  • Jaden had a rough day at work, he boarded a bus and sat. A few minutes later, he noticed an old woman standing on the bus. He offered her a seat and she slid a note into his pocket. The note leads him down a path that he would never expect!

The color of one's skin should never determine respect for the elderly; it's about upbringing and values. This sentiment highlights the importance of respecting older generations regardless of cultural or racial backgrounds. How do you think cultural norms and family teachings shape attitudes towards respecting elders in different communities?

That's how we were taught, you cannot sit or stand when an old person is standing nor talk back to an old person. We were told it is a sign of not showing respect, our parents taught us good. Even now at my age of more than 60 when someone is older than me around 70 or more I still give them my chair if they don't have a place to sit at least I am still fit compared to them, 😂😂.

After a few months called my sister all the way from East Africa, paid all travel expenses and requested her to take his mother away to Africa so that he may have time off to enjoy his life. My sister was shocked, that this boy was brought up by this single mother throughout his life by help of the church cannot afford to take care of her. She came and stayed with her for three months and shipped her back to his dismay and then he put her in home care where she never lasted a month before giving up to her maker. 100% agree with you. I was born & raised in Germany 🇩🇪 👏🏼 😉, we knew exactly how to behave and not trigger our parent's/elder's
"I'm gonna beat your behind if you keep it up." I was born in the very early 60s, the last of three kids, and my parents hadn't even reached their mid 20s. My mom went back to work as I was only two weeks old. [she paid an awful price for doing that. Her health was always compromised for the rest of her life]. So, from the time I can remember, we three kids were responsible for cleaning the house, doing laundry, mending ripped clothes, and I (sadly) had to patch up everyone's socks 🤢 🤮.
"No" was never an option for us, and we always had to obide what our elders said. It was tough growing up this way, but we learned from the beginning of how we had to behave and what was expected from us kids.
If so many "parents" nowadays wouldn't be such pushovers and put their foot down, maybe many of these "social media addicted losers" would find out that there are more important issues than having their faces, combined with butthole lips, posted all over Facebook and the rest of these creepy websites.

Always, and men also who were disabled. Some times I sat down on a bus just to give it away when I saw someone in need of it and noticed young people not showing respect. God has blessed me many times. Thank you Father God 🙏 🤲

People aren't bringing their children up with manners, compassion, respect and kindness for their elders. How sad is it, that a man giving up his seat for an elder, has to be praised. Although I do praise him for his actions.
The Bible predicted this ignorance and disrespect in youths in the 'last days.'

Me too. I had to stand in a bus full of healthy, young kids & when the bus lurched around a corner I lost my balance & fell against a seated, young tourist. She was very angry with me, so I said 'If you'd offered your seat to someone much older than you & disabled, it wouldn't have happened!' She made no reply & stared sulkily out of the bus window. I was glad to reach my stop half an hour later. The girl was a tourist in this country (Australia) & did not represent her country well at all. Moreover, the bus was full of her compatriots - all young, all seated & with large backpacks obstructing the aisle - oblivious to the older passengers, forced to stand as best they could.
