Beautiful boat…would it help waterproofing even more with a layer of fiberglass?

Thanks. :-) You could do that, but I haven't found it necessary. The plank laps are already caulked with a bead of flexible polyurethane, which keeps up very well with the shrinking and swelling of the wood. Fiberglass would make it a lot more rugged, though. So if you plan to drag it onto rocky beaches etc. it might be a good idea.

The video is a flickin' advertisment for a course he offers... take it for what it is.

Yes ... but I chose this particular design among hundreds of others because it really is quite fantastic. :-)

Even so, if the entire video is a soft sell for a product or course you are offering, you might want to be up front about that in the beginning of the video. I found the information quite interesting and only got turned off by the sales pitch at the end. If I knew ahead of time I might have still watched it, or not, I really don't know.
Just saying if the point of the video is to sell your service be up front about it for those who are not familiar with you. It is just a itty-bitty, teeny tiny bit douchy to not let people know.
Nice production quality BTW. Much better that a lot of videos on RUclips. Did you out source or do it your self? I liked the Ken Burns style of cutting in panned shots of historic pictures and documents with live action scenes. It looked really good.

@@danieljacobson74 Good point. Didn't think of it that way when I made it - actually the video was made for my web site and then I put it on RUclips afterwards. I really don't want to do sneaky selling, so I've changed the title of the video to make things more clear up front. Thanks for the kind words on the production quality. I did it all myself, using a compact camera for the shooting and DaVinci resolve (great free software) for the editing. I'm still very much in the learning phase regarding video production, so I'm glad you like it. And thanks again for the very useful feedback - as a content producer, it's great to get an outsider's view on your work.

@@SmallBoatSchool Soft sell is a very common practice. Some of us old school guys don't like it but it's the new way of doing business. I don't care, your info is great, fun, well done and beautiful!
