Being new to fishing I have to say you make it look very easy. keep the uploads coming this is my favorite fishing channel and I've learned a lot from it 👍👍👍
End of june you can't get moved on the pier mackerel season to have peace and quiet you need to be on the end at first light. Looking forward to your next video thanks.
Fantastic video mate. Will have to head down sometime and try some fishing. Used to love pulling these in and they make killer bait later in the year. Keep up the good work Gary
Another great vid Gary, was visiting a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately no gear with me, keep up the most excellent work dear chap. Tight lines, kind regards Keith.
Nice video thanks Gary. Surprised there were Sandeels about there back in May - as I've said in other comments tonight, pickings are unusually thin down here, not many baitfish about yet, and so no Bass or Mackerel. Love the scenery & drone footage, and jealous of the piers and some of the marks you have up there. Stay safe & well. 👍👍
Thanks 👍 they usually turn up around about May every year followed by the mackerel but the mackerel have been about a month later this year and still aren't fully in yet.
just bought and up to 8g lrf rod and looking to use it. ive got some straight tailed soft plastoics and the rod is 6ft. i cant cast far. where should i go lrfing in the sheilds area apart form the tyne? looking to catch flatties, pollocl/coalies and mini species. thanks
Sandhaven and little haven beach for flatties, the leas and camels rockpools for pollock and minis also the piers are good for the pollock coleys and minis.
@@fishingintheukgarywood do you think fish quay sands, the beach w the sailing boats on and around the black middens promenade is worth a shot for coalies and minis? thanks again and your videos are great, i especially like the summer beach lrf one
dont waste your time down the pier, head up to the top (10:30 location) 23 to 30 yard cast will get Bonk Eels (launce) when the Mackeral are in same place bur cast toward North pier (as far as you are able) usually if you drop down the side you will be plaiged wirth small coalies. you can easily achive 50 + Bonk Eells per tide in the summer
Hi Gary. Great video bud. This sort of fishing, are you better to fish tide in or tide out or doesn't it matter which one you choose ? Kind Regards Chris
With the sandeels you can catch rays, huss, spurdogs, bass, pollock and flounder. From the pier in the summer you can catch sandeels, cole fish, mackerel, pollock, flounder, dab, plaice and the odd Gurnard and codling.
Another enjoyable master class Gary, thankyou really enjoyed it
Thanks Stephen, glad you enjoyed it.

Any recommendations for getting #12 stainless steel hooks? Not seeing them anywhere and i want to make my own sabiki’s
