana on them so somebody was there in the 80s or early 90s.
Very true ! Also Transparent plastic egg carton and yellow plastic bag he found and that plastic vacum cleaner was not from in 1951 ! More like the 70s 80s.. There's no way that it's been abandoned for 70 years, there's too much plastic stuff in it that reminded me of the 80s that plastic egg holder and matchboxes didn't look old to me either in a kitchen the 1940 and 1950 match boxes were in a wooden box with rubbers on the side not just white paper boxes like in the 80-90 s I also noticed a plastic yellow beverage bottle on the floor in a corner of the room
Awesome and amazing video 📹. I love 💘 this older house. Very nice house. I hope that your brother is doing better. Prayers for him 🙏 ❤ 💙. Stay safe 👌 👍 🙏 ❤ 💓 💙
Fantástico abandono, como siempre. Saludos desde México. Lamento mucho lo de EXPLOMO. Ojalá estén mejor.
Que le pasoó
Great video thanks for sharing. Love the beautiful antiques keep sharing.
What a wonderful old pristine property 👍🙏❤️ I loved this beautiful home!!! Sad that the antique, wooden furniture isn’t saved & restored😞 Thank you Leslie for a wonderful place in this gorgeous country 👍🙏❤️
grande Lesley. bellissima esplorazione
hai notizie di maureno? tienici informati grazie
Fantastic explore, very interesting. Really neat shoes. Loved the honey containers. Thank you. Stay safe.
hello leslie is there any update on the xplomo crew on their situation was just curious of eveything is ok u said their in legal trouble? Thanks!
Best house I’ve seen yet so many linens, curtains, and clothes all in amazing condition! Loved it!
I absolutely LOVE your sense of imagination as you describe your adventures!!! Thank you!! Have you ever thought that some of these abandoned places, with all the contents still left in them were victims of the holocaust?
Not in 1951 and not in Switzerland. I thought Switzerland was neutral during World War II (which ended in 1945).
My thoughts excately
I love the way everything over 50 years is ancient Lesley
Beautiful there.
Same here. Hello Susan how are you doing today i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
I love this house more than all the others. Thank you
I was born in 1951, 70 years ago, really loved to visit a place same age as myself, abandoned, also like to watch all of your old places we visit with you Bros.
But this place was not abandoned 70 years ago sorry lady .. Transparent plastic egg carton and yellow plastic bag he found and that plastic vacum cleaner was not from in 1951 ! More like the 70s 80s.. There's no way that it's been abandoned for 70 years, there's too much plastic stuff in it that reminded me of the 80s -90 s that plastic egg holder and matchboxes didn't look old to me either in a kitchen the 1940 and 1950 match boxes were in a wooden box with rubbers on the side not just white paper boxes like in the 80-90 s I also noticed a plastic yellow beverage bottle on the floor in a corner of the room
Very beautiful and historic family home
You are really excellent at telling stories and explaining everything about the family.
Keep up the excellent job.
The washing machine is a honey separator. You put your honey combs in the baskets and hand spin the honey out of the comb.
What a sweet farmhouse. I was most struck by the children’s bedrooms. They seemed to be well loved by the nature of each darling little room. I imagine they were a close family, warm and affectionate. Thanks guys!
29:32 that is a chamber pot,
(a nighttoilet") on the on the heater.
Yes, I noticed that too -- that wooden seat I mean.
One of my favorites so far. They lived so simple, I Love it.
The first thing coming to my mind is that it's look like a boarding house ( once the children are gone ?). A honey maker, a soldier, a private entrance. Two grown men. Only an hypothesis...
Hola estimado amigo!!
Precioso!!!

Hi there how are you doing today i do hope you are safe from the Covid?
Very homey Good vibes from this house, was very cute in its day 🤗🤗
It’s absolutely beautiful 🤩 hello Susan how are you doing today i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
Thank you Lesley, that place was fascinating. I could imagine the four kids running through the house and out into the yard to play. I could also hear that beautiful wall clock chiming away in the nighttime silence as everyone slept soundly in their beds. Thank you for taking us along with you. I can't wait till the next adventure. Love you much. Be safe.
Amazing home so much history of 70 years ago and so much left i loved it guys .
I haven't been getting your notifications for months. Just found you again. So glad.
That's a really interesting place, Lesley! The vintage photos are heartmelting, why would people leave their family memories behind? Thank you for the lovely exploration!!!
Great discovery! I wonder what happened to the people. The bedrooms are left immaculate.
Awe that sound sweet!
Hello Annette how are you doing
I do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
Lesley, you have a excitining job , oh how I would loves to restore these places
Chests of winter clothes, possibly (doesn't look like blankets).
Beautiful home. It has been empty longer than I am old. Thank you for all you do to bring us a look at times long gone. Thanks for your exploration and sharing with us.
Wow! What a beautiful portrait!
Beautiful scenery. So much like B.C. Canada where i was raised. I was born 1955. Got our first tv 1963. So long ago in our minds but only a moment in history. You find such interesting places.
The press you talk about for envelopes is a ink dryer to dry fresh ink writing 😊
How's Maureno? Any update?
Absolutely wonderful explore. Thank you. I think it’s been abandoned a long time but I don’t think anywhere near as long as 1951. There was some electrical tape there and a ceiling lamp in one of the rooms that looked like it was from the 1990s. It probably belonged to an old couple who never modernised and preferred the old style but may not have passed on all that long ago. I’m guessing late 1990s.
You'd be surprised at the ages of some electrical tools and such. None of the stuff he showed here looked like it came from the 90's.

@@queenkurumi8504 Yes I noticed the plastic bag too, in the sewing box. Now way it was from the 50s.
The tiled stove/heater in the living room, they have those in Austria too. My auntie in Vienna has one in her living room.
LOVE FROM PENNSYLVANIA LESLEY
Growing up in Canada , we had two separate windows in our house. The house was built in 1940 but airtight windows were added in the sixties. Thank you Leslie for another touching explore!
Knowing how good hearted you are I bet you put the snail outside 🤗❤️ This was nice, enjoyed it as usual. Bravo. 😚
