As a musician who's also a gamer, I will agree. Cold war severely missed the mark with the music hardly any. Nothing I can even think of captured me at all. Went back to bo3 and bo4 and was a breath of fresh air to simply start an EE song
Literally been watching you since GK first in the world and really started following all your content since Chronicles reveal. As much as your new variety content is still awesome, it was nice to see you react/post something zombies again. Hopefully the new mode is good enough to hook the community and yourself back into the game mode we all know and love.
I'm sure people have already talked about this but I just noticed a monkey bomb on the shelf when they first walk into the room with the corpses. That's pretty cool. It had cob webs all over it.
You missed some easter eggs in the trailer there, the 4 dead bodies in the room they breached are the 4 members of requiem, weaver, carver, leopould, and dr. Grey. There was also a monkey bomb on a shelf and 3 perk cans (elemental pop, juggernog and deadshot daquri) as well as the cerberus wonder weapons, W.A.N.D and kransy soldat arm

I very much agree with your "mystical Indiana Jones" take, I know theres differing opinions when it comes to this but i definitely prefer the more fantasy side of Zombies, i enjoyed when Aether went into it more & that was propably my favorite part of Chaos, i wished Cold War delved into experiencing/going into the Dark Aether more instead of having 3 maps being military facilities (tbf u did experience it a bit in Die Maschine), & i thought what we saw of the DA in Vanguard was neat, hopefully we'll see that side more instead of basic military stuff. Also COD has a blog detailing story stuff & of what happened in the cutscene if ur interested
Great video JC and I’m on the same page as you. I’m interested in the new DMZ x Zombies experience too. Even though it isn’t traditional I’m glad they’re experimenting because you never know what’ll hit, kinda like how WaW zombies was just a shot in the dark. I’m kinda interested in the Dark Aether story, but I was also kinda interested in the Aether story back then when I started back in WaW. I’ve always been a gameplay first guy and if the gameplay isn’t good I won’t necessarily care about the story too much, but if it’s good I’ll sink my teeth into everything. Awesome to see you back JC posting some zombies stuff and being optimistic about it and interested. There’s alot of discourse about this mode, but aslong as it’s a fun and enjoyable experience, I think people will have fun and be happy with it, atleast for a while anyways.
The characters in requiem were the dead bodies in the new mw3 zombies cutscene from cold war such as carver Strauss’ grey and weaver and the thing takes place 40~50 years after Cold War and the story is zaceve heard rumors and whispers while recovering from old soviet ops and then finally found evidence and wants to weaponize aetherium we are sent in to contain and investigate the outbreak
I tweeted this when they dropped the trailer and how it was so neat and surreal seeing zombies in modern times. Zombies has always been in the past or future. I think dmzombies will be cool but not super engaging after a while. I am interested in seeing how a round base map will look when it inevitably comes.
They’re not going to add round based to this. All their round based content and developers are working on 2024. This mode is being worked on the newly expanded Outbreak devs they hired after Cold War, with support from Sledgehammer. They’ll support this mode throughout the year adding different areas, perks, and mission acts basically how DMZ and Outbreak updates were handled.

They are forcing a game mode that's going to completely bankrupt the company, I don't know why they felt like they have to drastically change the whole zombies mode. It didn't need to be fixed or modified it was perfect. On PC and console they are trying to force OUTBREAK & on CODM they are forcing UNDEAD SIEGE practically the same thing. Unwanted modes that take up space, I'll rather want more content of what's already there. They need to work on Classic zombies instead of leaving it on a standstill
Hi JC! been a fan since the og days. I share the same feelings. The old story was something special whereas the new story is a lot more streamlined. I do like it enough to continue playing though. During cold war, there was a LOT of intel, a bit much sometimes, with a few callbacks in there. It also mentions some really cool stuff we would never really see in game. We get to see some of that in vanguard zombies, which has a pretty decent story but sadly the lack of round based, content, and some other issues caused many to dislike it. Overall, I want to try out this DMZ game mode. Also rip to my boy weaver in the chair in this trailer

I think it should've been its own story, have Makarov as like the Richtofen. they have potential in creating something good for zombies but i feel like it isnt there yet. also have a set crew but can change into any operator if you want to proceed the EE like Shadows of Evil needing 4 people. idk but something is there, just the execution is meh.
I totally agree with you JC!! Zombies is missing the mystical character that it used to have, Cold War gameplay was definitely smooth, but dear God was the story so dry. I am not a fan of adult Samantha, and I definitely miss the Primis crew… I’m still holding out hope that they’ll bring back the Primis characters in a “Dark Aether” form where they’ve been merged with the Dark Aether and that could explain the “Aether Shroud” type abilities.
