Scotty Kilmer my grandfather had an Mercedes E200 Compressor (2003 )and it never broke down on him and it was relative maintenance free ( he sold it then because he got into an elderly people home )
How important is it to turn off the car when refueling it with gasoline?
Hey Scotty, is it necessary to use top tier gasoline every fill up or just once in a while. My car is a flex fuel vehicle and I use E85 about every third fill up because it’s less expensive but the fuel mileage is 2-3 MPG less than regular unleaded.
Hey Scotty love your channel. I was look at a 09 dodge charger with a hem the transmission won't go in any gear. In a Honda teck. 5 years experience. Should I try to take out the trans or take it to dodge?

Dude isn't lying. I remember making a comment like 3 or four years ago and dude kinda surprised me with his reply. I didn't even ask a question! Don't know if he had 1mil+ subscribles then but I'm positive it was around that number. Then you think of all the random comments. How the heck could you get anything done replying to all of that?

It's funny because Ive seen people buy newer cars and already start having expensive problems. Just still can't believe how my 1993 Honda Civic still runs fine. At first I thought it was a POS because of its age but realized that it is cheaper to own and you can do a lot to these cars in terms of modifying. Used to drive a 2008 Chrysler 300C but auto transmission started slipping crazy and had electrical issues with the dash and stuff. The "luxury" of it was nice and all but I'd ten times rather be able to fix something myself and save a fortune rather than taking it to a dealer IMO. Sure the civic was no where near as fast stock but in all honesty it's too hot for me to speed around here and if I ever want power I can always Turbo or swap the Honda motor. So Honda ftw ig.
This is not uncommon, to many issues with modern cars, just keep driving it, it will save you many thousands, this is the main reason I drive a twenty year old car.
I have a 94, which my mechanic told me 150000 miles ago that the noise it has with the transmission what's the beginning of the end. Now I have over 300K on it with the same noise in the tranny
I'm a retired auto repair/ tire guy (all apps); this is the business I grew up in. I saw lots of steering, suspension, and engine related things consistently failing pre-maturely as related to various auto/ light truck manufacturers. A business you can learn something new every day. I'm also a fan/ subscriber, Scotty, and I've been watching your videos for some time. Still learning! ...you are an exceptionally informed and honest guy! Thank you!

You have given me a lot of insight over the years and I'm proud to say you have helped keep me 2000 S-10 with 235000 miles and counting on the road. Whenever it comes time for my next car or truck I will taking a good look at the Toyota line. I have friends with Tercels, Corollas, Camerys and the Tundra and they just keep going. Have a great day. Hi Scotty I’m a new subscriber and never been interested in cars beyond how they looked. Want to thank you since watching your channel I’ve changed out my blown brake light bulbs and replaced the battery in my Toyota’s key. Small things but big steps for me - you’ve inspired a new interest for me and I got great personal satisfaction from those small wins so thankyou. Currently I own a 2012 corolla hatch and my wife has a 2011 Honda euro. With your advice we now looking at for a used Toyota Highlander ( called Kluger here in Australia due to licensing restrictions on the name. Thanks again love your videos - and I’m working on changing the oil next 👍👍

I was flabbergasted to say the least!!! There are some creators with only 1000 subscribers and will NEVER answer a ?, and here you have over a million subscribers and you answered mine very fast! Scotty, you're a very smart man for only buying used cars. I use to buy a new vehicle every few years until it finally hit me how much money I was throwing away. I mean, I may as well have set fire to it. Now that I've finally seen the light, I will never buy new again. From now on, I'm letting someone else take the huge depreciation hit in those first few years, then I'll swoop in and get a great low mileage, mint condition vehicle for half of MSRP or less. Love the channel!
That's exactly how I see it, in fact there is only ONE reason to buy a new car, and that is to impress the neighbours. Spend your money on better things, why worry about what the neighbours think, I sure don't.

My dad made pretty good money just working on cars on the weekend when I was a kid. He had cars lined up every weekend. He did pretty good being honest and fair with people. Tune-up, brake jobs, misc problems. You are one of the few Scotty. I would bring my car to you anytime if you lived in my area. I had a good independent when I lived in KY.

Scotty my 98 camry v6s front engine block coolant drain thingy is clogged, when i take out the bolt from it nothing comes out.. (yes coolant is full). Help

All of Scotty's answers are to buy a Toyota. Even if you ask him what his favorite color is it will be Toyota color names.
That’s because the Toyota paint color is still the same color 20 years later! Look at every gmc and chevy’s paint peeling after a couple of years, and don’t get me started on dodge neon paint LOL! I used to recommend Toyota and honda but after all of those bad transmissions in so many honda models, it’s TOYOTA ONLY. Nobody will take this advice however. If it’s not Toyota then send it to the CRUSHER!

Yeah, I too would not ever buy a Korean Car... Too many of them were seen on Fire on the side of the Roadway or being parked and soon after being parked they start burning. I have seen a Hyundai, Sonata being driven on the freeway with Flames coming from the front undercarriage and The driver seem to figure it out and pulled over and I too Pulled over and seen that they car was going to burn to a crisp. He got what he could out of it before it all would soon be consumed in a fire. Later on the FireMen came and talked with us and he said to use that It is very or too common that the Hyundai Sonatas have a big fiery past....They somehow catch and they burn very hot. Also we hear that these cars have Major Engine Failures that also cause the fires. Hyundai will not cooperate with Owners of these Failed Cars due to Fires (Total Loss) or Seized Engines that Failed. All the while the cars only have less than 30,000 Miles on it. I'll stick with my Ford Fusion, Toyotas and Ford Trucks.
The worst thing at the moment, you need about $70,000-$100,000 to get an exotic to drive consumption. And for some reason, the US watch time is typically low...🤷🏾♂️

Hey Scotty. I just bought my wife a Toyota kluger which is your highlander in the usa. 2018 model. I have never owned a toyota but i went with your advice re toyotas and how good they are. It is built very well. Are the highlander a good car??? It seems nice to drive.
